Can only open new account in banks (mbb, cimb, rhb), Pos Malaysia & ASNB branch. No online Reg for ASx funds. Everyone need the passbook.
"top-up" can be done online (m2u) but only for bumi unit holders  cry.gif  even after using online "top-up", u need to update the passbook at counter.

u can "try" your luck on opening the account, but don't be too hopeful. The staff normally won't entertain for fixed price fund.

Variable pricing fund are available. ASN3 & ASG.

Thanks for your information. I'm a non-bumi and I'm so sad to know how unfair non-bumis are treated in transactions of ASNB funds shakehead.gif seems like we can only depend on LUCK even when trying to open up an account, not to say buying the funds.

Anyway, which type of fund do you recommend between fixed price fund and variable price fund? It should be fixed price fund, right? Coz I won't be suffering any loss at the point of selling, yet collecting good dividends from ANSB every year.

Currently Only ASN3 & ASG funds are available to non-bumi. it's variable pricing fund juz like UT. Daily pricing can refer to ASNB website.

Basing on the most recent stats, looks like we should invet in ASG-P since it gives the highest rate, right ?
When is dividend given out and how many times a year ?

Is the price generally going up ?
I see all the 3 ASG funds having more than 1.0000 rate and I supposed when it was launched that rate was 1.0000 but now, the rates are higher, e.g. ASG-P today's rate is 1.2268 / 1.2881. So does it mean not only we earn more than FD rate, we also earn from capital gains when the price increase ?

Haha, sorry. FD is Malaysian term for Fixed Deposit. CD is U.S. term for Certificate of Deposit which is same as FD. Dunno why I use the U.S. term, I should have said FD.
So can ASN3 and ASG earn higher than FD rates and if yes, what is the average yrly rate ? Yes

I went to post office this afternoon and found the daily rates for ASG Sara, ASG Sihat, ASG Didik - so non-bumis can invest in these 3 funds ? But the buy/sell rate is a bit steep - 5%. Yes, if u invest via EPF is cheaper

Dividend declare once a yr and pd on every 1st Apr
Price movement is dependent on market value of equity n non equity
For variable fund, yo returns = dividend + capital appreciation/depreciation

I know the feeling bro. Try & error is not the best way. but if you're lucky then it's worth it every minute u spend on it sweat.gif
The risk is much lower in fixed price fund compare with variable pricing fund. it's all depend on your preference & risk appetite icon_rolleyes.gif

after going through a very drought season for my trial to bank in into the asnb funds, right now, i am thinking about diversification. i am thinking about investing in AmDynamic Bond as a form of diversification..

but due to my income constraint, accuracy of decision is important.

I will use AmDynamic Bond as my Plan B, as my Plan A to try bank in is no longer easy compared to before.. shakehead.gif

For ASG Funds, how is the dividend computed ? If I buy on Dec 1, will I earn 4 mths interest paid on April 1 or the full 12 mths interest ?

ASG has 3 funds; if I want to invest in all 3 funds, do I have to open 3 separate accounts ? What docs needed to open account - just IC will do ?
Can open ac 1st and later invest when funds are available or only can open ac when got funds for sale ?
