car gloss is more thick compare to hobbies paint.
u can try with super clear gloss.

Can't imagine the amount of rubbing compound he used afterwards

if you mean gloss paint, probably not..it will take lots of clear coat on top of gloss color and maybe wet sanding and rubbing compound to get it to shine that well...it took me about 3-4 layers of clear to get my kampfer this shiny...

I guess most of the pros are using the stuff shown in some Plamo-Tsukurou vids, a sort of two-component-resin-clear which stays liquid for a while to harden while on the surface. Therefore it can be wetsanded shortly after even to level-out transfers. Looked very effective...but the stuff must be toxic as hell, for this was the only "color" they put on a serious respirator.

Yay but requires a bit of fixing because to me, the joints are a bit loose and makes him rather flimsy.. and the thumbs.. if u think b brand is bad.. this one.. god i hate those thumbs
But he looks good nonetheless.. i would still recommend it

i got several daban HG: sinanju, geara zulu.. they have loose joint here and there, same kind of problem?
what's with the thumb? cannot hold weapon problem?

reason why this come into my mind is the chrome plated katanas in a kit for less than 100

Thumb LOVES to pop off.. especially if u want to hold the damn tactical arms.. can say its extemely bothersome
If just katanas, very little problems.. however my MG ARF now feels a bit loose, need to do a bit of joint tightening.. not sure what u meant by geara zulu loose.. mine is quite sturdy.. but maybe because i got tighten joints right away.. i also cant remenber.. any loose joints i sure tighten on the spot
