QUOTE(carpathia @ Apr 17 2014, 09:34 AM) How come so may of you having so many problems with the new firmware ? did you root your phone ? i had NO problems whatsoever and mine is an AP unit. Same here. For me, this latest firmware update fixed pretty much everything for my phone. But only after doing a factory reset, that's all.

QUOTE(jloi @ Apr 17 2014, 12:00 PM) i think is not compatible. I remember install old google camera in my HTC One and it works perfectly for photosphere. But doesnt work on Xperia Z during that time. Have you tried the Lens Blur feature as well? It's not really working too well for me, especially the part where it tells you to move your phone upwards or whatever. It will always tell you that, you are either moving too fast or it just can't blur out anything. Even when it does work, it blurs out pretty much everything. LOL! QUOTE(jloi @ Apr 17 2014, 12:53 PM) i realize that. Don't shoot close up to the object or else i'll just tell u movint too fast. So far that working fine for me as long as not shooting the object close up. Then again, hate it we cannot use the physical shutter button on this camera Thanks for the guide. But it seems like the focused area is not that big though.

QUOTE(jloi @ Apr 17 2014, 02:25 PM) yea lor.. will test more when i am outdoor. Room have kinda limited light we just discussed about it 1 page before lol To be honest, I'm not a very patient guy. I have uninstalled the app from my phone. LOL! I can hardly get a clear shot using the Lens Blur mode. In my phone, it will actually only blur out random parts of the photo. Sometimes, it will also blur out the part I selected to be focused on. I will just download it once again and give it a try when there's a more stable, upgraded and better version of it. Maybe I'm just not that good at taking photos with my phone, I don't know.

QUOTE(jloi @ Apr 17 2014, 03:32 PM) haha no worries. I know the feeling. Sony Background Defocus still easiest to use (havent try LG and HTC 1) Yeap, I agree. Background Defocus app is still the best at this points.

QUOTE(derravile @ Apr 17 2014, 11:20 PM) battery drain is fast, mild usage, less than a day usage 10% left only very little web browsing, abt of CoC, WA & messages tho i on bluetooth and nfc full time You see, it used to be rumours/battery myths everywhere. People like to say stuff like don't switch your WiFi and Bluetooth on all the time. Because it will shorten your battery life, and the quality of the battery itself will degrade faster than usual. In the end, you will get swollen battery like those old phones. Are all of these true? Will it happen to SONY Xperia Z1? This post has been edited by JkzsBlog: Apr 18 2014, 12:00 AM

QUOTE(derravile @ Apr 18 2014, 12:49 AM) yes but don't expect it for a phone less than a year~ its only 6 months... Only 6 months of battery life, if I switch both Bluetooth and WiFi on all the time?

QUOTE(jloi @ Apr 18 2014, 09:24 AM) I take back my word. The physical shutter button actually works on Google Camera I tried second time for photosphere and it back to normal. But after taken last photo, it become haywire again. I notice is not the gyrometer not working but it lag and slow causes delayed So, you mean you can actually get it to work but for only that one time? I will try again, but maybe next time. LOL! QUOTE(derravile @ Apr 18 2014, 09:14 AM) what u meant is if i switch on bluetooth, wifi, nfc all the time, it is normal for my battery to de-generates in bout 6 months? if thts the case, its unexceptable. i am not comparing anything and i don't expect it to be better. even my old phone (dont wanna mention but its a smartphone) 5 years old has better battery lifespan till now So it's is actually fine for the phone if the WiFi and Bluetooth are both switched on for almost all the time? It won't damage the battery? You will only get run out of juice faster?

QUOTE(derravile @ Apr 18 2014, 10:41 AM) dun tink u get what i meant, i did not say it would not dmg the battery faster, its just tht the battery lifespan suppose to last longer with all those things turn on after so many years i dunno y r u insisting on this, i am just trying to voice out my personal usage, if u dun have tht problem, good for u, sry no offence tho, i will stop ere. It's not that I am trying to insist. I'm trying to verify all these so called myths/rumours. I just want to know if switching WiFi and Bluetooth on is good for the battery. I was like... PHEW, I'm one of those lucky ones who did not encounter any problem after the update and factory reset. But then, I was wrong. My phone just restarted itself a few minutes ago. I was searching for something on Google through Google Chrome. It suddenly just hangs for 1 or 2 seconds and BOOM. It restarted. For the first time though.

QUOTE(ckchan @ Apr 23 2014, 10:12 PM) Download amazing spiderman 2 game for free via Xperia lounge [attachmentid=3943324] File size is huge, the .APK file itself may seem small. After installing it, I am required to download another huge 680+MB update. I don't know if that's actually normal because I don't usually play heavy games with my phone. I only play games like Flappy Bird or Threes! for example. But playing this new Spiderman 2 game makes my phone go freaking hot. Hot on both the back and the front/screen.

QUOTE(TechnoG @ Apr 26 2014, 08:36 PM) hey, just wondering is there any major issues with the Z1? Im planning to buy an AP set Z1 around this week. or should I wait a few more weeks later for Z2 to be officially released and hopefully get a better deal for an ori Z1? but then if buy next month have GST and stuff already haih. Get SONY Xperia Z2 please. Go back a few more pages in this thread from here, and you will see all kinds of complaints from people. For me, I don't face any major problem. Only for once, after the latest update. My phone restarted itself the other day, suddenly. I am just waiting for another firmware update to fix everything, right now. Or maybe go get yourself OnePlus One, the new and cheap flagship smartphone killer. Check it out, here.

QUOTE(marlick25 @ Apr 26 2014, 11:27 PM) wow u had the same scenario as me. I didnt encounter any major problem after update to the latest kitkat, but then yesterday while i was googling something, suddenly the phone restarted itself. I hope it wont happen again lol Well, that's unfortunate. We will just have to wait for the next update or something to get everything fixed then.
