I don't get it, what did you guys mean? You mean you can't unlock your phone into camera mode by holding down the shutter button?

I have no choice but to do a factory reset, I've done it earlier just now, now everything is STILL working fine. Also, once again, my apps data are all lost. I wanted to do a backup of all that using Helium app, but I just couldn't get it to work. Jeez, I was so fed up. I have to do everything again, like customizing my home screens and all. I have one last question here. Like what I'm facing, my micro USB charging port cover is not doing its job well these days. It is covered in the warranty? By the way, these are the 2 shots I took yesterday at the SONY shop in Mid Valley using the new SONY XPERIA Z1 COMPACT. I was rushing to leave, so I couldn't took my phone out and take the same shot to give everyone a comparison.

Okay, thanks for the advice. I will head to whichever SONY center nearest soon. But after I did my factory reset, some of the apps can still recover those old data in my phone, while some others can't. Weird.

I am downloading the update right now, through PC Companion software.

Edit: Apparently, the update is actually for the PC Companion software itself, not the phone. LOL!

I am actually still having the volume issue, damn. It is either I reset my volume in settings or restart the phone. This is frustrating.

Nope, I did nothing. Using my phone as usual, I don't have any 3rd party music/sound app running or anything. I haven't get to check it properly if the soft volume is actually coming out from the earpiece or the bottom speaker. Also, sorry for the late reply though, been busy for these few days.

Just to be clear, I'm not the only one calling that part of the phone as earpiece. You may hear some of the reviewers on YouTube saying the same thing. Also, according to Google...


Anyway, for almost every notification. Be it calls, messages I've received or apps like Whatsapp and all. It will all sometimes be softer. Fortunately, this will only happen once in a while, not very often. But it is still a pain in the ass though. I will try pay more attention on my phone from now on to clearly determine if the soft volume is coming out from the bottom speaker or the earpiece.

OH, LOL! That some next level stuff. Mind explaining everything in a simpler way? LOL.

I don't mind doing all these if I don't need to do backups all over again, void my warranty like rooting and all.

I haven't receive any updates of the latest firmware, but I do get the Movies app update though.

I've finally received the update. I'm busy right now, I will only update my phone later tonight.

My update here is done. I do get a 500+MB of RAM left after this latest update instead of the previous one which gave me a 400+MB of RAM left. Next, about the notification sound/volume playback issue. After my update was done, I did get a notification from WeChat. The sound came out of the bottom speaker and it was loud. No stuttering or lagging when I am trying to launch my camera app, it was smooth as usual.

I don't if this only happens to me or everyone. Touching the battery side of the notification bar sometimes just doesn't work.

I've been experiencing that even from before this new firmware update.

I also get the same issue, but only while I'm using the Background Defocus app.

I've actually done a factory reset earlier on though, it cleared up a lot of unwanted stuff from my phone. But that's not the point. After this new firmware update, it fixed some of the bugs I was facing. The only issue I have right now is, the slight delay of launching the camera app. It doesn't matter if I'm launching it from the lock screen or home screen. The slight delay will just be there somehow. That's the only issue left bugging me, and this is also only the earlier stage of observation after the latest update & factory reset. I'll see if there are any problems that will arise later on.

Just asking, any idea how the water got in?

Try playing it with the Photo Sphere mode. I was testing it with my phone, and then something happen whenever there are only 3 or 4 shots left to take. I've been trying it for hours. Whenever it reaches the point where you only have to take 3 or 4 more shots left, it just sort of lag and not responding very well. It's like the gyroscope went wrong or something. In the end, you will get a few black patches here and there in your photo. I don't if it's just me or what.
