Meanwhile, in the other-Northwest-of-England-club's thread, calls for the former other-Merseyside-club's manager's head is stronger than ever.

Do you guys think he should stay? *Ahem* Of course you guys want him to stay.  tongue.gif  But will he be given another season to prove himself though? hmm.gif
*
I'm inclined to believe that if they wanted to do it they would've done so already so no. Looking forward to seeing him splash and burn 200m rclxms.gif

of course we would like him to stay but that board must have plans already. From champion to 7th is too much of a damage to take both in term of reputation and financially. Doesn't surprise me they sack him in the summer. Question, return of SAF or if they could get someone they actually 'like' to take up the job?
*
He would be getting a payout around GBP25million if he get sacked. Maybe that the only reason why he still the Manager.

In summer most probably if there is a clause saying that he didnt perform as what is expected maybe they can sack him for a cheaper option.

If not they might be sticking with him for another season or so....

A bit unfair to criticize Wenger when his team is crippled with injuries. It's always easy to kick someone when they're down on the floor. We have excelled this season and we have suffered some injuries this season tho not nearly as extensive as Arsenal had this season. They really missed Walcott and Ramsay. We would moan too if he had lost Hendo, Sterling and Suarez for large part of the season. Look at Chelsea without Hazard, City without Aguero and Yaya. All teams would suffer if they lose their key players.

Having said that, i think we have also managed our season quite well. We lost Sturride, Agger, Gerrard and Lucas to injuries this season, Lucas in particular didn't play nearly as much as others and it showed yesterday. Suarez too missed the first 5 games of the season and Enrique long term injury has forced us to play a rightback at leftback.

The key thing for me is that BR has somehow managed to tinker and reshape the team to cope with those injuries and the result has been stunning. Not only has he managed it but he made us even more dangerous.

the first time I heard they hired Moyes, I thought Glazers were looking for a cheap option. someone who can do a good job with limited transfer budget like he did with Everton. So I will be very surprised if he is given 200mil transfer budget instead of 25mil payout....

Arsenal fans are angry with AW becoz they know their team are crippled, but AW still reluctantly reinforce player to to replace and sustain their squad. If he had getting Ramsey 2.0 in Jan transfer windows. They wouldn't have been getting the sxxxy results.

We were lucky coz we didn't reinforce anyone in Jan windows and i was furious becoz our thin squad are few keys players out with injuries. Luckly we over achieved.

I don't think SAF will come back. He ended on a high and he's not getting any younger. Why risk his legacy? tongue.gif <--------------#thingsrivalfanssay

He was picked by SAF after all. The board might be scared to sack him and leave SAF red-faced. IMO, DM should be given the chance to prove critics wrong. He had very big shoes to fill this season. I think there's a small chance he'll stay on but if they're not near the top 4 come middle of next season, he's a goner for sure.

Wenger's unfortunate with the injuries to his key players this season. Definitely affected Arsenal's title challenge. Having said that though, their away performances against the other teams in the top 5 teams this season were horrendous! His tactics were poor in all of those games and surely has to take some of the blame for their failure in the league this season.

Great credit has to be given to BR for how he's managed the team this season. We have the thinnest squad among the top 4 and some players were injured in some parts of the season but he has eked out whatever possible from each player this season and more often than not, he's tinkered with the team's game plan on the fly during matches to the team's advantage.

The last transfer window was a difficult one as most good players are either cup tied or not available. You either overpay for the player or suffer being handicapped by the player being cuptied - or both. The manc bought Mata yet he couldn't play in Europe and they really missed him. It's why we passed on Salah and couldn't get Kono because his club didn't want to part with the player. The capitulation of Arsenal was a combined factors of players being injured and them not able to find suitable replacements, and then compounded by tricky fixtures. The odds were already stacking against him unfortunately.

I'm over the moon man. Who would have thought we'd go on an 11 game winning streak?

Exceptional performance from Sterling, Skrtel (except from when he started tugging shirts again) and Joe Allen. Brilliant decision by Rodgers to have him and Coutinho rotate in that central role. He's showing a lot more maturity and composure in his game. Superb effort for the first goal. Skrtel was a monster in the air and I reckon Norwich scored because Mignolet gave him a shout but failed to punch the ball clear. Allen pressed brilliantly in defence (though he was somewhat fortuitous not to give away a freekick at the edge of the box in the 1st half) and exchanged some nice passes with Suarez in the opposition half. This is the Allen I've wanted to see i.e. one that is given the freedom to attack the opposition box instead of being the last man in a midfield triangle.

Johnson had a dour game though. His positional sense was appalling and he looked lost as Norwich players were running around him. Hardly ventured forward. I hope he has a good World Cup so we can fetch a decent price for him. Thanks Glen but we need to look forward.

Agreed. I think this is where Wenger has failed to either see or acknowledge BR's ability to reshape his team based on the circumstances. Losing games can happen in football but to suffer humiliating defeats is another story. We had tough fixtures back in December where we visited City and Chelsea within a week yet we put up a good fight. You simply cannot let your team suffer humiliating defeats as it will mentally wreck you.
