haha..coz i saw it from youtube the guy wore it and sat inside the bathtub.  laugh.gif or maybe he wants his jean to shrink to fit his bottom?

mind to share ur method? or just throw into the washing machine?
*
or another way u can do that to make sure ur jeans shrink to fit is wear it when its damp and let it dry on ur skin.

as for washing method... seriously just wash it normally. either expensive or cheap ur jeans are... washing normally will make the jeans last longer. the method u see they do is really for those people who are really anal about taking care of their jeans.

just like me once.... brows.gif

You're welcome! It's about RM20.. the thing I don't like is that you can't get it on the spot unlike at BB Plaza.. but sometimes beggars cant be choosers tongue.gif

The machine is at his house I guess..
*
as u know the yard's boss is also the founder of the cheese denim. i guess the machine to do chain stitch is at his factory.

I dont mind but then again for me selvedge denim is one of the sought after denim. Its the cherry on the icing cake.
Yes a good denim is about the cut and fabric but i do believe selvedge is a better fabric than projectile loom denim fabric.
If u put up just denim in general all sort of denim will flooded the thread and it beat the purpose of having the discussion on raw and selvedge denim. Of course people will confuse however as long as we as the poster of this thread explain about the differences regrading the raw and selvedge denim it'll be ok i guess.
Anyways for selvedge and raw denim they got their own cult here in malaysia and i mean its big.
So yeah if other people need to know denim in general we can provide information for it, however i like it to retain the raw and selvedge denim because its kindda different from ur regular denim.
Thats my opinion anyways

QUOTE(itekderp @ Feb 11 2015, 02:30 PM)
But then you do have raw denim which aren't selvedge as well.
I can see where you're coming from with the whole selvedge thing. But I just have to disagree sometimes especially in recent years. Selvedge has become sort of a fashion accessory, and you have tons of selvedge coming out which aren't up to par and clearly inferior to even non-selvedge raws. Shouldn't we focus on the fabrics instead in this case? It's easy to make selvedge fabric, but not everyone gets the denim heritage right.

*
i also understand where u stand on this particular topic. However, we are focusing on the fabric itself and the fabric coincidently named selvedge. Raw is one thing and selvedge is another. raw can or cant be selvedge, and selvedge does not mean its raw (thou most of the people i know seems to love their selvedge raw).

beside one of the objective of this thread is to educate and giving information to people about raw and selvedge denim in general. im sure there are thousands of brands using selvedge fabric as their so called fashion accessories but how many of them stay that way?

i dont see selvedge as a fashion accessories at all. I bet most of it over here are too. i wear selvedge denim because i appreciate the fact that producing a selvedge denim is kindda unique and a bit hard since there are not many shuttle loom that made selvedge denim available anymore. furthermore, i appreciate the dying processes of the fabric itself, the way the fabric feels and the durability of the selvedge.

sure sometime the topic a bit derailed because some of the forummers asking about non selvedge and raw denim related stuff and yeah if other poster can give sort of info about the related denim.. then why not? mainly its going to focus more about raw and selvedge denim. either cheap or expensive, the poster who have information regarding it will provide information and we share the information together.

beside producing selvedge denim is quite expensive and the quantity of the denim produced is much-much lower than the usual projectile loom. im talking about the real selvedge here and not the one that patches the selvedge on the denim just to look cool lol!

as for cutting and stuff, i think we also covered that topic, be it ur regular denim or raw and selvedge denim.

Cheers mate how do you washed your jeans?
dry cleaning?
*
throw away the jeans into ur washing machine. use minimal detergent, go for regular wash.
wait till the the washing machine stop. take out and dry them.

need not to fret about nice fade, hygiene is very important since we live in malaysia... sweat is much more prominent over here than the westerners who got 4 seasons.

Yup. Just dive them into the sea!

Sounds crazy and probably gimmicky, but the sand supposedly    sands off (sorry for the pun) the denim giving it a better contrast.

I dont normally do it, but i had a company trip to Lombok Indonesia, and just took the opportunity to sea wash it. Plus i haven't washed my jeans since i first wore them....since october 2014. Hehe.
*
done it... love the result. thou swimming on a pair of jeans is really somewhat troublesome lol...

Hi guys. Gotten my first pair of selvage from uniqlo. Thought I'd start with one that is cheap just in case I screw up...

Question is should I bring it back to uniqlo for hemming (blind stitch) or send to one of the hemming services available in the first page? What's the difference actually?
I live nearby wangsa maju.
*
for uniqlo i guess u wont have to go far to as chain stitch the hemming. just go for normal one should be fine.
