for bios..i dont do much..coz running on automatic OC..

but when using the T-Utility OC...i set 1.5 only...

between biostar and fatality,

if u think u wanna "hantam" ur mobo like im trying to do, then ok la...coz cheaper..
i bought for only RM680 maa.....so not "terasa sgt" la...if this mobo condemn... biggrin.gif
but if wanna use for long time and got extra money, go for fatality...

i'm a fan of ABIT since K7...really like to OC it..but quite expensive for fatality...

so choosing to use biostar la...

performance wise.....donno coz didn't try fatality..

fatality = overpriced

Added on February 28, 2007, 11:38 pmfatality = overpriced

actually fatality's price quoted as the same price as biostar.. that's why asking for good one..
as everybody said biostar is good... but i found fatality layout more nicer.. but the pci only 1... maybe blocked if using sli... it's hard to decide.. rclxub.gif

biostar nf590
1) 4 sata
2) good oc
3) 2 pci
4) 1 ide
5) simple active cooler
6) blue pcb

abit fatality
1) 6 sata
2) quite ok oc
3) 1 pci
4) 1 ide
5) heatpipe
6) red pcb

QUOTE(treason @ Mar 1 2007, 02:29 PM)
hey guys

im at 255 fsb now with my x2 3600+...problem is my ram divider is at 400....if i go higher it wont even go to the bios, and there will b 1 long beep and 2 short beeps...i tried to set my multiplier lower and fsb higher, also cannot..y ar? not enough vdim? its at 1.95v (board max)

thanks!!
*
what ur htt mul? try to set 3x if more than 250fsb..
and maybe vdimm not enough.. that's the only thing limiting the rock stable M2N-E...

QUOTE(jackal1950 @ Mar 1 2007, 04:15 PM)
I planning to get AMD AM2 3800+ 2.0GHz pair with either

1. MSI Nforce 550
2. Biostar Nforce 550

Which is better oc motherboard? Not planning to oc high cuz I getting normal kingston value ram. Hopefully I can oc till 2.8GHz. But to reach that do I need a better heatsink and performance ram, motherboard? Or it is easily within reach of any matching hardware.
*
don't buy MSI.. go for biostar instead.. make sure it's tforce.. if suit ur budget..

on 200 fsb... divider ddr 667 i set 1.8v..
but on fsb 266 with divider ddr 533.. ram will work on 667.. need 1.9v..
i'm still wondering why...

QUOTE(soulfly @ Mar 2 2007, 06:53 PM)
it's simple... whenever you are running on lower divider, the ram will set its timing according to SPD automatically

DDR2-400: 3-3-3-x
DDR2-533: 4-4-4-x
DDR2-667: 5-5-5-x

and tighter timing usually requires more Vdimm
i can accept if using tight timing require more vdimm... but in both setup i used same timing.. 4-4-4-12-16 1CR..

with the same timing also can use on 220 fsb, 667 divider, v1.8 .. resulting 733..
but 260 fsb.. 533 divider.. resulting 650.. must use v1.9...

is it becoz of htt increased?

according to the table, at that setting your DDR2 should be running 432MHz. was that at 1T? if yes... that might explain it.
*
isn't it 2400/9 = 266
should on ddr 533.. mean normal vdimm should be ok?

65w and 89w OCbility differ.. especially on voltage needed..

i've tried until 70C edy..
i think 60C refer to core.. sometimes unstable system not caused by temp or reached the wall... but over voltage also...

last time i need 1.55v to set 2.6ghz.. after a few burn-in 1.5v is ok...
right now.. 1.48 also can stable..

just use the orthos also can.. leave it for few hours..

i think for ur case not becoz of the cpu cannot go far.. maybe the ram divider is not right... and htt exceed 1000.. depends on mobo though...
reaching 260fsb i set 3x htt mul...

cpu also need a little training... like motorbike.. always need to full trottle to make it faster... after sometimes it will get use of it...

come on.. give some great review..
i'm eager to now how 65w or 35w or even 65nm X2 performe...
no one own it?

obviously lack of features means limitation. i would rather straight go for biostar even if i'm a noob. you just don't learn anything with a barely usable mobo.

as far as i'm concern, most Brisbane will have 'half multipliers'

and in my point of view half multiplier degrades performance since it will use a lower memory speed value

let say a 9.5x multi .... the memory controller will use memory divider table of a 9x
*
ya.. that's weird.. how about the mobo not support 'half multipliers'? can solve with bios update i guess..

but through calculation... can hit 3ghz without much stress on ram if using 400 divider...

320fsb x 9.5cpu mul = 3040

3040/9 = 337... 675DDR...

if 533 ram divider.. much more good for OCable ram..
3040/7 = 434..

this should be great for merely RM300 X2 cpu... prepare ur money guys.. icon_rolleyes.gif

hmmm..that one i know larr..but how 're to find out on barely proc..
is there any numbers on the surface or is't all windsor are 65w...
sorry noobie me blush.gif
i guess no problem kot..
coz before this i've been doing my oc on this board using 4 pin power supply..
before i realize there're 8 pin power supply on another wire.. laugh.gif  doh.gif

BTW..read on manual, it's said that another 4 pin is for ur GC..if not mistaken larr.. biggrin.gif
*
normally from ordering number..

89w = ADA3800...
65w = ADO3800...
35w = ADD3800...

obviously it's 89W.. like mine.. if 65W need that high V.. it's totally bad chip..

Biostar TA690G builtin gpu not very good i think.. coz it's cut pixel shader into 4 and remove vertex pipelines.. so will stress a cpu..

is there any AM2+ mobo around?

damn its a nice mobo..can support up to 2.95vdimm..

so soulfly, go grab one and share some review here.. brows.gif

if not limit the gpu.. and got firewire.. those mobo will be great for basic audio visual platform...
and again got hdmi and dvi connector.. great for the price..
