During my time, there was hardly anybody taking up a B Full license so I got the bike all to myself the entire time.

I already warned my wife of the possibility of having a queue to use the bike during class, so her strategy is to plan her leave from work and pick a midweek slot like this morning where there are no other B Full students.

I told her not to mention that we have 2 B Full bikes at home to practice on so that the driving school won't shortcut & shortchange her in her lessons (nanti derang cincai ajar pastu suruh mintak husband sambung ajar di rumah & practice sendiri).

But seriously.... that statement by the driving school really takes the cake lah.

That's like sending your kid to math tusyen and the tusyen center tells your kid to learn math at home from parents first before coming to class.




Driving academies allow you to use their facilities to practice on your own using your own bike meh??

Not sure. But during my practice. Got 1 guy practice on his own bike or his agent bike. The agent basically teach him how to ride and explaining stuff to him. Sometimes they go out of the circuit and ride on the parking lot. And go back in again.

Do they teach on 1 to 1 basis? I think they don't want to risk dropping the bike or worse, injure yourself because they don't have the resources to do that.

in the institute that i went to. only one certified trainer to 4 students. and heck i learned very little from them. only when i paid for extra time they will guide me through

They do, if you pick a very unpopular time slot... like Tuesday mornings 8am-1pm where no B Full student would want to show up.

My wife texted back saying the instructor found a solution by getting her started on a kapcai for the first 2 hours, before moving up to the MT-07.

Well I'm happy to hear that, at least the instructor is experienced and conscientious enough to find ways to get a total noob started. At least dia x cuci tangan. The guys behind the office counter however are the ones giving condescending 'advice'.

I need her to go thru her first 5 hours of instruction at the driving school before I supplement them with practice at home on my bike.

As soon as she's comfortable managing the bike, I'll have to take her on easy, short distance Sunday rides as much as possible.

I wouldn't expect 1 to 1. From their point of view, it's fair, that some students purposely went for B-full lessons with zero experience and caused damages to the learners bike. A damaged bike upsets other schedules, too, not to mention exam slots.

Fair enough, if they know you need extra guidance before handling a 200kg bike. Perhaps, set aside underbone with clutch just for this kind of learners would be better also.

Some other countries allow to use own bike, but that's a different culture altogether.

I have no experience riding any bike for the matter and was told to use their er6n right away even though i requested for a kapchai to train abit first before getting on a big bike. luckily i have experience with driving a manual car else it will be a nightmare handling a bike with a clutch.

What you mean 'affordable'? If you mean brand new, yes is true, quite pricey.
If second hand, 1~2k also got.
Modify underbone to manual clutch also can.
