Yup I went for the cheapest that they have.I bought the momotaro phone case to get the free shipping deal XD.

The jeans was RM543 and to get free shipping you have to at least spend RM570,so instead of paying the shipping for RM114 I bought the phone case for RM84 & then I got the 10% discount for new customer and only have to pay RM574.
*
Should take the t-shirt. i love loopwheel t-shirt. its quite heavy from other normal t-shirt but i think u score a good haul there.

i like my jeans heavy. i got 2 19oz and was thinking of buying a 25oz the next time i got a chance.

I know nothing about loopwheel t-shirt since I was focusing on finding my first raw denim & free shipping, thus the phone case XD.

I can’t imagine wearing 25oz in Malaysia.I might try a 21oz next tho.

One last thing,do you by any chance know if emamalterz still do jeans hemming? I wanna get mine hemmed since the jeans too long.
*
not sure if emamalterz still in business....

havent heard his name for a while lol... but here some info about him

Anyone here wear Nudie Jeans?
How's the quality?
*
last time nudie was actually decent. circa 2005 -2010 still good. i got the discontinued one (the black dry selvedge grim tim) which for me looks and feel better than the 2010 dry selvedge grim tim i bought before buying the discontinued ones.

the buttonfly's are one of the best feelings when u can just rip it open without any restrictions. glides like butter and the stitching is quite good.

however i cant say about the new nudie. they sell alot of those distressed jeans nowdays and i personally dont like the way it looks.

the price nowdays... fuh usd280 for a grim tim.... i mean i can secure a nice japs denim (sugarcane, japan blue or an oni denim) for less of that price.

I see. I am just looking for my first raw denim. And I don't really know many raw denim brands tho..
The one I know is Evisu and Nudie Jeans only.

I'll be looking into Sugarcane, Japan Blue and Oni Denim.

Are there any good raw denim in the price range of RM500 to RM700 like that?
*
raw denim means the denim is not wash and not the washed or faded ones... i can be a selvedge denim and it can be non selvedge.

if only raw denim u can check out local maker like cheese denim.

its a local made but using japanese denim. for only raw denim its quite cheap. for selvedge denim, cheese denim can go for rm500-700 but yeah u can check it out.

he also can advise u whats the best for u so i encourage u to go to the yard at ss15 subang jaya.

but if u really need something fast and readily available... just go for uniqlo.

Kronoz is a good option too tongue.gif

Been itching for a nice pair of raw denim for a while.

My RRL and N&F has been fading a little lacklustrely since I wear them less and less nowadays.
*
kronoz only have iron heart, japan blue, momotaro and if im not mistaken last time got unbranded brand

UGS (or is it USG i forgot) Underground at sg wang got studio d artisan, pherrows, toy mcoys

zolo got samurai denim and other denim

this is all based from old info... around 3-4 years ago so it may vary. i kindda stop buying denim since i got like 8 pairs and i didnt wear most of them (i prefer going out with bermuda nowdays... freaking hot...
but i still online window shopping for denim from time to time...

any1 here tried chinese brands such as Saucezhan, Red Tornado or Uncle FU?

Or local malaysian brands?

Any comments or thoughts?
*
i have cheese denim in my collection. Long story short, they are really good. The denim are usually imported from japan, and the machine they use is old machine like singer, union special. since they made it in house means u can make a bespoke denim tailored to your taste.

for their ready made ones its great too. was banging my head when i didnt get the 18oz ones where the denim was quite rare and hard to find.

As for chinese brand i guess most of what u mentioned are okay. if u are having 2nd thoughts on the chinese brand, hey go for for alternative route such as japan blue or sugarcane. still cheap imho.

thanks for the tips.

I didnt know we have our own denim maker such as raw denim house but i think they are mostly bespoke / MTO.

I am new into the denim game...is 18oz very heavy and hard to wear in our Malaysia weather?

At the moment, I only own Uniqlo jeans only hahahah i am not sure of their weight since they dont say it on the website or product description.
*
Honestly there are a lot (around 5-6 that i know of) but im not sure if most of them are still around except for cheese denim. i wore a 19oz samurai and i have a 19 oz iron heart and i do like the thickness. for samurai 19oz i use mostly when riding my bike and iron heart for leisure.

QUOTE(BacktoBasics @ Jul 31 2021, 03:03 PM)
hahaha i see.... care to share which brands you have or recommend to a first-timer like me??
*
well if u wanna try a cheap uniqlo would be ok. i mean u wont gonna spend like rm1k++ for a high end japs denim and ending up not liking it lol. go for cheap like uniqlo and then slowly increase your options.
