Hehe, any advice for someone who wants to be a tryhard but with a MMR that's free falling. shocking.gif

Depends on what queue you're tryharding for. tongue.gif

If it's solo queue, then the fastest way to get better is to be positive. After reading a thread on Reddit about the benefits of positive behavior in ranked games, I put it to the test - I communicate using the chat wheel and pings, avoiding typing and using my mic as much as possible. I just random as soon as the hero selection screen comes up, and I play whatever I get. No swaps unless someone asks for the hero, no complaints about what they pick after me. If I random a carry and they pick 4 carries, I tell them that we just have to drag the game. If someone feeds, I ignore them and continue doing the best I can in my lane. The result - a nett gain of 300 MMR over 17 games. Once in a while the games become too frustrating and I resort to raging again. At times like those, I take a break and only continue playing solo the next day.

QUOTE(Yoshii-kun @ May 8 2014, 06:16 PM)
I meant in IRL frens la bro.
Random party with people who KNOW how to play is fine.
Dat time we party, all know how to play.
Imagine partying with 2 people who build 4 shoes or naked radiance, cuz some build/pro they saw do it...
*
The only IRL friends I still play with are my ex-tourney buddies. The rest of them have morphed into the play for fun category, and I actively avoid those types. Better for both parties IMHO.

QUOTE(Arcisal @ May 8 2014, 06:48 PM)
Flavour of the month: Wratih King support.

Discuss.
*
Not really a support, no. He's too item dependent to play 5th, and needs core items to play an effective 4th (unless there's another hero in the lineup that's suited to pick up mek/pipe). More suitable as part of a multicore lineup where he delivers the initiation and damage absorption while a secondary carry goes glass cannon to clean things up. I'm thinking that as part of a roaming combo, he can snowball fast and that should solve his gold problems.

Never ever blame your teammates. Don't act like you're entitled in pub games. Look at your own mistakes. Some people think they're higher than their MMR. Some 4k players think they're 5k stuck in elo hell, rofl.

Carrying entire 4k-5k teammates in pub games is piss easy for Captain Pinoy.

Has your camera zoom been adjusted? I've read that it can happen if you have camera tweaks as part of your autoexec settings.

I still feel like my game sense is lacking though. I don't mind being flamed, so let's try partying for normal games? icon_question.gif And yeah, sometimes it's difficult to be positive when you see stuff like Aquila on Lion. rclxub.gif

Lost 5 times in a row last night, but managed to redeem myself at the end. Playing Sniper is so damn easy. Hide, enemy come, make sure he's alone, then shoot shoot, skill 1, shot some more, ult.

And I'm even getting the hang of situational item builds. Lost playing as Doom but I'm getting the hang of making items according to situations. smile.gif

most frustrating part is when you actually cared to ping + type + mic comm to warn about incoming ganks and wards and your team still got caught less than 10s after that.

Sometimes we tunnel vision already, too focused on last hitting that we don't see the map often.

I remember looking into a few pro player config.
Some changed their minimap to old school w3 style (vary dark shade of blue, hero icon stand out)
Some oso change to names, not icons or hero icons

I think increase the size of markers is good enuf, problem with default is always too small.

Problem comes when you look at your minimap TOO much, especially with Mirana arrows.
