hey, thanks for u time! im looking for a tablet/convertable pc.

1. Preferred Brand: Any brand EXCEPT ASUS (very poor quality control and poor software updates. Partly due to the fact they release new products too frequently, thus abandoning/ couldn't care less about yesterday's products.)

2. Budget: 2-3k

3. Usage: Office usage, light photo editing, light gaming.

4. Other requirements:
- windows 8 or 8.1 (NOT RT).
- has USB attached to the tablet, not the keyboard/dock.
- keyboard removable.
- optional: 3G/LTE support. More than 1 USB. Well position speaker.

thx in advance

apart from what sifu TJ suggested, can consider this as well.

Microsoft
Surface Pro, i5-3317U + Intel HD4000 + (1920x1080;touch) + 64GB SSD@RM2749[680g], 4GB, W8P

take note that the keyboard is sold separately.

+1, can consider this one as well nod.gif
Since Surface 2 is already out, the price of the Surface Pro is way cheaper now, probably around RM2k only, definitely worth considering thumbup.gif

Thanks for the suggestion. I had a look at Msoft surface pro and acer P3. both seems to have the requirement i need.

I read somewhere saying msoft surface pro had low battery life which is suppose to be improved at surface pro 2. any idea whats the price like for surface pro1?

I dint notice msoft surface pro sells their keyboard separately.. any idea how much the keyboard cost?

Also just out of curiosity, which of the tablets have less difficulty in finding their accesories? (eg screen protector, and casing) I had a TF300TG, was kinda difficult to find for it.

Anyone had any experience with Asus' G56JR? Just came out recently, retails for RM4199. Is it a good buy? smile.gif

The MS Surface Pro is not really that "low" in terms of battery life, at around 5 hours WiFi surfing nod.gif Of course, the SP 2 is much better since its running on power-saving Haswell processors, in additional to the optional power cover (additional battery).

There are loads of accessories for the Surface/Surface Pro (even handbags!), just head on to Microsoft to check them out. The prices can be easily Googled as well icon_rolleyes.gif

* Upgrade to at least 8GB RAM, that will help with multitasking and Photoshop work

availability of accessories is okay but choices of variety are kinda limited but who cares about varieties anyway. laugh.gif

FluffyTee regarding the keyboard cover, depends on what you want to get. there are 2 types, one is Touch Cover (flat surfaced keyboard using touch sensitive keys) and Type Cover (traditional laptop keyboard cover). Touch Cover is cheaper and lighter than Type Cover. for price, RM37x something for Touch Cover and RM41x something for Type Cover.

Maybe these:
15.6"
Lenovo
Z510T, i5-4200U + Nvidia GT740M + (1366x768, touch)@RM2599[2.2kg], 4GB, 1TB, backlit, W8; 2 yrs

Asus Malaysia offers very bad warranty support, you might want to consider this one instead:
15.6"
MSI GE60-2PE-096MY, i7-4700HQ + Nvidia GTX860M + (1920x1080; anti-glare) @RM4199[Dynaudio], 8GB, 1TB (7200rpm) HDD, W8.1, multi-coloured backlid

* throw in an mSATA SSD with your remaining budget (if applicable)
* available for pre-order. However, its best that you wait and see what the other brands offer 1st before jumping the gun. And of course, there are several variants of each GPU, would be nice to see the exact details first

The new one should be this ba laugh.gif
15.6"
Asus N550JK-CN026H, i7-4700HQ + Nvidia GTX850M (DDR3) + (1920x1080) + Bluray@RM3899[2.6kg], 4GB, 1TB, W8.1

Not sure how this DDR3 GTX850M (if it's even correct) will stack up against a GTX760M hmm.gif
Of course, for your budget you could already get an Nvidia GTX860M

You get what you pay for laugh.gif
The Y510p offers very good specs for the price, built quality is average nod.gif

We are not sure about the service quality of MSI as well since there's not really much users/info about it in Malaysia..

Illegear is a rising brand which is known for good service and customizability nod.gif
Unfortunately you will need to fork out more than RM3.5k for one nod.gif
