That parking lot seems small..lol
If I reach Monash tomorrow around 9.30AM there are still some free parking lot there right???
The outdoor parking is RM2 per day though...seems a little bigger....

better go earlier if you want to fight for the free parking.

Hi all...
Orientation starts on this Monday so I'm wondering if any new students are excited about it...
Well I'm a new student too and wondering if any senior here can help me out with a simple question...
Which carpark is the best for Monash students???
I know there are 2 carparks which is located just beside the University...
I heard there is a new Sunway carpark which is quite large and drivers who park their car there can walk to Monash through the bridge right??(Correct me if I'm wrong)
So how bout the rate of these carparks??? Which carpark is the most crowded and which one is your common carpark???
Thanks all for the reply.... smile.gif

Hi, jackycrazy.
I'm currently a student at Monash (in my 4th year now), and this is what I can tell you.
The eastern parking (the free one) is good in the sense that it's free, however the conditions of the roads in that parking is not in top condition. The western parking (RM2 parking) will cost you money, but it may be worth paying the RM2, as the security there looks to be slightly better than the one at eastern parking, plus the road condition is much better, so no need to worry about your car tyre puncturing or whatnot.
I never tried the new sunway carpark, but yes, you'll be able to take the canopy walk to Monash. However, you'll have to walk much more than compared to the western and eastern parking. For 8am classes, this obviously isn't the best choice.
Of course, the eastern parking will be the most crowded, as it's free. For me, during the semester, I use both. If I have an 8am class, I'll be able to park at the eastern parking. However, if my class starts a bit later (eg. 9 or 10am), then I have no choice but to use the western parking.

For tomorrow, if you come at 9.30am, I would guess that the free parking would be full already, as the number of new students and parents would easily fill the free parking. So probably you'll have to pay RM2.

I'll be at the orientation tomorrow helping out, as one of the members of the student council. Hope you have fun this week in orientation! smile.gif

Hey.
Anyone attended the briefings for School of Business & School of Arts and Social Sciences on the 22nd and 23rd? I unfortunately couldn't make it for either and tomorrow I was told to see the course managers. But it would still be great if you could share what was covered.

Also, for management (BBusCom) and communication (BComn), for anyone who knows, please tell me which lecturer's classes are enjoyable.

A simple summary by post or pm will be so great of you, thank you!

Btw, parking at Sunway College is RM1 for every hour. Or was it because I was there as a visitor... Meh. Gotta go early I guess tongue.gif

Hi all...
Went to the orientation this week and so far so good...
All the seniors are giving me tons of advices to adjust to the campus life....
The Rush Hour was fun too...(Best part is getting Jonah(School of Eng's Rep) all wet... tongue.gif )
For the car park part...
I think sooner or later I will get used to the life of finding a parking slot in the almost-everytime-full carpark...
Worst case scenario...
Both car park got full and I'm gonna park my car at Sunway Pyramid...
The 20mins of canopy walk is good for our health right???

u can actually park at the roadside(the road built with red bricks, the road to southquay and badminton court). Just don't park ur car near the roundabout or they will clamp it
