CPU-Z can't recognise the proc la..the proc isn't released yet. Thats why it says opteron. Note that the core name is blank. But you can see 4 cores and L3 cache meaning its definitely a K10 processor.

I've just heard rumours that the screenshot might be faked, but I've yet to find confirmation whether it is or not.
It depends, most AM2 rigs don't take up that much power. At 2.4GHz most AM2 rigs only take 150W at most excluding graphic card (which highest is 120-150W for 8800 or 7950GX2 for each card)
Wei, your vcore damn scary for a 90nm processor..1.6v+...  blink.gif
*
damn scary??yeah..kinda scary.....
but actually....my proc can boot 3.0ghz @ 1.5v then i increase it to 1.57v to make sure it got enough power.....so what do u mean for a 90nm proc to use 1.57v~1.6v tu run at 3ghz sound wierd??this one is Windsor ar...not Brisbane....

QUOTE(-pWs- @ Apr 26 2007, 10:52 PM)
I have ICute PSU before. It really not good in maintaining those voltages.
The voltage for them is too far which are needed.

Let say,
12V --- ICute supplies 11.7x whereas my Acbel 12.03 - 12.06.

This is what i meant.
-pWs-
*
yeah..the 12v rail is sure important in OC....
the more stable and constant ur rail is more the better ur PSU will be and much2 safer ur rig will be....

maybe he means tat 1.57V is quite high loL...
i've read sum reviews on tom's hardware tat it is best to hav vcore at the most 1.5V to ensure the life span of the proc...
*
yeah...but this setup just for a while..
just for the test...not using it for 24 hours.... nod.gif

24hours just use 2.8ghz @ 1.45v tongue.gif

how much vdimm i should pump? is it save to pump it to vdimm 2.10?
can u advise me on the ram timing i should set
and the divider to DDR400/DDR533?
*
there are a divider table in the 2st post...like kalakatu says....if u are new...try get some guide before start OC....it help a lot... nod.gif

proc or mobo ar??must be ar this two problem?
try update ur mobo bios..
and try some adjusting in the OC setting...

Is there an overclocking guide for Biostar Tforce 570u? Info on this board is sparse on google.

I'm a casual overclocker, and I've only OC-ed 1 system before this. (P4 1.7@2.0 on a P4PE). When I jumped to AM2, I was surprised by the many options in the bios.
*
yeah..AMD got many function to consider if wanna OC...the is the best of AMD... nod.gif

tongue.gif  tongue.gif

when my system is put under the full blast aircon, it boot easily when play with higher voltage (1.575v~1.7v) with higher clock (2.9GHz~3GHz)

but

in the same situation (under the full blast aircon), my system cant even boot when i put a voltage (1.4v~1.5v) and play with lower clock like (2.3GHz~2.7GHz)

except

when i clear cmos and my system set back to stock (2.0GHz at 1.2v), under the same situation also can still boot cool.gif
*
errrmmmm... hmm.gif
that also a cold boot is im not mistaken.... nod.gif
not enough power tu pump up the system...
me also got this problem...
when using 3600++ OC up to 2.7ghz my system cannot turn on after a while been shut down....just can turn on at 2.5ghz...
but after change to 3800++ it all perfact...
although at 3.0ghz setting still can turn on... rclxms.gif

i have a question ar, we all overclock kau kau...but have we ever tried to make a fanless CPU ar? Currently im testing out lower voltages at stock speed and trying to make a fanless cpu (experiment mar) anyone care to join me? =D

edit:typo
*
can make fanless system...someone already did it....also can OC it..
use good HSF that can be fanless like synthe ninja or something better then it...

QUOTE(kucalana @ Apr 30 2007, 01:18 AM)
they all want performance.even silent is performance(wc kits)
*
yup..if want WC kits....go for the real high performance one...

QUOTE(bryanyeo87 @ Apr 30 2007, 01:30 AM)
some dun wan so much performance mar..can boot up, surf web can d lor...not alwiz play game mar

but from my current test, i sacrifice 6%performance for an additional 25% lower temp on stock HSF, maybe can even go lower? anyway, gotta wait till my water block comes in b4 i OC/UC kau kau >_>
*
performance not alwiz for game..doing work...surfing also need performance for the speed of loadinig time....why need lower the performance where u need can get a good performance with a silent system?? hmm.gif

yup...soulfly is right...check the PSU.....
either not enough power sweat.gif ..thah is impossible....or it is hot... nod.gif

Then, u can oc ur proc all the way regardless of how much vcore u pump

also not to forget ur proc capabilities to OC it all the way.... laugh.gif

yup....what TerryZeroX says is right...
better OC from bios...more function...and u can know better about ur system.... nod.gif

ermm..what is the diff between windsor n brisbane? i mean from oc view, heat n performance..

tq:)

Added on May 9, 2007, 10:05 amhuhu sorry my mistake..
*
windsor = 90nm
brisbane = 65nm

brisbane can OC higher then normal windsor...
if u got good windsor...can OC like brisbane....but brisbane use low vcore then windsor..

for performance....maybe depends on ur rig spec....

cpu performance, brisbane lags slightly behind of windsor at the same speed/cache size due to higher L2 cache latency.

thought thier L2 cache is the same.... hmm.gif
