Constant acceleration meant you keep increase the speed == rate of increment of speed remain constant.

I'll be lucky i can do 60km/h constantly in KL...100km/h last maybe 5 seconds before hitting another jam.

Wanna test speed my car after 1600km also no chance...

When it was RM1.62/L I managed to get 16.2km/L. And that is pure city driving with moderate traffic.

can say my driving is very conservative
i have a vacuum gauge so can monitor how hard im pressing the accelerator n so on (i try not to go less than 5mmHg)
lastime managed to get 12+km/L from my 33year old renault 1.3 (and this is using a standard butterfly valve carb while the iswara uses a linear valve)
thats y i was quite peeved when my 'new' proton got about the same milage
as for driving conditions, the time i got 12.8 was when i was doing practically all highway
when got mix of town n highway i get like on the low 12s
my tuning n tappets are all tip top (i can vouch for it as i do it all myself)
thats y wondering what he did with his car tongue.gif

Car : Kancil GX 850 (M) 1996
Petrol : Caltex Techron Silver (RON 92)
Engine Oil : Castrol Mtec
FC : 0.15cents/km or 12.5km/L

Road type : 60% City 40% Highway

Quite high for a Kancil, but i think its expected because of its age.

Anyone here has any personal experience of improved FC after removing the catalytic convertor? Please share as im suspecting my bad FC is contributed by a clogged cat con. Thanks ^^
*
Kancil FC depends a lot on the air filter. For optimum performance and FC, tune it on ron97 and change air filter every 5000km. The kancil FC is cheap enough to run ron97 smile.gif

i think the mythbusters did a take on these magnet things
the result was 'no effect' and therefore 'busted' (imagine them throwing that rusty welded metal plate with the words 'busted' onto a dusty floor tongue.gif )

dunnoe how to count ah,

this is mine  proton saga ( 1992)

from seremban to melaka, then from melaka to seremban only rm 15 fuel.

mlk to sBan is around 88++KM

so 88X2=176km for rm15 on highway. constant 100-110

Added on April 19, 2007, 3:16 amcheap rite haha

bro
i suggest u do wut other ppl r suggesting
fill full tank....drive from seremban to melaka and back again...n if can once again
then fill full tank again n c how much petrol u used (i.e. how much u filled the second time around)
then divide the total km traveled by the amount u filled the second time
then u can get an accurate fc
and if you still get 22.53km/L, i'm sure every single person on this forum will want to come and c ur car and copy your engine's config (including me! tongue.gif )
coz that kinda milage cant even be achieved by the new 'green' cars
only the new diesel cars can hit that kinda milage rclxub.gif

my around rm0.20 per km sweat.gif it's only a saga
btw if putting RON 92 petrol will do harm to the car? i just pump that into it cos the petrol station run out of RON 97 and the boss told me nvm 1 since it's old piece of junk i just chinchai pump lo
*
erm...from what i heard u shouldnt use a 92 on a 97 engine
diff octane means diff combustion characteristics
u might get pinging or premature combustions which will damage your crankshaft bearings and piston rings and generally wear out/ damage/screw up your engine faster than its suppose to sweat.gif

but kelisa always around 3k rpm when driving at 90kmph
*
depends on the engine design
more powerful engines can run at lower rpms n still be able to pull
but smaller engines generally have their max torque at a higher rpms
an extreme example are super bikes
iinm, their rpm can go up to 15k+rpm or more
their cc is small...so to get the required power output, they increase the rpm
its the same concept that is being used in f1
the federation limited their cc
so to get more power, they r pushing for higher rpms

[offtopic]
wish they would make groundforce, cvt n turbo legal once again
then we'd see some really phenomenal speeds
iinm, even until today no1 can beat the cornering speeds from the groundforce era laugh.gif

Wira 2003
Milage done : 101000km
FC : 13.5km/l
modification done : bypass exhaust filter, using Bosch Super 4, 9.5mm plug cable.
Average speed : 120km/h on trunk roads
Driving style : 1st-4th gear rpm max <3000rpm, 5th gear >3000rpm
Fuel always maintain at full, lowest is 50%.
Tyres pressure : 230-235kpa
ECU adjusted to get engine output effiency at 90%, before is 70% by EON service center during free service
Idling timing at 700-900, want to try 600 but engine vibrates
before modifications done, FC : 11.5km/l
*
erm...just curious...when u say engine output 90% efficiency, what exactly do you mean?
coz iinm, an IC engine is basically a heat engine...which is quite inefficient since most energy is lost through heat...then once we factor in the mechanical losses through the transmission, we are usually looking at about 20% overall efficiency or less blink.gif
only full electric cars like the tesla can get 90+% efficiency as the electric motor is very efficient
but if we talk about well to wheel efficiency, its definitely not 90%...
and lets not even talk about an IC engine's well to wheel efficiency....its just so depressing blink.gif
