First time HLB WISE Report in.

Anyone can confirm if AEON at Pg Queensbury Mall is under groceries? As per attached, AEON SMKT is groceries right? If not I'm gonna knock my head against the wall. Done 6 trans amounting RM 674. Still got 4 trans and rm324 to go.
*
You may wanna check HLConnect. If the transaction is listed as AEON SMKT, most probably grocery. If listed as AEON , 100% under departmental.

1x at myMydin BBBangi...hopefully this my Mydin is under Grocery..

5 more swipes to go  smile.gif

If they are selling grocery, most probably it is. Even meat store and chinese medical shop can be listed as grocery. Why not mydin ?

Sure, report back later.
The slip stated AEON SMKT, so hopefully it not misleading. I cant log into HL Connect yet as i havent receive their PIN.

One thing very weird, the cc slip stated the card type is MBB VISA, where it supposed to be HLB VISA I thought?
*
Maybank machine will always display MBB VISA, for all visa card transaction.

Yes, I can confirm that as I experienced before.. CB calculation is based on posting date.
Your first 2 transactions will go into April CB (but 1st one not entitled as dinning is not your chosen category).

But I can't confirm if the first 2 transactions count into April 10x transaction to trigger CB for April.
Most of my monthly swipes are more than 10, so can't confirm, but I believe it should work hand-in-hand as the CB transaction method, i.e. based on posting date. Otherwise will be complicated.

As the FAQ below does pointing to Posting Date.
*
For peace of mind, better make >10 transactions in a calender month. Nobody wanna be a victim of technical terms!

At least the Annual Fee can be waived (if you ask nicely)

I got a feeling that user like me who never spent outside category, will not get AF Waiver.

Dinning category in Wise card is a "trap" category. Reasons being:
1. Difficult to control the dinning bill within average RM100 per transaction.
2. Can easily spend few hundred ringgit in one transaction, thus you need to spend more than 1k in order to hit 10x transactions.
3. You wouldn't know for sure the restaurant qualify for CB or not.

Better drop the dining category and save the dining chargers for other CB card like OCBC or Amex. These 2 cards can get good upfront dining bill discount from 10% to 20% at quite a large selection of restaurants
*
To be truthful, there ain't any card around that offers 10% CB on dining. OCBC Titanium used to offer CB on dining but they cover the complete set of MCC for dining which is MCC 5811, MCC 5812, MCC 5813 & MCC 5814. This isn't the case for wise card where MCC 5813 is omitted!! So CB is not earned on MCC 5813 merchant. Based on my experience, MCC 5813 doesn't only include bar/ disco/ drinking places but also at non halal restaurant and restaurant that serves alcohol. That is why i always try to ask the restaurant their MCC status before paying ( but most of the time the cashier is dumbfolded by my questions !! brows.gif )

Yes, that's right. Tesco sells prepaid. Caring Pharmacy is inside Tesco.
So, if you select grocery category, indirectly you got two sub bonus categories for Pharmacy and Mobile prepaid.
The main Mobile category only cover Maxis, Celcom, Digi, U Mobile and YES. Tesco can help to cover other telcos.

Yes, you can buy Aeon Big, Tesco, Giant voucher or gift card and get 10% CB.
For Jusco, I'm not sure because sometimes it can be under grocery and sometimes under departmental and sometimes neither both.  You need to ask ronnie.
*
For Jusco it is down to the individual store really. Mostly it is determined by the location where CS is located. If CS is in supermarket, most probably it will be 'grocery'. If CS is located at other location, then 100% under 'departmental'. I'm only sure voucher bought at Permas Jaya , Johor is under grocery. Nontheless, i'm sure that most other store will be listed as departmental.

Ah OK, I think I misunderstood your original post.
I thought we can select different categories for the principal and supplementary cardholders.
Sorry...haha.
Wishful thinking.
*
If qualified, it is better to apply for this card as a principal cardholder. More value and benefit as compared to the supp cardholder.

Yes, I'm the principal cardholder.
Was thinking whether or not to get a supp card for the missus, but after doing my math, I determined that there was no further benefit of doing so.
*
If you frequently max out the CB, then no point getting a supp. In fact this wise card is one of the worst, as far as supp cardholder is concerned, IMO.

If the card is expiring in June, now is the time to negotiate with retention. Once AF & GST kicks in... Have to pay then doh.gif

I don't mind paying GST but HLB insisted No AF waiver for me. I never need to pay the AF in my entire CC history of >10yrs.
This HLB is very special.
*
Should be a no waiver for me as well, i will pay the AF. Earning CB of about 1k /year is still a good deal after all. Although this is the only card i have to pay to use it .

There are members here gets the waiver (must be after charged to the account) by calling the CS. I never kena AF since Feb till now. Very uncertain waiver policy, Maybe you should call diff CS till u get the waiver.
*
Judging from the situation, someone will get AF waiver, some will not. No clear answer as to how to get waiver . HLB is indeed special biggrin.gif

Get used to it and you will be ok with it.
Like the "transaction posting date" also they can adjust as they like.
*
There ain't any adjustment to posting date. Only late posting exist. Bank would want to charge everything in the first place, if it is possible.

They won't adjust the posting date, but will adjust the CB on such "missed" transactions.
*
Did you ever made a manual transaction when the EDC terminal could not be used and the cashier have to call the aquiring bank to get the approval code and swipe your card using the old style imprinter and you sign your purchases on the old fashion slip. That would take at least a month to post !

Never.
But then I already get used to what HLB dirty tricks. Just want to show it takes 9 days to get it posted. Have to ask that petrol station on this matter(know them very well) hmm.gif
*
If it takes 9 days to get posted, the fault lies on the merchant. Most probably they lost your signature slip and found it a week later, resulting a pending period of 9 days.

Sorry to hear about your bad experiences.
For me, fortunately for all my transactions, the period between transaction and posting dates are usually 2 - 3 days only.
Touch wood.
*
To be honest, i'd be very glad to have transaction posted in 9 days than in 2-3 days.. A transaction posted in 9 days have a potential interest free period of 59 days !
