Thank you so much for the recommendation! Really appreciate.

But I would like to ask one more thing, how bout extra cooler? Do I need it? Cause I am scared it might get quite hot while rendering videos and stuff. What will you recommend for that?
*
Honestly the stock cooler should suffice but if you wanna get the CPU cooler and the fan quieter, then I'd recommend a Cooler Master hyper 212x for an extra Rm100+

QUOTE(deadboy 164 @ Apr 9 2014, 12:40 AM)
Thanks, man. Let say I want to get everything from viewnet, which GC should I get from viewnet?
*
RM420 for a GTX750 is hard to beat really, the closest one would be Gigabyte's offering at RM489 in Viewnet's pricelist but do check out the Leadtek ones just in case

QUOTE(MrLoo @ Apr 9 2014, 12:58 AM)
Hi sifus, is palit gtx 750 ti oc better? or gainward gtx660 golden sample? both 2gb ddr5
*
the GtX660 is the stronger card here

QUOTE(Tomtom. @ Apr 9 2014, 07:05 AM)
then i have to stretch out my budget . hmm maybe end of this month i buy the gpu and psu. which gpu of r9 280x u recommend for me? or should i get gainward 770 2gb? should cn play most of the games at ultra right?
*
Definitely the R9 280X biggrin.gif the Sapphire Vapor-X or toxic versions are viable options

Budget : RM 1000

Purpose : Upgrading

Current Rig :

Motherboard : Gigabyte G41M-Combo
Processor : Intel Core 2 Duo E8400
RAM : 4GB DDR2
Graphic : EVGA Nvidia GTS 250 1GB
HDD : WD 320GB (currently having 2 x 1TB WD Ext HDD)
PSU : Aero Cool AF - 500
Casing : Some cheapo E-value casing xD
Monitor : Samsung 943BWX 1440x900

Hardware that will be reused : RAM(?), HDD, PSU, Case, Monitor

Games and Softwares that I use Frequently : Chrome with multiple tabs, League of Legends, occasional graphic demanding gamings (Bioshock Infinite, Civilization V, TombRaider, etc), Premiere Pro, After Effect, Photoshop, Lightroom and of course, office works.

Personal Preferences : No hard preferences, just need some improvement over my current rig, preferably CPU and GPU.

Location : Petaling Jaya
I am planning to sell off some of the parts here and top up some money to RM1000. Is it possible for some upgrade room?
*
This is the best that I could come up with based on your budget...

AMD FX 4300 4-cores RM389
Asrock 960GC-GSFX RM179
G-BYTE GTX750 oc 1GB RM489

Total RM1057

Personally though I'd recommend having a little more budget for a better PSU and GPU

I can top up a bit more, but I want to know whether it will be worth to top up that RM100-RM200?
EDIT: I just checked the FX 4300, performance wise, it's lower than the i3-4130?
*
yes the extra budget will mean a world of differences

If you think it's overbudget, tone down the GPU to MSI GTX650 OC 1GB GDDR5 RM379 (Price is from Viewnet).

QUOTE(dannrawr @ Apr 22 2014, 11:58 PM)
Hi guys, right now im installing the gainward gtx 760 phantom to my asrock b85m pro4. I also have tplink at pci 2.

The problem is if i put my gpu at pcie 1 which is pcie3.0, it block both the pci 1 and 2 where i put my wifi card.

Can i put my gpu at pcie 2 slot so that i can use my wifi card?
Would there be any diff on performance? Thanks
*
that's one of the may hiccups in using a smaller mobo, the layout of the B85M pro4 will definitely place the wifi card very close to the intake of the GPU, but given that it's a Phantom cooler so its a dual fan right?? no big issues there but temps will rise a few degrees compared when you have a little more space.. this is true to my HD7850 as well when I was using an M-Atx board and wifi pci card tongue.gif

a USB wifi dongle may be the best solution here, else get a pci-e wifi card and stick it at the bottom PCIe lane wink.gif

QUOTE(Zgames @ Apr 23 2014, 12:00 AM)
Nope. Don't think it'll affect much. Maybe like 1-2 fps difference but that isn't clearly visible to our eyes wink.gif
*
I wouldn't recommend this, 8x pci yes no apparent difference but at 4x you're losing more performance

QUOTE(rav3n82 @ Apr 23 2014, 08:08 AM)
If not mistaken, the second PCI-E lane runs at x4, as compared to normal x16 on the first lane. I would recommend running it at the first, since you will suffer some performance hit.
*
+1, my thoughts exactly smile.gif

thanks bro.
yeah few hours after that i found bottom is x4.

which usb wifi dongle you recommend? since i have to sell my pci wifi card.
*
Not to say it's the best but I installed the D-Link DWA 130 for my folks at home which seems to work pretty well across 2 walled partitions over 6 meters

Hey guys, emergency! Neighbour asked me to help him get a rig at RM600, without monitor keyboard speakers etc. anyone got any suggestions? Heading to lowyat in two hours! Strictly no more than RM600! Thanks
Oh, and only for web browsing and free DOS
*
At that budget, a 2nd hand unit may be the best option...

because at new... here is my best attempt:

AMD A4 4000 RM169
MSI A55M-E33 RM179
Kingston 4GB Value RAM RM119
WD Blue 500GB HDD RM159
Cheapo PSU 500W RM49
Gigabyte GZ Series RM69

Total RM744

I also feel bad about the PSU in this suggestion

Tom's Hardware has a report indicating that the Phantom's cooling solution is not as efficient as MSI's Twin Frozr or Gigabyte's WindForce, based on measurements, there is up to 10degC delta in performance. Does anyone have any issues with the temps of Phantoms that you are using now?
*
Hardly the issue unless someone is gunning for high OC clocks, most of us will run our GPUs at stock or mild OC so a little higher temp compared to the Twin-Frozr or Windforce series is not a concern so long as it's better than stock cooler

Mobo: Asrock Z87 xtreme 3 -449
RAM: Corsair 8GB DDR3 1600MHz -229

rm3882, can anyone give me any suggestions to tweak this build for best money to performance ratio?
*
lower down the mobo spec to a B85 or H87, should save you about RM200, everything else is good to go

Hi all! I'm planning on a rig right now to be made from somewhere within December 2014 to April 2014. I'll be using it as a Digital Audio Workstation whilst it being able to handle gaming. I know it's a long way to go, but I'd rather start on my list now then later.

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

These are my required components. If you know where to get the components for a really cheap price, do PM me  brows.gif

Location: Petaling Jaya
Budget: RM4500//
Usage: Gaming, Video Editing, Pro Audio Editing
Required list before: 15th December 2014

Thanks in advance!  thumbup.gif  thumbup.gif
*
I suggest that you wait till August 2014 at least to get a better quote, SSD and RAM price may drop, there's the new Intel chip coming soon, as well as new AMD chips as well
