Hi Prince J, For the RK-15, 1. is the display an IPS or TN? 2. for the stock SSHD, how much of it is Solid state? 3. How is the keyboard like? 4. What is the difference between the Gigabyte warranty & the stock Illegear warranty?

Hi Dbassnut,
1. It's TN. 2. 8GB NAND Flash drive for 500GB SSHD. 3. The keyboard is matte black chiclet style. 4. ILLEGEAR machine is served by ILLEGEAR Staff for warranty.
Nvidia (Maxwell) GTX 860M 4GB GDDR5 vs 2GB GDDR5, does it matter? "Monolith recommends a 6GB GPU for the highest possible quality level - and we found that at both 1080p and 2560x1440 resolutions, the game's art ate up between 5.4 to 5.6GB of onboard GDDR5. Meanwhile, the high setting utilises 2.8GB to 3GB, while medium is designed for the majority of gaming GPUs out there, occupying around 1.8GB of video RAM."
plan to ask prince j since illegear is can do customization laptop is it possible using z5 barebone and put gtx 970m ? XD it is more interest if it had gtx 970m on it

ILLEGEAR Z5 is currently out of stock. We are trying our best to restock from factory and ETA is around 17th this month. You can still see the Z5 demo and preorder in our Empire Damansara office.
Prince J, does it have any illegear warehouse in kluang johor area? i heard someone say it has? if got, can you tell me location and how to contact them.
Hi, I was looking for a future proof laptop for some time now, as some of you might have reply to me back in the recommendation thread. I was tempted with this but the one thing that gripes me is the justification of the price/specification/performance ratio.
I know that "you pay for what you get" principle, but I just can't seem to find a reason to justify it. For example the Z3 starting price is RM 3799 with 8GB RAM, 500 GB RAM, without RAID, OS and comes with 2 year warranty. But top it up with OS, RAID-1 with 2*128 GB mSATA SSD, 1 TB SSHD, AC WiFi adapter and the price is a whopping RM 5500.
Considering my Toshiba laptop was bought at a price of nearly RM 3000, which the specs may not be as high as the Z3, is there, I mean, seriously, there a justification to the pricing/specification/performance ratio to the point that such a trade off is worth it??

Hey richard1226,
The Z5 starting price is RM3799 and the default configuration is good enough for common gamers. If you wanted to addon 2x 128gb msata ssd, AC premium WLAN card and 1TB SSHD the price will definitely go up a lot.
Considering the Z5 has Maxwell GTX 860M 4GB GDDR5, big subwoofer and 8 cell battery, it's not expensive at all.

Quoted ILLEGEAR FB "Do you know that ILLEGEAR Z5 uses a 150W adapter for its Nvidia GTX 860M 4GB GDDR5 rather than common 120W adapter for laptops with Nvidia GTX 860M 2GB GDDR5?"
