http://www.carbase.my/car-comparison?id=2S...Xufr,2Qku88KG5c,

as you can see, the standard is 15inch RIM. and also for standard, it's 86KG lighter compare to the Bold edition. I also wonder why, probably partially because of the 15 inch lighter compare to 16?
btw, why you wanna change r16 to r17 for your EB? better stability? not worry will consume more petrol?
*
I don't think the rims alone will affect the weight by that much. It's definitely a combination of everything that's different between the 2 variants. For example, maybe the premium's leather seats are heavier than the cloth seats on the standard. Or maybe even the ceiling mounted screen adds a little bit of weight. Just assuming laugh.gif

Hye bros...

Im newbie here. My name is Khairul from Seri Kembangan, Selangor.  I still waiting for my new EB Std Plum Red. Nearly 2 weeks already after my loan approved... Here i hv some Q for u guys.

1. Any different in NVH between EB Premium and Std model?
2. I want to change the steering to Bold Premium or Preve (with paddle shift) steering. I read someone done tis b4. So can u share with me where u did it (installation)? How bout the airbag?
3. Upgrade to 16' or 17' sport rims. Is it will void the warranty?
4. Leather seat cover? Anyone installed? I can see a lot of ready made PU/Semi leather seat cover price between RM400-RM700 - how bout quality and fitment? Or better to customized and cost around RM1.5k - RM2.5k. Any recommendation shop?
5. Any good installer shop of audio system for Exora?
6. Do the EB Std comes with fabric finish door panel? Becoz in the brochur stated with fabric door panels. But in showroom i saw all plastic???

TQ... notworthy.gif  notworthy.gif  notworthy.gif

40% highway 60% City driving.so far went off-road for about 4-5 times only..i think this brand really don't control quality...but this tires does not have much grip.
*
My stock tyres still feel quite good up to now. Just hit 7000km yesterday smile.gif Although I have read a few comments on these tyres that they aren't good.
Just wondering, for those of you who changed the tyres, what brand and variant did you change to? Also, how do you guys determine the quality / performance / comfort of a specific set of tyres? Is there like a website for tyre reviews or something? Thanks in advance biggrin.gif

anyone got the Yes 4G? just curious to know the average time it takes Proton to activate it.

have to agree with some of the earlier comments about the "worst thing that comes with Bold Premium -- its the DVD Player. it looks awkward and kinda "cheap". the rest... quite premium feel. smile.gif
*
I have the Yes 4G huddle. Mine was activated right on the day that I received my EB, immediately can use smile.gif

Agreed that the EB Premium's worst thing is the DVD Player. I never used it at all before and it looks cheap tongue.gif

So far I have yet to be able to find a format of video that the ceiling DVD unit can play. I have tried using the format stated on the manual but still failed rclxub.gif

Any given oil can be use till 10k km... no problem! BUT all depends on how the car been driven and the type of engine. But for 'TURBO' car normally highly recommended FULLY SYN and service interval will be less than 5k km! Tis is normally for heavy modded TURBOs. This is becoz the heat/temp esp inside the engine is VERY HOT in Turbos. If u use for MYVI or Saga FLX Mach 5 for 10k km then ok... thumbup.gif I dont think mineral's 20w-50 is good for EB brand new engine. It oso will effect the FC...

p/s : EB warranty is 3 yrs or 5 yrs??
*
If im not mistaken the warranty for eb is 3 years only smile.gif

Just made an appointment for service interval at Proton Mutiara D'sara.
Anyone have any experience with that SC before? How was it? smile.gif

Went for Mutiara D'sara as they had the earliest slot open on a Tuesday (1st July), as compared to Glenmarie Temasya's earliest Thursday (3rd July) slot rclxub.gif

From my experience, Toyo C1S 205/55/R16 (Made in Japan) is very good. I bought that day for my other car @ Teck Ming , Sunway RM330/pc after trade in old tyres inc balancing & alignment. I love the grip & quietness of the tyre. Very comfortable too...

Juz my 2 cents

Tread : 300
Grip : A
Temp : A

i go for achilles ATR sport. its quite ok for an indonesian brand. price of 16 inch and 17 inch is around 2XX to 300 per piece..

I remember reading from a car magazine awhile ago that the stock tyres (GTRadial Champiro BAX2) are supposed to be performance tyres. Why would proton put performance tyres on what is supposed to be a family car? tongue.gif

you are right, just think that partially it impact. but logically it's 86kg lighter, so generally should be slightly more FC consumption lower. just that trying to find out what are those 86kg.
oh then maybe you can share with us on how's the 1) FC 2) Better stability maybe?
after you change to 17?

btw i already finished my 1st service at Bandar Baru Motor Sdn Bhd. Off Jalan Balakong, batu 11 cheras.

i got the rm95 service voucher and only need to top up rm120 to go fully synthetic. the only option are shell or petronas. and he also offered me fuel x1r fuel additive (rm28) which i declined. haha

but  service wise is okay. got biscuit and free coffee / tea. airconditioned waiting room with Tv and astro. and they do accept walk in customers.. so far so good.  icon_rolleyes.gif

about the modifications they didnt say anything
*
What modifications did you do to your EB?
I just sent in my EB to Proton Mutiara Damansara branch for 5000km service today. I forgot to tell them I don't want the X1R additive doh.gif

hoping to get feedback...

i m curious to know how often is it for you guys... the fan continue to run (to cool down engine) after you turn off the ignition. i think this applies only to the CFE model.

i get that almost every morning.
*
Yes the fan continues to run after you turn off the engine. And yes I get that every morning too. So it's all very normal. The fan will stay on longer especially when I have been doing spirited driving smile.gif

just some observations...

* the "leather" seems to easily attract dirt. i've gotten foot prints, etc... :S
* the auto transmission on the CFE feel like it shift up gear too soon. can feel "vibration" at lower speed -- something similar to manual cars when you're on low speed and try to use like Gear 4 or Gear 5.
* side mirror: can't go all the way to the max. i was hoping to get it to go further but can't. so end up... half the mirror still showing the side of the Exora
* interior of the car... everything is 'higher'. seats are higher, etc... end up... when i want to reach out to the cup holder, etc... need to stretch a bit...
* those holders and coin boxes... somehow, not designed nicely. honestly, i dunno where to keep my smart tag. if i put in glove compartment... it somehow seems far in the exora. same with CDs and DVDs. where to keep? biggrin.gif
* glove compartment. dunno why they implement the soft opening. so s-l-o-w to open. *sigh*

some Qs...
* for the model with the auto-fold side mirror, can we still manually fold the side mirror if we forgot to fold it after coming out?
* there's one 'triangle' glass near the dashboard on both sides. i hear vibration sound coming from here, especially during low speed. anyone else get this?
* the same triangle glass location... feels like such a waste of space. anyone got any idea what can be placed here (other than soft toys) -- like maybe some holder, etc so can put GPS, smartphone, etc?
*
- That's the benefit of having leather seats no? Easier to just wipe the dirt off rather than having cloth seats which when stained you can't do anything much.
- Agreed that the CVT transmission isn't refined
- Agreed that the side mirror isn't as adjustable as I want it to be
- Exora is quite a wide car, so I guess it is quite expected that it's gonna be a stretch to reach for things lol
- Smart tag I put it in the compartment below the steering column
- The glove compartment soft opening gives it a "premium" feel impression to my friends when they first saw it LOL

- Auto fold side mirrors can still be manually folded no problems
- Chances are that the vibration is coming from your dashboard, not the small window smile.gif

QUOTE(mydragoon @ Jun 30 2014, 04:11 PM)
that really lousy DVD player...

i tried burning a few home videos (mp4 format) into a DVD-R. inserted into the player... nothing. :S

anyone know how useful is this thing?

wish it was some android-based player so can mod it... this thing as it is... really useless.
*
I do agree that the DVD player is quite crappy, but then again you can't expect much from a car that's priced like this laugh.gif

QUOTE(doey @ Jul 1 2014, 02:55 AM)
The player only works with mpeg1 or mpeg2 format (dvd format). Avi is just a shell. You guys need to use video converter to convert other format to mpeg format. Use only avi or mpg shell extension. I've tried many formats and almost give up until I read the manual that says only works with mpeg format.
Oh... and another experiment that I've tried is using media player to connect with the player through aux/av in. It works depends on your media player power source...
Good luck trying ...
*
Same here. I tried a few formats but everything didn't work until I read the manual. I didn't bother trying anymore since I never use the player anyway laugh.gif

Mine's the premium with the turbo emblem and I didn't get the GPS unit. Instead I got a Yes 4G Huddle with free 2GB per month (for 1 year). More worth it imo biggrin.gif

that tire maximum speed is 240km/h per hour.and our exora can hit above 200km/h..
*
I've tried hitting 180km/h for a short while on SKVE once. It still feels planted and stable but the wind noise and tire noise were incredibly loud. Not surprising since that's an insane speed to be travelling at especially in an MPV tongue.gif

Sent my EB for 5000km service at Mutiara D'sara branch today. Overall very good and satisfied with the service there. Was told that my car would be ready around 3pm, received a call informing me it was ready for collection at 3.15pm. Complained about my squeaky seats and they rectified it perfectly smile.gif

those who got the 4G huddle...

rm60 credit per month... can carry forward if not finished using? coz so far, i think best deal is still the VP25... can buy 2x.

anyone converted to postpaid plan? do we still get the montly credit? post paid plan... cheaper. the super pack 48 (i think). no contract.

just realised... huddle charger is miniUSB, not micro. ouch... extra charger to carry. thought i could also use my powerbank on this thing... looks like i can't.

oh ya... 2nd tank of petrol. the FC...
[attachmentid=4038415]

If i'm not mistaken, the credit DOES get carried forward. I recall seeing about RM180 of credit the last time i checked, because I don't use it that often laugh.gif

And yes the FC does become worse right before service is due. Before my service, I was getting 7.5km/L.
After service its back up to 9km/L wink.gif
