Hi mechanical keyboard enthusiasts.
I just entered mechanical keyboard world. Bought my first new mechanical keyboard a few days ago. It's with blue switches. It was a fun typing experience until I typed on some keys that did not produce the same sound and did not felt like others. There seems to be a problem (under my understanding) with some of the switches/keys.
From what I know, generally, blue switches should produce that click sound. But some keys on my keyboard have mushy sound, almost like no click at all.
I have a video of the situation.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gjSJj1un7bcIn this video, I recorded the F3 key sound, which did not click like F2 and F4.
This is my first mechanical keyboard so I have no practical experience dealing with this. I'm hoping long time users of mechanical keyboard can shed some light on this.
Do you think it's a defective switch? Should I send for a replacement?
Yeah, get it sorted while your warranty is still available.
some blue switches tend not to click for some reason. probably a bad batch.
however there are cases where the switch would click after some time after prolong usage.
For additional reading, similar case to yours. -
