never heard about it.. coz superPI test for ram..
and again we still donno it's using different core if we start with 2 clients..
if prime make sense.. but better use dual core version..
*
superpi test both ram n cpu smile.gif

QUOTE(casperito @ Jan 12 2007, 10:18 AM)
running 1 super pi is enough alreadi...
if its unstable then there would be error...
*
LOL if it's stable with one superPi, it doesnt mean it will run stable with two. wink.gif

Running one is not enough. For dual core cpu, if u run only one superpi, ur load will hit 50% only. Run two will give u full load.

I read somewhere in this thread x2 if run superpi will use 50% of cpu but when i tried mine it 100%. FYI i didnt reinstall windows when changed the proc but it detect the proc correctly as x2 3800+.
*
All dual core CPU will use 50% load if u only run ONE superPi.

In ur case, have u checked ur task manager? It has one or two CPU graphs appearing there? I have a friend who just upgraded to a dualy and didnt reinstall the window. It appeared that window cant detect the 2nd core. U need to repair or reinstall the window....or reinstall the ACPI driver.

i always thought that superpi is just a single threaded application, which means it loads up in just one core (which may explain 100% usage on one core)...but i could be wrong.
*
Yeap u r right.... but what i meant was that the overall load is 50% (one core full load, the 2nd core idle).

About the reinstalling winXP when upgrading to dualcore....i noticed that only some version of winXPs need that.

Hunt17, what cpu r u using? smile.gif What Vcore to achieve 2.6GHz?

amd optimizer didn't solve the dually issue?
*
U mean the dual core patch?
I'm not too sure, but i heard it solves the affination issue. e.g. single threaded program should run on one core 100%....better performance than 50% - 50%

i apply the amd optimizer but it still at 50%. Anyway it not an issue for me or should it be? Are there any degraded performance issue?
*
I dont know...i've never own any X2 tongue.gif
But if u r running one superPi..then the overall load should be 50%.

hi.. Socket 940=AM2.ya u're rite for that but AM2 socket is not in K8 family bro..

K8 family is for Socket 754 & 939..  nod.gif
*
No...
It's true that AM2 has 940pins but people dont call it 940 bcos the early generation of FX/opteron has 940pins (different pin position than am2). The Hyper 6+'s S940 is not refered to AM2.

BTW, all Athlons r still based on K8. It's not the socket, it's the architecture.

owh.. really.. my mistake.. blush.gif

but when to choose the Heatsink compatibility if stated there support K8 family dosen't mean that it is support AM2 rite.. whistling.gif
that's im not sure ler bor why ppl dun take it.

maybe it is still new chipset.. laugh.gif

but i'm using it just fine.. even can OC till 2.7Ghz.. thumbup.gif
*
Yeah...bcos last time K8 only has S754,S939 and S940. They dont use S940 for AM2 even though it has 940 pins to avoid confusion with old S940...

Hi guys,

Would like to know for OC, between DFI's N2-M2 Infinity, N Ultra 2 - M2 and Abit NF-M2 nView. Which of these is better for OC ?
*
I'm very certain that both the DFI will oc better than Abit (i have seen ultra2 hitting near 400HTT)...

M2 infinity and ultra2 should oc almost the same; except that ultra2 has some modded BIOS out there (seems like no modder using M2).

cpu at 1.350...smooth at 2.200..
but when i've increase the fsb to 225, but it's stuck at window logo..
why arr??

all of u really want to see double super PI? there u go..
and prime reaching 72C is no no no...

atleast it's proven that AMD X2 can still work up to 60-70C...
wondering when can get the better cooler...

1.3xxVcore to reach 2.6GHz?
Nice chip!! rclxms.gif

since more ppl have join..please share with me here..what's u'r highest HTT u can achive with TFORCE 550??Pls provide u'r setup+setting in BIOS and BIOS version.thanks.Happy o/cing
*
I think all TForce is having 283HTT problem from BIOS. What i recommend u to do is boot at 280HTT and use clockgen to go from there. So far, I have tried 333HTT and I havent hit the wall yet (no time to test further).

So, ur CPU can do 2.3GHz at stock Vcore? What is your stock vcore (VID)? And what is your stepping? tongue.gif

so far this is only the result..maybe will push more next time..
currently no time to run the stress and stability utility...will do it later
[attachmentid=189034]

update - but sometimes the voltage will go lower...weird??? sweat.gif
[attachmentid=189041]
*
That's bcos biostar tforce will revert vcore reading to VID when it exceeds 1.5V. Tforce tends to overvolt than undervolt....u must be putting 1.475V at BIOS...am i correct? tongue.gif

not a big difference..570U has more SATA and newer chipset..
and of course the new one is more recommended..
yup..how do u know that... blink.gif
plus,my vcore keep changing between 1.488v and 1.25v..
any idea whats goin on?
*
like i said....it actually fluctuates between 1.488 and 1.5V...cpuz will change >1.5V to VID. Our CPU's VID is 1.25V.

If u want accurate vcore reading, the monitoring software is pretty accurate.

Let me know ur highest oc...since we have the same cpu n mobo. So far I'm stuck at 2.6GHz...high vcore :S.

you using Biostar Tforce 570U and 3800 x2 too hmm.gif so same here too la bro..

i managed to clock the highest stable till 2.7Ghz.. can boot at 2.8Ghz but not prime stable sweat.gif( dun dare to increase vcore over 1.55v)

btw.. wats the highest vcore u use?
*
Yeap same.
I have hit 1.55V in bios (sensor shows 1.57V!)
Sempronic n your CPU r different from ours....

thanks..actually im not using it for oc but only for checking my vcore and clock..
btw un-installed it already...plus all the utilities that bundled together from the driver cd..
but now running on default..will try to oc again later
its from bulk order..u might wanna check there but i doubt it still available for sale..
but i think lyp got a plenty of stocks... smile.gif
*
doh.gif
I think u misread me.
I was telling u to read the vcore and temp using the Biostar T hardware monitor utility, not the OC tool. doh.gif
The monitoring one is pretty accurate...it wont change ur clock.

I just don't understand why certain AM2 defaults with 1.2V, some with 1.3V, some with 1.35V, or worse 1.4V (like mine) shakehead.gif
*
1.2V to 1.25V is 65Watter
1.3V to 1.35V is 89Watter

But i have not seen 1.4V for AM2 ler....probably there r a few out there?
