QUOTE(pokgaizai @ Mar 5 2014, 12:17 PM) Look like the PIE still very early stage, keep crashing the GNL, will freeze if the pie control is out and auto rotated, needed reboot. And no setting at all for pie. Hope to see a refined version Wait few more betas then it will be stable enough.

finish reading the site provided by NightFelix so kinda understand most of it now. so basically before i root my phone, i have to unlock the bootloader to install the recovery which can be use to backup and everything. after that i have to select a rom and flash it, some rom come pre rooted and some dont. if i choose those tht come pre rooted, my phone will b root after flashing the room. is my summary right?

Yes, most of the CustomROM for Nexus, probably Root ready. So not much you need to worry about.

ROMs are optional. You can stick to stock and root. Custom ROM provide more features than stock. But if you want to stick to stock but want features, you can install xposed (study this too) Custom kernels may provide better battery+performance than stock kernel. Now go study more: EFS backup (This is important), nandroid backup, [how-to] adb
