hi, is there anyone can tell me, which qualification will employer hire? when a degree holder and a master holder?? and i heard both qualification, the salary will more or less the same, is that true??

It depends on your job requirements. What position you're applying for ?

Master degree holders will have higher salary compare to that of Bachelor degree holders. However, it depends on whether your knowledge fulfills their job requirements or not. If you have experience in that field, you are mostly like ahead of the pack. If you are judging those without experience, I guess Master degree holds the advantage there.

Agreed. Must compare apples with apples,oranges with oranges. Two of equal degrees, the one more experienced would normally be chosen. Assuming no other factors like personality etc,which is a key factor also. And the job spec of course.

If one Masters one Bachelors but Bachelors more relevant work experience sometimes employers will choose Bachelors. Very few exec level jobs u need a Masters grad unless it is a technical specialism. Which is why u get many many youngish MBAs who cannot find appropriate level work, one reason is the crappy ness of their MBA, another is that they are overtrained for the junior level jobs but lack specialist knowledge or experience for the higher level managerial positions.

I've personally interviewed one MBA(from the Kemayan programme) who was clueless, i tell you, clueless!!!

degree wif experience surely will be better than a fresh master degree holders.....

Yeap. The reason why employers hire bachelor degree holders with experience is because of their exposure to working world. Some master degrees holders doesn't have working experienec at all. Here's the comparison I made so far:

Bachelor degree & Master degree - Both have no experience and therefore, Master degree has the advantage

Bachelor degree (with exp.) & Master degree (w/o exp.) - Bachelor degree holder has the advantage.

Anyway, those are part of it. Employers might look into your personal attributes such as your interpersonal skill and knowledge. Don't worry so much about these. Just as long you did well in your interview, you still have the chance of getting that job.

Honestly, i think from an employers perspective the experience is more important. If however they need the paper qualifications to actually secure contracts (e.g. fulfill govt tender requirements etc) or for boosting credibility e.g. professional audits/reports etc,then the paper quals make a difference or become lynchpin. Otherwise, employers in the main, would rather have the experienced mandur type of fella, who knows and can do everything. The can-do guy as they say.

there's another view that u guys forgot. the pay. if both a degree holder and master holder can do the same job with the same result (maybe coz they're fresh, or same level of experience), why should they pay extra just bcoz this guy got master? same goes to dip holder. and i agree with LYFfan than master holder are more valuable in 'boosting credibility' of a company/department.

My company pay RM500 higher for Master holders

decent english, decent it skill and shitload of contacts will get you the job

form higest to lowest possibility order in which an employer will hire:

1)Master degree with experiance, then
2)Degree with experiance, then
3)Fresh Master degree with no experiance, then
4)Fresh degree with no experiance, then
5)lots of experiance with no qualification at all (sometimes can be no.4), then
6)diploma with experiance, then
7)diploma with no experiance.

It means you talk lots of bullshit to secure the job OR you are fully/well equipped (knowledge) to blast them apart. Take your pick

Whether qualificaitons does matter depends on the job requirement. Honestly most jobs in Malaysia do not require a MAsters degree this is because a MAsters degree wil only add value when you are at a MAnagerial level. There is a wrong perception that MAsters degree at a entry level will get you higher pay. In fact with a flood of degree holders what makes you stand out is either higher qualifications, foreign degrees, experienc in MNCs and high levels of intellectual and interpersonal skills. Higher qualifications would definately help a person get a job but not higher pay. Higher pay will come in at a later stage. Just my 2 cents
