QUOTE(cheahcw2003 @ Jun 19 2014, 11:40 AM) they offered no SC before, many bumi investors manipulated it to gain handsome profit. Most private fund houses value the fund price on the current day, they apply forward pricing, for example if u invest RM1000 today, u will not know how much units you got it until the bursa closing on that day at 5pm, fund manager will calculate the price based on the closing equity price to determine the fund price thereafter. ASNB variable funds' price work differently, it uses historical valuation methods, meaning today's selling price is fixed early in the morning and the price was fixed based on yesterday's index. So it is easier to manipulate, say if u see today index up by 3%, u can buy at yesterday pricing on today, to capture the 3% gain. But the 5% service charge set as a barrier for opportunist to do so, as it increases the investment cost... Hope u can catch what i am trying to say.... Oh I didn't know they offered no SC before well if they offer it now, I'm one that would "manipulated" it to gain some profit Anyway It's good to know some info about those Variable pricing fund esp the private one. ASNB one I know they fixed the price in the morning based on previous day closing.

QUOTE(yorkhan @ Jun 19 2014, 08:09 PM) guys, i want to check with you guys, my mum went to CIMB to check to buy ASM shares, they wanted to charge 5% fee for purchase. If KWSP is 3%. Is it true? Are u sure it's ASM not ASN? because ASM is fixed price & NO SC 5% or 3% EPF or the banks staff trying to "cheat" your mum into ASN scheme?

QUOTE(yorkhan @ Jun 19 2014, 10:08 PM) Its ASN. Sorry. So the 5% charge is normal? Why got charge? yup, it's normal 5% for ASNB variable price fund. The fee levied by the manager on the investor to cover the costs of distributing (i.e. selling), marketing & advertising the unit trust fund

ASB is the best fund in ASNB thank god i am a non malay bumiputera yup, you're not alone. different people have different style. some would withdraw ALL & close the account, some would withdraw & juz keep min balance there. I hate to admit it, but ASB is the best investment in Malaysia. u did the right decision

QUOTE(cheahcw2003 @ Jun 21 2014, 11:20 AM) Those who hesitating to invest in AS1m on the first year of launching can't invest anymore in year 2 due to the same reason. Year 1 of as1m, non bumi quota aplenty. Who ask them to listen to the so-called "expert" who said the fund only would give 4% dividend Now they suffer bcoz cannot open new account. After 1st dividend out, all butthurt This post has been edited by davinz18: Jun 21 2014, 01:04 PM

QUOTE(wil-i-am @ Jun 21 2014, 01:35 PM) For non-bumi, too late However, bumi still have time to open AS1M I'm referring to non-bumi. Some are smart & juz invest small amount that time to get the passbook as for Bumi still have around 1bil units left but with opening of ASB2, I don't think AS1M would be sold-out anytime soon

QUOTE(Berkshire Breakaway @ Jun 21 2014, 04:39 PM) last time there were also people saying there are cases where you cannot sell your units when to0 many people sell. wow i am surprised how people are ill hearted creating rumors just because non bumi quota has finished. the only time i know you cannot trade is when it is closed for declaration of dividend. The so-called rumors started well before the official launch & it went for another few months until some people realized it not the truth. but by then It's already selling fast & those who realized it too late failed to open the new account (non-bumi). » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « QUOTE(Berkshire Breakaway @ Jun 22 2014, 10:34 PM) just wanted to share how ignorant malaysians are today i went to maybank to cash in some cheques as the cheque deposit machine was down at the same time i tried to update my ASNB passbooks. the teller is telling me how come i can have ASB if i am not a muslim that b**** refused to update my book. she's doing like i stole someone's book or something. how stupid can they be? don't they know what is bumiputera? not all bumiputera are muslim. i called the bank manager and shouted at her in front of everyone i also called her stupid. i feel good now after scolding her. everyone stared at her. i don't understand why they make a big fuss out of non muslim bumi people we do not enjoy ALL the privileges (discounts) as malays and other muslims bumi people. they should know that. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « QUOTE(Berkshire Breakaway @ Jun 23 2014, 04:02 PM) actually i composed the original message on my laptop last friday - not the day i posted (which was sunday) that time was very panas - don't know why i did not revise it before pasting it onto forum last sunday my identity card already show her lah, it has a christian name although got state bumi. actually i also syiok sendiri lah, i only yelled at her, just exaggerating a bit, don't have that much balls to shout so loud. i am a professional not ah beng okay? the manager was very apologetic and seemed very competent - made me feel kinda bad in the end so i told to him it is okay no big deal just that he needs to train his staff - he said he would take action however the staff was really not qualified, her english was also very bad. i wonder if these graduates really pass their exams or just bribe their way thru. i almost asked if she's from UITM - but i controlled myself The staff shouldn't do that to u even after showing your IC as proof. She need to read back the ASNB funds "eligibility to invest". It's already clearly stated there Uitm is very sensitive issue yo. u damn lucky not to ask her if she graduated from there (based on her English proficiency)

QUOTE(cheahcw2003 @ Jun 23 2014, 12:01 AM) This translate into: ASD - 11, 816 ASM - 2,940 ASW - 4627 quitting the fund. The most numbers of quitting is ASD, which also the smallest fund size among the 3, and only open to Bumi. your calculation seems wrong. It should be: ASD - 12,275 ASW - 7,627

QUOTE(Archer17 @ Jun 24 2014, 11:12 AM) then how about asw2020? i read is open for non bumi??!! i misread or is old thing? ASW2020 got 51% (bumi) - 49% (non-bumi) quota. Currently the non-bumi quota are sold-out. When there's people "selling" their units, u may get the available units (non-bumi). This only applied to those with asw2020 passbook. If no passbook, u can forget it, no chance to open new account & get the available units

QUOTE(onmiwei @ Jun 24 2014, 04:30 PM) Hello, I'm new to this forum. I have invested in amanah saham malaysia some time ago. If I want to add more units online i.e cimbclicks or maybank2u, how to know units available for reinvestment? I have asked maybank via email but they inform me to check any nearby branch for info. ASM are currently sold-out. If there's people who "sells" their units, then only u may have the chance to get the available units. u can "try" your luck at Maybank, CIMB, RHB, Pos Malaysia & also ASNB branch.

did some simple calculation based on Info in ASM AR 2014 (not sure if correct or not) ASM NAV as 31 March 2014 is 1.0545 15,121,400,000/14,339,419,000 = 1.0545 (*Total NAV/Total units as 31 March) *Based on yuran pengurusan figure x 100%
