samsung update if ur status is official, then u will still get the update. but after the update, need to root again.

correct me if im wrong. i got the 4.3 update even when i was rooted.

if your phone in download mode with no increase flash counter and status is official you will receive OTA. If your flash counter increase and status is official update thru Kies3 only otherwise thru odin

3. How you flash your TWRP? after flash stock without rebooting you straight flash TWRP? or in Galaxy S5 you have TWRP and after flashing stock TWRP no more and you only have stock recovery... sweat.gif doh.gif rclxub.gif

Changing mobo is not a good move since S3 is so cheap RM10xx or you could aim for 2nd hand...

First I rooted my S3  for the first time & flashed using TWRP to Galaxy S5 Mini Custom Rom. And then because the rom is too laggy for me, I decided to revert to the original stock rom. ok.. now i know how to advise.

1. Once you ODIN to stock 100% sure you will lost your root and you don't need to unroot before flashing.
2. Soft brick = you can't even boot-up the phone
3. Try below:-

i. confirm your root status using root checker. re-root if not root.
ii. use apps like rini reboot, CWM, etc to go into recovery/ download mode. if can't most likely your
recover corrupted. You need to flash back stock to have this mode. if you can go into either, reflash your
TWRP
iii. last resort.. factory reset or go to the entire cycle again. flash stock, root and flash twrp.. icon_rolleyes.gif

Like Androidone told you, you have flash 4.3 and now if you flash to 4.1.2 definitely you will not able to register to the network reason being 4.1.2 and 4.3 store their connection folder aka EFS differently.

Please bear in mind that once you do factory reset your contact and other data will be wipe off.

What you can do now is,

1. Download 4.3 again and flash using ODIN again.
2. if you still want to use 4.1.2 download the Modem file and flash using ODIN. Download Modem_i9300XXEMG4.tar.md5 from below link

not really.. cause some modem file is for asia some for europe and others.... but due to telco setup some modem file is suitable for Asia country like NA8... no ham to try it if have not... blush.gif

Bro... you may share your problem in details i long time never come in. maybe you share your story line like. How you get into this mess? like going from 4.1.2 to 4.3. you are from stock....
