check the links below
http://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/1950-wi...an-install.html

for driver, u can request it from illegear.

thanks. Got it installed before reading your guide. i simply deleted the partitions and it worked.

as for drivers, im using what came with win10. Illegear is not really helpful, just replied no win10 drivers from clevo. No alternative suggestion offered. LOL
im better off googling for help.

Hi slash,

Clevo didn't release Windows 10 drivers for the RE-15, that was why we suggested you to stick to windows 8.1 if you can.

Drivers like Nvidia, intel drivers you might be able to look for them online, but there is no windows 10 hotkey driver for the old RE-15 released by Clevo.

Hi Illegear,

My Illegear RU14pro recently have issues powering on. When I on the laptop, it keeps shutting down even before hitting the BIOS Logo (Illegear logo) screen. Item is past warranty, so I need to know what can be done to salvage this laptop?

Thanks

Hi,

Try to remove your ram piece by piece, to see if the computer can boot up.

Hi, wanna ask. I'm using a RS-15.

For SSD (mSATA), I'm using Crucial M550 256GB

Is it "normal" to run at 70c-90c average?

Highest temperature recorded is 93c

Tried doing that but still no results. I've also replaced with working RAM but it still keep shutting down before reaching ILLEGEAR BIOS logo, so it's definitely not booting.

Its a "characteristic" of Crucial SSDs. Or a flaw depending on how you see it.

I have 2 MX200 mSATA, which is the refresh of the M550, in a Clevo P377SM-A or RX-17. The one near to the GPU/CPU idles at 50+. The one below the keyboard idles at 40-45c.

Running any kind of benchmark on either drive can send their temps shooting to 80-90c, well above the supposed thermal throttle limit. I had the first pair exchanged thinking they were defective but the replacement also had the same temps. So far my pair has not failed so i still live with it.

Even the MX200 in 9.5" form factor in a more ventilated ext hdd enclosure idle at 40c as compared to the 34c from the Samsung 850 Pro working inside the laptop itself

Crucial SSDs are the only ones with MLC-NAND that cost less than almost all the other brands so I guess you get what you pay for biggrin.gif

Aha no wonder.

Well since its in mSATA format, I was thinking of adding another mSATA for gaming (skyrim mods, actually, ROFLMAO)
But the temperature was kind of concerning. Then again its designed to run in certain threshold, doesn't it?

I've been using the mSATA for about 1 year now, and i've lost 6% health (according to the crucial SSD software). So I thought the heat may have contributed to it.

The limit is supposed to be 80c then its supposed to throttle activity to prevent damage so it came as a shock to me the first time it went up to the 90s.

In my case, it was benchmarking that resulted in the temps so I use it only as storage so as not to deliberately put it under constant high stress. I run my games and software out of the Samsung 850s.

Latest BIOS for SKYLAKE Z5 960M and 970M, this BIOS fix Shift+7 with Numlock issue.

http://www.illegear.com/downloads/z5skylakebiosupdate.zip

Steps (DOS method):

1. Prepare a USB pendrive and make a bootable USB pendrive with Rufus, download Rufus from https://rufus.akeo.ie/
2. Open Rufus, file system choose "FAT32", create a bootable disc using "MS-DOS", format the pendrive.
3. Extract and transfer the downloaded BIOS files to the bootable USB pendrive.
4. Make sure the AC adapter is connected. Press F2 to enter into BIOS control panel upon boot up, set the pendrive as the highest boot priority, save and restart.
5. Flash BIOS, type "dos.bat", computer will restart by itself, after restart the computer will start flashing BIOS *warning do not remove the USB pendrive and power source during flashing*.
6. Enter F2 BIOS again, click "load default settings", done.

Hi
I am using the u4, just want to ask about the Wifi adapter AC/N issue, my device manager says its an AC adapter, but in the properties there's no AC stated. So may I know whether my adapter is AC or N?

The reason I'm asking because i just got an AC router but it seems like there is no speed improvement. Task manager still says its N. Thanks.

Hi Pronumeral,

U4 only uses AC 8260 and 7265-AC *(EDITED) adapter. Your wireless adapter must be an AC adapter. Try setting your router to dual band and connect to the 5GHz AC network.

The 7265 card used on U4 is also AC, only Z5 uses 7265-N at the moment.
