the Antec Strictly VP-550P looks like it has the same specs as Antec Basiq VP550P 550 W as both supports 30A at both 12V rails and max power of 540W

Looks like it has good reviews and antec generally do make good psu. You can ask Cable707 as I believe he owns the the same type of psu.

For enermax, that model I couldn't find any review from the web so I couldn't vouch whether it's good or not. blush.gif

Hi would like some suggestion from you guys.

I want to get new parts for my desktop.

Proc, ram and mobo.

My desktop mainly use for photo editing, and some gaming.

Other parts such I will not upgrade such as Zotac GTS250 512 and Samsung F3 1TB.

Thanks in advance.

Enermax is actually well known for designing good power supplies, and also manufacturing those power supplies. However, the NAXN series is actually made by CWT, and is the same as the Corsair CX series of power supplies. Hardware Secrets has done a review on the 600W version, and it is good for its price, thus giving better value compared to similar power supplies.

Based on the circuit designs, and the load tests (information obtained from techpowerup for Antec, and Hardware Secrets for Enermax), I would put my money on the Enermax power supply. Also, the fact that CWT also makes the same PSU for Corsair as the CX series, then that also helps to reinforce the design since it passed both Enermax's and Corsair's validation tests. Enermax and Corsair are famous for good power supplies, and they have a reputation to maintain.

FYI, the VP550P is a Delta-manufactured unit, which is considered one of the best OEMs for PSUs... Prebuilt machines tend to pick Delta as OEM for their power supplies... The Antec Signature series are a good testimony to that. tongue.gif

Note that the VP550P does not have Active PFC, and hence the unit only accepts 240V, and it does not have 80+ certification due to lack of an Active PFC circuit. tongue.gif

the vs550 is definitely corsair one of corsair's lower end psu model, so fair its been good for me (will change once i'm upgrading my gpu again). hmm, that mobo can change to b85 or h81 chipset instead. Use the extra money to get at least a core i3.

Hi again Sifus. I was gonna order my pc today but it turns out that NavoTech doesn't have half of what they've listed in their brochure so I'm gonna have to go to KL to find the parts I need doh.gif I went through 3 salespeople before one finally noticed that the build I showed them based on their brochure, which they recommended I check out btw, is actually missing half the parts because they don't have any left. No 1TB HDs either. Only 500GB left rclxub.gif I have this one question though, does it matter what motherboard I get? Cuz one of my salespeeps got me a little confused about the VGA/HDMI thingy that I have no idea about (google hasn't helped much either). I just picked up an old monitor that my dad has lying around unused. It's a HP W1907. Could you recommend a new build around that? Budget around RM2200 or preferably less. An additional RM300 extra need to save for ori Windows license. Casing I'll probably grab from NavoTech since it's too bulky to carry around KL back to the bus station. Probably gonna grab a GTX660 if Viewnet or any of the shops have any or maybe just from lingloong since his price is really nice. Worst case scenario if I can't find good prices/parts tomorrow I'll just order everything online from Idealtech xD

Original NavoTech Build

What I was gonna get from NavoTech after input from this thread but can't because half the parts are out of stock:
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

So I'm gonna have to find the missing bits elsewhere since they said they can build it for me for a small fee (RM30 only).

I think Linglong should have the components you need. Just PM him the list of what you want, and if he has it all, bundle it for a better price and just walk into his store to purchase. smile.gif
