Its also a perfect example of changing managers doesn't guarantee instant success. How many years have Liverpool spent in the wilderness and how many managers have they changed and how much money has been wasted?
I wouldn't so fast as to pass judgement on Rogers and Liverpool.
We have yet to see Rogers in charge of a full fledged season with fixture congestion and what not. We all know how spectacularly he failed in his first season last year when he had to juggle Europa Cup games together with the BPL games.
Its not that I am against changing managers. Whichever route the club chooses to take I will fully support but just to remind that as much chance there is of a positive change there also lies an equal chance of the potential pit falls that could await.
Of course instant success will not be achievable based on the current financial situation. More games = need more squad depth. At the moment, we're still relying on some old farts, indicating our young players are really not up to par.
Last time those performing 30s players are backup player where contract extension is given on yearly basis but it seems the policy has changed. I believe this will harm the nurturing young players process even tho our players are really

.
On the other hand, not playing in CL might be losing quite a substantial amount of prize money but being KO annually at top16 is actually morally damaging. Why not just try to build a team that can last the season competitively instead of habis steam at the of final sprint?
Just like the textbook theory, people are afraid to change but in the business world, failing to adapt to changes will only lead to failure.
