i was asked to swipe 12 times within a month to get AF waiver for my cash back card. they said any amount 12 times. i'm not in malaysia otherwise can pump petrol for few cents 12 times. any idea how to get this thing? was thinking to donate through paypal for few cents twelve times.

JUst got reply from them today after submitted my application online yesterday. The representative say i have to get 2 cards to get the RM300 rebate promotion=.=

here the update.. after saying that I'm very disappointed with their CS and saying that hope they understand how they feel if someone spell their name wrongly. Plus I am saying that I will escalate this issue to Bank Negara if the problem is not solved since it's involved my Identity. And why I need to trouble myself to go to Citibank HQ since it is their agent fault at first.

Here the timeline

22/09/2014 - report to CS FB.
22/09/2014 - receive their CS call but miscall.
23/09/2014 - receive call again, answer and they ask verification document. email it to them.
24/09/2014 - they reply email said that received and forwarded to the PIC.
24/09/2014 - they call to verify the document and ask me to stop using the CC since they will block it and issue a new card. expect delivery of card within 2-3 working days.
Today (25/09/2014) - Login to Citibank Online. Check my Profile, The Name has been updated/corrected.

see it is simple... just take 4 days to settle.

im thinking of upgrading my current platinum rewards to platinum cashback , can anyone confirm that annual fee for platinum cashback is waived with 12 swipes ?

can i simply call citibank to upgrade the card or must i provide all the documents again ?

or should i cancel platinum rewards first then apply for platinum cash back ?

last time i want to cancel my platinum rewards the CS said they will cancel my citibank account as well , i said what does my credit card has anything to do with my normal savings account , they say its procedure. true meh ?

I have been using the Platinum Rewards card on the 2nd year now. Thinking of cancelling it because the annual fee of rm200 is too high , yeah i know i can just cancel 1 of the categories This card is issued by Visa

Am currently a maybank2kad platinum holder so the annual income is not really an issue plus my maybank card is both amex and master.

I still want to have a citibank card but the annual fee really turns me off , just need to have 1 Visa card. So i guess the AF waiver for the cashback platinum really depends on luck else have to get the choice card.

thats good to know ,  i thot u must have at least one category active at all times , this seems like a much easier way to go , just get 1 point for every spending , .coz i usually use the card for online transactions overseas so i guess that doenst count as X5 rewards points either. so might as well cancel the categories.
