Then their website should indicate it , it was one of the key factor I din't choose it also, RM60 diff I could use elsewhre ya  doh.gif  but oklah, so far i use asus boards no complains

But for HSF, I got spare TT golden orb 2, the backplate provided is 2 holes to screw on mobo, but I see my mobo is 4 holes for backplate. The TT Golden Orb on the box says support K8 and Socket 940. Dude at the shop told me AM2 can use one, socket 940 mah... Any comments?

dude.. that's why i sold my zalman cnps9500LED..though very good cooler..
s940 mean for those server proc.. not AM2..
the only problem is the clip.. if only can get the clip fit.. it's consider done..

i not see many AM2 cooler.. for zalman got other version.. cnps9500LED AM2 which is green led.. can be used for all platform..

so for tips.. better search that's stated 'AM2'

Errr guys i wanna try to oc my proc but is my mobo good enough to do slight oc? lets say from 2.2ghz to 2.4ghz? my mobo is Gigabyte GA-M55SLI-S4 NF4 SLI
*
lol i told u already.. let us know ur bios option..
especially cpu voltage, ram voltage, ram timming setting, htt multiplier
u need to observe the bios than we will know can oc or not..
if u really want to try... increase the fsb from 200 to 220 in 2-5 incremental..

normally we call them 'warm boot' and 'cold boot'..
http://www.smartcomputing.com/editorial/di...yclopedia&guid=

actually we need to study about it further..
http://www.comptechdoc.org/hardware/pc/pcboot.html

for the simple way.. during POST.. cpu or ram not receive correct voltage to initiate them to on.. this could be bios problem psu or the mobo itself...
i'm also waiting the latest bios to resolve this issue...
me also using M2N-E.. it's rock stable when able to log windows..

One more noob question, if i didnt overclock the proc, with mid end GC and 1GB DDR2 667Mhz RAM, most of the game in this market i can play or not?

Btw, can add me to the list? my spec is:
AMD 3200 OrleansF2,
BIOSTAR TForce4 Ultra AM2
Corsair 512MB x 2 DDR2 667
160GB SATAII Seagate HDD
Chapalang Casing
CoolerMaster Real Power 450W
7300GT 128MB DDR3
*
2-3ghz cpu enough already.. good gpu will affect more on gaming..
7600gt is ok.. but if u can oc ur 7300gt maybe can save ur budget..
why ur rig not good eh?

new chip support more sata..
i think that's the only difference.. amd cpu got builtin mem controller.. so mobo chip not affect much..

while using cpu-z (ver 1.35) wrongly report the vcore.. use asus probe should be correct i think.. but for ur case better look on vcore2 temp at speedfan..
i've tried mine untill 2.45ghz.. then stop coz afraid reaching out 1.6v..
acreasing 2.4 to 2.45 will increase the temp merely 60C on load..
2.4 seems fast enough for me.. just playing 2.1ghz for all in stock.. accept tight the ram..
how far can your proc go?

if u look my screenshot here..
http://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopic=316293&st=80

i really cannot rely on cpu-z.. i saw alot of cpu-z reading errors especially on vcore... donno which one can rely.. but i looked asus probe coz same as bios..

just precaution though if ur correct vcore reading higher than u thought/saw... it could fry ur proc..

what's the bracket for? i thought the mere consent is heatsink clip...
coz after market s939's cooler have screw in the middle..
if only can get suitable clip can easily fit s939 cooler into am2..
if someone sell the clip i really regret let go my cnps9500led.. it's quite and chill good..

For temporary just Thermalright come with bracket suitable with previous Thermalright S939 cooler like XP-series. For bracket Evercool i'm not sure what type and brand heatsink can suitable since it doesn't state what brand can used. For Zalman, they're have come out with 9500LED AM2 with black heatsink and green led. cool.gif
the problem is just bought 1-2 months and the am2 ver came out.. cry.gif
just let it go.. like new but cheap..

if can get this clip.. can use easily..

i would say M2N-3 is great.. don't put it aside just becoz 1 less option..
i hope vdimm matter can be solved in the near future bios updates.. coz SLI ver using same pcb which can go to 2.5v...

M2N-3 made for ocing.. so what ever the problem asus ppl must solve it..
eventough got cold/warm boot problem (i think other brand also like that) while oc.. but when in windows it's stable..

mayb can flash sli version bios since just a pcie slot rite?
dint compare this 2... is it just the extra 1 pcie slot?
*
lol think about it also.. but afraid to try.. let someone else do first..
coz still ok for me... in default voltage also i can get to 700DDR..
now running at 215fsb.. will increase by time.. fast enough.. only think about gpu right now...

Same PCB does not mean the components are the same (take into account all those resistor values)  tongue.gif
*
i think it's just the same the different is no extra 16x pcie slot replaced with 4x

Yeah, M2N-E voltage for ram is limited. I wonder why, since it is a mid-rg mobo. Why not get the DFI nf4 Ultra-II M2 if you are afraid of RAM problem? It's cheaper than M2N-E isn't it?
*
i saw M2N-E's price below rm400

maybe ram conflict..
or try using chapalang psu.. i got that problem before when pair with CM 450w.. but chapalang psu 400w can easily bootup..

QUOTE(koie @ Aug 13 2006, 08:04 PM)
oledi try update the BIOS but no update available...i think wanna compare with other M2N-E user...they have same result with me or not...anybody have check their mobo with CPU-Z?...
