Depends, either plate or without plate is ok for me.
If u are using plate mount switches, then better use plate to secure the switches' position.

Don't just listen to ppl, choose the layout u prefer first then ask for recommendation of keyboard models/brands.
I'm sure forumers will be giving more useful suggestions accordingly instead of telling u buy this and that blindly.

If you don't mind full size, cheaper alternatives are ducky zero or rosewill rk9000; Around RM269~279.

Depends, some pcb can be flashed using same software if they are using same or similar controller.
Such as kmac and duck pcb are both using flip to flash the firmware/keymap.
Yes, u can always change the keymap layouts and flash it. That's the reason of getting a custom because most oem board cant do so.

There's A87u PCB group buy in EC forum, but not sure if it will hit moq of 20 or not.
Price is about rmb300+ , controllers and smd components are not soldered. Add rmb150 for soldering all iinm.
If wanna save little cost, can request just solder the controller part only and the rest self settle.
