Trying to promote safety among car guys. The gloves work very well with sweaty palm or people who go-kart a lot. FIA fire retardant certified and you can try it out first before deciding.

Some people don't like the glove feeling and compare it to a condom but that's all personal smile.gif

I'm planning to DIY re-gap the valve rocker arms because my valvetrain is too noisy. But looking forward, do you guys know where I can get the items for cheap:-

Valve Cover Gasket x1
Spark Plug Seal x4

Getting Original from Proton or Renault will set me back RM240 which is too much for a few pieces of rubber.

According to your description. its most likely wheel bearing. If your hands are free enough, and if you're a grease monkey like me, jack the car up and free spin the wheel with 1 hand, use another hand holding on the suspension spring to feel if there's any grinding/scratching feeling feedback from the spring. If it is, then it's most likely the bearing. If there isn't, probably tyre noise.

user posted image

If it's a bearing issue, make sure you stay with the mechs & watch them do it. Bring along a can of degreaser spray, ask the mechanic to degrease the entire bearing housing(brake hub) and spindle(the shaft that host the bearing) make sure the mechs clean it properly before putting in the new bearing! If the mech f*** u, pls f*** him back, say u know Shawie like the back of your hand. These said area if not clean properly before the replacement, it's good as commit suicide. All pre-facelift Shawies has a very weak rear spindle. Old grease that contaminated with metal dust will further damage ur new bearing & the spindle. For a moment, I don't even believe it will happen to me as I heard many advice from otai, until it's too late.

user posted image

If you sayang the car more than yourself(like I do), then go buy SKF bearing grease from HARDWARE shop. Get your magician to use that grease for your new bearings. Otherwise, ordinary magician will put those cheap grease for you.

Would you mind i ask a silly question?
How to cabut rear tail lamp? Is just unscrew the bolts? Got any hidden bolts or clips under rear bumper or not?
Appreciate if got pictures or "How to cabut Savvy rear lamps for Dummies" .
Thanks ya.

That car dumped there just 3 days, almost cabut sampai kosong.
Interior gone, bonnet gone, tayar gone, absobar gone, front lamp gone, tangki gone, aircond compressor gone.
What there Left are rear lamp x2 and that bloody d4f engine.
Anyone want engine? Hahax

Remove all the bolts with screwdriver or 10mm socket.
Then just yank hard to pull it hard. It has locating pins that need to be pulled out hard

You don't need the entire engine. Take the throttle body, aircond compressor, alternator, starter, power steering pump(this 1 is for me). At the same time, can salvage radiator hose keep for future use.

Keep the right lamp for me if you're gonna use the left 1 whistling.gif

David, if u can take out my power steering pump out of my car without rounding the bolts, u can have it. It is still working with no leaks.

got touch up... cheaper apm spring and local kyb (not japan kyb) absorbers.
thinner rear ARB, and that's it.

the aim is more comfort, however as an overall package, it > the real lancer and has been reviewed as such by various magazines and what not.

supposedly, if the rear arb is thinner, it would be having less oversteer characteristics... and that itself is a +point for majority of drivers, regardless how they may think/believe (remember that suspension thread you linked? tongue.gif)
that alone could have played a huge factor in the outcome of that infamous lancer/inspira tragic accident. (resulting in an orphan some more)

performance aside, the suspension is dirt cheap for sure... refer my thread, no one wants LOL

Quazacolt, do u know of a 1.8 inspira covert engine to a 2.4 lancer. That seems like a perfect daily car

Replied in Blue

1) Power steering switch changed twice despite adhering to advices learnt from SAVOC to only park with the steering wheel at center / when the engine is on.
Consider wear & tear. I will buy 1 and keep spare for future replacement as needed. Usually 1 piece can last 2 years. Got mine from h0pefree for RM70

Solution: Remove power steering

8) Speedometer sensor. The need to change this part was diagnosed with PDT scanner and hence changed as advised.
Got mine from h0pefree, for RM70 also. DIY changed. The recent time, when I change accidentally poked too hard and snap the counter gear. So, have sent my gearbox for repair. If there's anyone to blame, I blame myself for being clumsy. This part never need a PDT scanner.

Question: The counter gear is made of what material? Why so easy snap a magnetic sensor gear? And shouldn't it be non-touching

14) Only using RON97 all along even when the price per liter soar as high as RM2.46 per liter once.
EURO RON91 compatible engine. If there's still RON92, I will use it.

I don't know to laugh or cry at the people pumping RON97 now. Myvi min. RON90, Savvy min. RON91
