QUOTE(guilty25 @ May 1 2014, 10:36 AM) Was at CIMB bangsar yesterday. Managed to open ASB2, AS1M and ASW2020 accounts yesterday. Hopefully these investments will give decent returns. The cimb staff very helpful. i was a bit blur about the procedures but they were patient and friendly towards me. Got everything done in 1 hour! don't worry much. ASNB scheme normally give min 6sen p.a for those fixed price fund. u won't never get wrong with it. FYI ASW2020 & AS1M no limit like ASB & ASB2, so u can deposit anytime any amount when u got the time & money

QUOTE(Sarah Jessica @ May 1 2014, 04:59 PM) Why not? Who would give u 60k dividend p.a with such low risk investment. It's dividend rate also higher than most FD / low risk investment u can find in Malaysia. This only applied for the fixed price fund & if you're bumiputera. Non-bumi is out of question because mostly are sold-out Yup. I kinda agree with you. Too bad Non-bumi quota are sold-out right now Need to try luck

QUOTE(mois @ May 2 2014, 03:13 PM) If u know the right person, you can put any amount you want. It's also depend on "try & error" method. They would do multiple time transaction on that day. I remember last year got one forummer deposit total 50K (donno true or not what she said). What she said they do multiple time transaction on different timing with different amount. End of day she would bring the cash to the person doing it. Wanna ask her more info but she MIA so long Last Active 29th December 2013 - 09:36 PM This post has been edited by davinz18: May 2 2014, 03:43 PM

QUOTE(topearn @ May 2 2014, 07:19 PM) Sorry, silly of me to ask in that way. Anyway, I've made my 1st investment in ASN..and it's in ASN3...bought from RHB and currently they have a promotion whereby they will rebate 50% of the sales charge, e.g. 2.5% after 1 mth. Variable funds like ASN3 and ASG are generally on a rising price trend and today's price vs Wed's price, there is a 0.4% rise. It's now selling at 1.1998 and I believe on Mon, it'll be 1.2XXX. Price changes once a day. It is just too troublesome to try to get the fixed funds like ASM, AS1M and ASW. These funds offer a slight financial advantage....main adv being no 5% sales charge...but for ASN3, with the rebate, we pay just 2.5% sales charge and I think with the possibly higher dividend rate and the capital gains (from the generally rising price)...I think ASN3 almost as good as the fixed funds in terms of yield. QUOTE(topearn @ May 2 2014, 07:39 PM) I duuno what it started and when will it end. The staff told me only RHB offer this rebate and it's only for ASN3. Something not right somewhere. Normally ASNB would offer SC discount & the ASNB agents just follow it just like the previous ASG offer. Agents just cannot give any SC discount by just bypassing ASNB, unless RHB use own money to "subsidize" the new/current unitholders lucifah can help give some answer on tis RHB discount on ASN3 SC This post has been edited by davinz18: May 2 2014, 10:35 PM

QUOTE(topearn @ May 2 2014, 11:51 PM) It is not ASNB offer SC discount. It is the agent...in this case RHB which is offering to earn less by rebating 50% of the SC back to the accountholders... I see this as a win-win situation...RHB get more sales and accountholders get the rebates. Okay. Somehow I understand tis is one of RHB strategy to increase their sale for ASN3 because I know not much people invest in ASN3. One risk is if they don't rebate back the money to your account later. It's better to give discount on the spot rather than later after paying 5% SC 1st QUOTE(Ancient-XinG- @ May 3 2014, 02:57 PM) erm, then who will tanggung the remaining 3%? I think RHB bank tanggung it This post has been edited by davinz18: May 3 2014, 03:13 PM

QUOTE(cheahcw2003 @ May 3 2014, 09:01 PM) Agent banks got commissions for selling the ASNB's variable funds, RHB pays back to the investors. Last visit to CIMB Preferred banking center, saw one Relationship Manager selling ASB2 to a Datuk/ Tan Sri, overheard the Datuk invest few hundred thousands with 5% sales charge, i guess the bank get commission for selling ASN2/ ASN3, like selling other unit trust. The only different is RHB give the commission back to investors as rebate. Do u know the % commissions the agents get for selling ASNB fund?

QUOTE(topearn @ May 4 2014, 03:56 PM) I think these agents are just bank employees with title Relationship managers and thier job is to sell ASN funds and maybe also insurance like endowment plans (at least this is what the relationship member in RHB Taipan Subang Jaya does). So they just earn a salary and not pocket the sales charge of ASN funds....and they have a target to meet like all sales agents. If they managed to sell say RM500,000 worth of ASN funds to a rich Datuk, RHB might get the 5% sales charge which is a whooping RM25,000......but the relatoinship member will have no share to this. I tot the staff get basic salary+commissions on the amount ASNB fund they sell? Not forgetting need to meet target. if target not achieved for few months then can say bye2 to the job

QUOTE(cheahcw2003 @ May 5 2014, 02:52 PM) No, I prefer their fixed price fund. For The variable price funds, many other fund houses outperformed asnb's variable price funds. Can check the overall fund performance at the following independent website:- Http://My.morningstar.combro do u mean this website -> https://my.morningstar.com/ap/fundselect/results.aspx

Why must worry about change in gomen & the effect on ASNB & it's funds. The same people/staff would be working there. Maybe got some "cosmetic" changes (elect new PR/other friendly & remove BN friendly directors). hint: juz look at Penang & Selangor District Council people/staff

QUOTE(plumberly @ May 9 2014, 03:17 PM) Good comparison. But I have my suspicion that the magic hand in there may be removed or reduced with a new govt. E.g., no more special IPO allocation for ASX funds, plus other sure-win deals from the govt. Of course, ideally one will want the fund managers to do their job with a high return without any hidden/special treatments from other companies/govt. Just speaking my mind. Cheerio. Nowdays the "special" IPO allocation are from the so-called cornerstone thingy (institution portion), not the MITI allocation (I remember someone mention even Bumi only ASx fund cannot apply MITI allocation, need to apply via institution portion). Maybe earlier days got special treatment but not now Anyway I juz hope the ASx performance would be okay even if there's change in Gomen

QUOTE(cybermaster98 @ May 15 2014, 02:30 PM) Finally opened ASB2 yesterday at Maybank. But didnt see the additional 10 units? Is that credited at the end of the financial year? I think later the 10 units would be credited into your account. Anyway better call & confirm with ASNB on the 10units thingy. Who know suddenly they change the TnC

QUOTE(plumberly @ May 24 2014, 03:44 PM) Don't quite understand your question. PM here has 1 or 2 counters for ASNB customers. Get a ticket number and wait. What I mean was, to do ASNB transaction need to take "others services" number at PM branch & wait for your turn. The PM branch only have 3 type of number. 1 - JPJ 2 - Bills 3 - Others services
