Dear all lowyat user, recently i have just bought a chervolet optra 1.6 (2005 model) from a shop in penang island. After i bought the car i notice that the car petrol consumption is crazily high. RM80 only allows me to go for 220km++ (I maintained the RPM below 2000 all the time). It cost me RM0.35/little of RON 95 petrol. This is really crazy, i have change the plug, battery, black oil (fully syntetic, RM260) and also auto oil RM260 (pakelo 1) but this problem still cannot be fixed. The forman told me that there is no leaking of petrol at all. In total i have spent more then RM1500++ to repair this car... May i know is there any expert here that can help me? or is it maybe i have to tune the engine or what?? haizzz.... i am really sad for buying this car... help me pls, if u got any suggestion pls reply my post or sms me at 017-5878829.. your help will be much appreciated!!!!!

My honda city 2008, iDSi, RM65 petrol RON95, only gave me 360~380km with 11-12km/L. Purely city driving.

I think there is a problem.

Using shell 10-40w semi syn.
Using shell Ron95.
Air Con blast only 1 or 2 with 50% cold temp.
tyre press: front 32psi. Rear 30psi

5.8L/100km = 39.266km/L = 4.8sen/km

Bro feista is consider right drove a hybrid car.

5.8L = 1.9 Ron 95 = Rm11.02 = 100 km
That mean 1km = 0.11 sen.

If full tank = Rm79.80 can achieve 725km per full tank

Can never achieve that mileage from that full tank i guess... All those figures are only what shown by the trip computer, not the actual fuel consumption... Even Honda Civic Hybrid will show 24km/, but the actual is lesser... Trip computer always shows beautiful figure...

220km for a 50litre tank is a serious problem even for the most fuel guzzling sports car,not only does the consumption is a problem,u go anywhere a bit far also problem,have to stop at least 3 times going down KL from his location.

I dunno, even during my heavy footed day, i will get 250km for rm50 amount of fuel, 1.3cc vs 1.8cc
Maybe, only that im amazed with that fact, guess my car is not really a fuel guzzler afterall

previously my fc very terrible one rm50 for 180km   after using nitrogen for my tire, getting better, otherwise mati la......

  now you amaze by my car terrible fc,  2years only, but everytime getting near to service time fc will be slightly improve   i hv no answer for that

Because when youre refuelling during the day/hot day, the particle expands so theoretically you get less petrol.

Well for me, it is logical la. Whenever i have to refuel during the day, i only put in 15-20. The rest i will go during the night.

Anyways my Kenari 1.0 rm50 can get me 260km.
Around 11km/l city drive

Full tank can last around 310-320km Rm70.

At least for me

I heard the FC is very good but the car price can buy a mini cooper s / bmw / A250 etc...
