Thanks for all of the works to enable unknown source in the STB. I've tried installing the stock firmware published by akifrabbani (that includes GAPPS) but always received a message that the GAPPS has error and need to be closed. Then I decided to not installing or using the GAPPS version. I also have tried using the Aptoide method. However I could not install any apps from Aptoide.

Then I tried the zip file to enable unknown app source and I managed to install the latest MXPlayer, ES File Explorer, an app to run ftp server. My intention is just using the STB as media player only. Always torrenting, so I need the STB to be able to run the ftp server so that I can copy the downloaded files (movies, .mkv, .mp4 etc) from my PC to the hard drive (formatted as NTFS) attached to the STB. That went well, thanks to you akifrabbani and everyone involved.

Recently I decided to run ttorrent on the STB since this app can force encryption (unlike the bittorrent or utorrent apps) to bypass TM throttling. However, I detected that the internal sd card is not mounted. When I check at the es file explorer, I can see that the internal sd card is not mounted. I still recall that during the earlier time that there was an internal sd card mounted but not now. I tried to reflash, restore factory setting, etc but I always end up having unmounted internal sd card. At the STB setting page, I can view the internal storage (size and free space size only) but somehow it is not mounted.

Anyone facing the same problem? How to mount the sd card? Will be a great help if anyone using es file explorer on the STB could see whether your internal sd card is mounted or not.

I'm on streamyx too but I never had any problem with the authentication. Can I suggest you to go to the settings and under IPTV setting, and inserting maintenance code: 3008, and re-enter your username and password. Your username should be @tvos, available on the registration slip when you collect your stb at tm centre before. Hope this help.

Stupid tm doesn't let me change old hypptv box with this android one.

what version of codec did you install?

install mxplayer.. it will come with codec too.. no worries bout it.. just update

In my case, I just install the latest mx player (not pro) apk, then install armv7 and/or armv7 neon (actually I'm not sure which one makes it work, don't have time to figure out). You can find the apk file elsewhere besides google play. So far, all of my mkvs and mp4s can play well. the only problem is, it doesn't support DTS audio. you have to convert to AC3 audio.

Also sometimes, you have to toggle between HW and SW codec during playback if one of the method produce stuttering/slow playback. Most of the time HW is the best. Subtitle display is great. BTW, i'm using only .srt. The biggest mkv file that I could play (size is actually does not matter, bit-rate it is) is 22.4 GBytes with overall bit-rate 25.3 Mbps. Details as below. In all my videos I only use High@L4.1 profile because it is more than enough (for me).

So far, I have no problem at all with this box except unmounted internal sd card issue explain in my previous post. I have to run bittorrent client on my PC and transfer the downloaded file via ftp to my hard drive attached to the box.

Updated it but it gives me outdated, incompatible codec and refuse to install latest pack.

Turned out I have uninstall everything and reinstall the player and proper codec from other source without auto update first.

Ah I see. Got it working with ARMv7.

Of course H/W is faster. Software mode is like decoder emulation.
So far it just play whatever HD mkv/mp4 file flawlessly regardless of profile, from Hi 10p to baseline.
Biggest I have is 8GB, extremely optimized encode.

My only complaint is sometimes the player start without ability to select menus.
To get around this you need to spam control button on remote when the app still loading on start.

Btw how much transfer speed for your FTP?

I tried to run FTP server but got connection refused error.
Using FTPS/SCP but the transfer speed is around only ~500KBps.
Currently using webdav can transfer like 3MBps.

SMB could theoretically give far better speed but since my box isn't rooted it doesn't work with windows PC.

Thanks for sharing about the ARMv7.

Strangely, I don't have any problem on accessing the menus. Only sometimes, the player will switch to S/W encoder when playing .avi or .mp4 files. No problem with the .mkv, the player always use the H/W encoder.

I'm running Servers Ultimate Pro V6.3.10 on the box for the FTP server. I'm using the FTP only for my LAN/WIFI connections i.e. no port forwarding to the WAN. I simply set up the server without user i.e. anonymous. As for speed, I don't have any software to measure the speed but I just copied a MKV file from the server (connected through LAN) to my laptop (WIFI, 802.11n@72Mbps) with network utilization (from task manager) of around 46% (prior to the copying process I checked that the network utilization was 0% i.e. no packet transfers between my laptop and the network i.e. all webpages opened were fully loaded). This means that the speed was around 33 Mbps (slightly more than 4 MBps). Not much different with your speed. Actually the box was connected at a LAN port from my another access point (connected through LAN cable to the TM's router) while my laptop was connected at the WiFi from the router.

I only use the "Add a network location" from 'My Computer' (Win7) to add the server shortcut on my laptop, prior the copying process; no other client software is used to access the server.

I'm not able to reach the box to see the server detail set up at the moment, but if you want, maybe I'll add later by request. I also have some problems with my current FTP set up but I believe something is wrong in my configurations. BTW, I'm not FTP expert; I googled around a lot to learn about the set up.
