thanks for the quick update @YouDontKnowMyName & @rOnnyJustrOn

just thinking to mod to full spec or even better than Prime
I've calculated before bought my eb its required less than 5k excluding performance part

contacted my local painting workshop, they would charge me rm150 for door handle, side mirror only (with dissemble it from car)
for chrome bar at rear boot it would cost rm130 + (toll & fuel rm60)
or get from local shop rm200

or I get sticker then DIY wrap Rm40+Rm40+RM40 (different type of stickers) for 3 area shining gloss black, metal brush silver & chrome

or tin spray & DIY (coat + black + silver + white RM80)
however I still looking for longer lifespan n product quality

of coz all above cons is I need to spend my time & money to get it done rather than keeping basic eb

btw r u guys member of any clubs or something? except Lyn  biggrin.gif  just wander? hmm.gif
*
Could have given you the rear boot chrome for a cheaper rate.....
But what to do I'm in Singapore....
I bought it last time for my CPS but within 1 month changed to CFE so traded in the CPS in original condition.... now that part is with me.. smile.gif

muhammad_azadAs previous reported, you get a bunch of service vouchers, and only mineral oil can fit into that budget. Total vouchers is valued at RM945. Thanks to tst71 for that valuable information. Nothing to be disappointed about, if you compare to the owners in the last two years.

luckykid5Most of the time, people report problems with their car, and less on satisfaction. Few of us here express satisfaction with our rides, and we can only do it once, or twice. But, the same problems will be reported by different users over and over again. Check out other threads like Mazda, Toyota, Nissan and Honda, you'll see problems with their SC and QC. So, it is up to you to interpret the situation.

I am not pro-P1 or P2, just that I own their cars.
*
Totally agree with Alexei....
This is my 6th Car after moving from Ford, Suzuki, Nissan, Kia, Exora CPS and then now riding the CFE for the past 2 plus years....

In my experience all had minor teething problems there and here... I remember my Nissan Sunny I had to bring back 2 times... once due to Brake Pad issues and other time due to Oil leak within the 2nd Free Service....

If you ask me what will be my next Car, surely it depends on my Pocket during that time.... smile.gif If I have money I will surely go for a Audi or BMW smile.gif
But as of now, this Car is well apt to my Pocket and it serves well... Yes, as this is a Budget friendly Car, I cannot expect much luxury from the SCs also smile.gif . But so far they are good with me (touch wood.... rclxms.gif )...

But at the same time, sad to hear the bad experiences the members share here due to the bad experiences they received from some of the SCs which Proton could have taken care and corrected.
Hope that Proton could hear us and improve.....

It would have been good if Proton could start to collect the Feedback from Owners regarding the SCs.... Maybe by providing a Feedback form...

hmmm... how do you get it to show exact temp?
*
Not sure whether it is correct or not.
Last time when I enquired this to SC, they informed me that , the Auto Cooler triggers On only when the temperature is higher than 86degree.
That means, the Cooler will not start, if the engine temp is not going higher than this.
And once it is above 100degree, the Cooler mode goes to the 2nd level whereby you will be hearing louder sound of the Fan running.

HU = Head Unit. My EB has 2 headrest monitor, 1 HU screen and the media player that can take AUX input.

By getting the AV feed from HU to the Aux of media player, and vice versa, I can manage the contents played in the car. Most importantly, I can play DVD with the media player, and output to the headrest monitor. My HU can select separate zone for rear and front, so I can let rear passengers watch video, while driver row listen to other things or mute.

I'm using Any Video Converter. Select file, drop down output, and click convert.
Can batch process resize, filter, etc. Supports Intel Quicksync for H264 IINM.
Downside is, no multi-pass encoding for better quality.
*
Hi Alexei, have you tried connecting the HU to the Steering Wheel Controls?
I'm using Pioneer P4450BT and added a Steering Interface Control unit to interface to the Steering.
But unable to Pickup or Disconnect calls, the rest of the controls works.

A DIY sharing:

Since there is no light inside the Dashboard Compartments for Exora I just added a simple one.
Attached Image

Just need a Universal Door Switch and a Bulb with case or a LED strip light(which I'm using)
Attached Image

Attached a Universal Switch behind the below Compartment so that the Button will be pressed down when we close the Box. Ensured that I've have connected the Universal Switch to the Earth only.
Attached Image

Added lights in both the compartments, but control with only one switch.
Attached Image

I took the power supply from the Sill plate (you can take it from any live wire which is a direct supply).
Attached Image

There you go.....
Sharing just for info only....

I can use. The HU have steering config, and all button works.
Does yours able to configure the buttons? It needs to be done. Example, I assign 'Mode' button to "power on/off" instead, more practical to me.
*
Thanks Alexi...
I don't remember seeing the settings to configure the buttons in my HU.
Seems like it is pre-set via the interface module.
Anyway will try out the settings again and see whether there is any option.....

oh ya... over the weekend, the engine died while i was on reverse. weird that this actually happens on an AUTO transmission... :S

i do recall reading in this forum that it has happened to a few members who had put the gear on N while coming downhill.

in my case... the car was on N (car was stationary/ not moving). but it was a slightly sloping, so car did move forward a bit. then i pressed brakes. after that, put to R gear and reverse... engine died.

so now... the thing about N gear. say we stop on traffic lights. its slightly sloped... just very slightly. we stop. put to N gear. the car may move a bit... does that mean after that, got good chance engine will die?

hmmm... kinda silly, no?
*
Haven't faced this issue....
Last time mine was when I put R and D few times, it will show like it is dyeing off or jerking...

My Car is now more than 2 yrs and ran only around 25,000km.
Just recently faced 2 issues but still waiting to see whether it is a one off issue or will it re-occur...

1. Tried to switch On the Aircon as usual in the Drive mode. But no response. The rear one was already On and working fine. Tried On and Off few times, but still no response. No extraordinary indicators or warnings in the Panel. Then I tried to put the Aircon to Speed 4 and could see that it was working fine. Then tried to put back to 1 and it was okay. Stopped the Car and tried again and everything was perfect.

2. Done a Car wash by myself and cleaned the Rims nicely with the Car Shampoo...
Next day morning, started the Car and tried to move to D, the Car didn't move at all....
Then I accelerated until above 3k rpm(I guess), then the Car started to move with a sound (not sure from where it came...).
I think the Brakes might have got jammed after the Car Wash.....

Anybody here have the same experience?

1. Not sure about this, but i hear from somewhere before it's something to do with Aircon speed sensor itself.
2. CFE or CPS? Why i'm asking because CFE got 4 Disc brake while CPS got 2 Disc 2 Drum brake. The disc brake itself will rusty overnight after washing, if you didn't drive it after wash. What happen is brake pad is sticking with rusty disc brake surface, specifically handbrake. Just drive like normal i think.
*
Mine is CFE.
Oh i see... Thanks

It's normal to have burning smell every once in a while. I encounter burning smell too sometimes although rarely when I drive very aggressively or put the pedal to the metal tongue.gif
Not sure about SAT mode though. Never really played with it
*
I also faced this initially.
Came to know from SC that this may happen for these new vehicles as the burning smell is contributed when the pipes(not sure which one they are mentioning.... maybe the exhaust pipe) get very hot (maybe due to the coating is getting burnt smile.gif ).
Mine after a month didn't have any more burnt smell...

If you notice, in "D", the engine will tends to optimize at 2,000 rpm. While at "L", the engine rev at 3,000rpm and optimized it. It good for overtaking, hill climb and touge driving. The engine braking also at it best compare to the "D" mode.

I'm not sure on the maximum speed in "L", but last night 100~110km/h on mountain road was fun.

My advice, if you like to do the same, please keep your eyes on the road and the CVT warning light. Just to be safe.
*
I saw in one of the forums somebody sharing that in 'L' mode the maximum speed is 110, so yesterday just tried out and it easily went until 130 (with RPM at 6K).... at that time my Wife jumped in and forced me to slow down rolleyes.gif so I think it can surely go more than that......

Encountered another thing y'day before I started my trip. I was trying to re-connect the OBD2 adaptor with re-profiling the settings as somehow it stopped working and couldn't connect anymore.....
But then when I started the Car in ''P'' mode, I heard a knock knock sound coming from below the Gear (central console) so I got puzzled and checked the Dashboard meters to see whether any indicators were coming up.... to my surprise I saw the RPM was at the full Maximum drool.gif .
Without any delay I switched Off the Car and pulled out the OBD2 adaptor and then restarted and saw everything back to normal..... sweat.gif
Seems like the OBD2 adaptor is the problem creator here.....

*
Mine is the LH and the issue is that it won't get opened up completely.... so I have to try few times.
Cannot bring it for Warranty as I've installed a side arrow glass LED indicator inside the Mirror biggrin.gif .....

Which OBD2 brand? Care to share it. This sound very dangerous.
*
It is ELM327 which I bought from eBay.
It was working fine for more than 1 year and all of a sudden stopped.
At this point I'm not sure whether it is the OBD2 adaptor issue or not.....
Other things which can go wrong is my Settings or maybe my Phone (SG3) after update....

So will try out again with a different Phone and see.... also will play around with the settings smile.gif

Here you go....
But if you are doing ensure that it is done by a professional or once with experience. I done in SG and saw the guy doing for a Continental Car so I was confident smile.gif

Removed the Mirror.....
Attached Image
Pasted the LED behind the Mirror without disturbing the coating (the light will pass through the coating and will display clearly on the outside)
Attached Image
In action (will blink together with the Stock Indicators.... (there are other types like running arrows also and other colours...)

I guess no one here is as daring as you to travel at such speeds with cruise control laugh.gif
Mind if I ask, what is the main purpose of the LED? Is it supposed to act like a side mirror turn indicator?
*
Yes it is.....

This is just a fancy add on only smile.gif
The sellers claim that it is visible more for those riders who are at that side of your vehicle..... and to some extend it is true.... smile.gif
I got it free when I went to fix the Auto side mirror close/open module.

You can buy it for cheap in Aliexpress (search for 'Car Side Mirror Turn Signal arrow Lights')
But will have to find out a reliable and cheap place for installation.

I find that the EB has alot of vibrations going on when accelerating compared to other cars.
The sounds are especially obvious since the materials they use for the cabin are all cheap hard plastics. No vibration cushion whatsoever for items placed in storage compartments.
My own DIY method for reducing the vibration sounds is by placing an anti-slip rubber mat in those compartments smile.gif
*
True, I also did the same for all the door storage compartments, as well as all the dashboard compartments...

QUOTE(Ferocious Rotifers @ Jul 16 2014, 02:57 PM)
Hi everybody.

I am new to this thread. I hope my question will be posted correctly.

I have a new EB which is due for the 1st 1000km service.
Overall, not much to complain about; BUT I think the fuel consumption is way too high!

I have monitored twice. I put in 30L of fuel - but I can ONLY Get about 220 - 230km. That work out to about 13.0 to 13.5 L / 100km (city driving); whereas Proton Brochure says 8.3L/100km.

Even my old ALTIS which has done 350000km can get 11L/100km city driving; and 8.5L/100km (highway driving).

Assuming my driving style has not changed, and tyre pressure are all normal - what could be the reason for the high consumption?
Fuel leak at engine?
Poor combustion?
Fuel vaporise and leak out from the tank cover?
Turbo not engagaed when town driving?

Appreciate any explanation/advise.
*
As the rest of the members commented, your FC will improve after 1k service.
I've added a lot of weight by Sound proofing the whole vehicle (except the fire wall), normal heavy 17" Sports rims & tyres and lots of additional fittings..... then also I'm getting about 11 per litre (high way) and for City around 8 to 9km. And the vehicle is 2yr plus smile.gif
