Actually I also encounter almost similar situation but the auntie gave the counter staff other people passbook. I saw few ASM, ASW2020 & AS1M passbook. The staff told her that they cannot proceed because it's others people passbook. They ask her to give back the passbook to the owner & ask themselves to come to "try" their luck

QUOTE(plumberly @ Apr 18 2014, 01:29 PM) So that is why some collect the passbooks and then process them later. Wondered why this operation mode as calling back the customers later is not as efficient as processing the transaction straight away when the customers handed in the passbooks. Same here. It's seem I get better service if related to Savings or FD transaction compare with ASNB transaction (both Maybank & CIMB). RHB I donno what to say about their services At MB that I go to, one staff processes the transaction straight away while the counter next to that collects the passbooks first. I guess it is up to the staff on the methodology. The weird thing that I noted is, when I go to deposit/withdraw from my saving or FD, I have NOT experienced the poor service that I sometimes see when I go there for the ASX. Any one noted the same thing? Cheerio. P/S For those in Sarawak, enjoy your Good Friday break! |

QUOTE(csl1987 @ Apr 18 2014, 09:09 PM) I guess the reason why staffs are more helpful in doing savings or FD transaction is because they won't have to try multiple times for a transaction that may or may not happened. End of the day, the staffs have to print out a long list of report for each of their counters, have to calculate the transactions per day (and also the amount involved)...the higher the transactions being done by him/her, the more capable he/she is in the eyes of manager...therefore, a staff that are helpful in doing void transactions (trying multiple times for ASX fund and end up nothing) will have lesser transaction and turn up to be less competent to his/her manager... but for ASNB transaction there's one dedicated counter for it & the staff rotate on daily basis. Even he/she do void transactions at ASNB counter, next day can "cover" back at other banking counter. So everyone sure kena & no one escape If a staff practice "customer comes first", he/she might risk their performance and annual bonus |

QUOTE(justin_5 @ Apr 23 2014, 10:29 AM) hi lucifah, about the AS1M, i went to maybank and asked about the AS1M coz i was always confused by it though i havent open an acc because ASX havent even full, but the thing is they told me no such thing as bumi quota, its free for all. however, based on your previous comments, if im not mistaken, u handle your client's investment portfolio therefore i would think that you are more knowledgeable than the bank's clerks. I think the bank teller confuse on what u trying to say. Maybe they mistaken AS1M for ASM (common mistake for newbie teller or those 1st time doing / attending ASNB transaction counter). ASM no Quota & it's free for all, while AS1M is 50% bumi, 30% chinese, 15% indian & 5% others.. so, my question is, other than ASX is for Bumi while AS1M has bumi quota and non bumi, any other amanah saham that has bumi quota and has not been fully subscribed? thx QUOTE(justin_5 @ Apr 23 2014, 12:02 PM) oh, i googled, by gold you mean the slightly brown one called ASM? ASM sold out because it's No racial quota. It's free for all, while AS1M & ASW2020 got quota. That's why u see ASM sold out while other are still available for Bumi.-edit- hm.. AS1M dividens are high than ASM but ASM is sold out. is it purely because it was launch at 2000 while AS1M at 2009? if so i would think AS1M would also be full very quick. dont know where can source for cash to put in first FYI AS1M almost "full" for Bumi Quota but won't be sold-out because of ASB2 Below I attach ASx Passbook Pict » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « This post has been edited by davinz18: Apr 23 2014, 03:27 PM |

QUOTE(lucifah @ Apr 23 2014, 03:52 PM) good pic. tq for clarifying them. Now because Jibby is PM, his "1M" logo is all over the place. Before this W2020. Next PM come, we get new logo & maybe new ASx fund also i always mistook the gold book and the red book as ASM and ASW2020 the ugly yellow book i will always remember as AS1M as i also got tired of 1M branding everything from taxi to shop to house to Amanah Saham QUOTE(lucifah @ Apr 23 2014, 03:54 PM) Yup, given special permission by ex-PM Mahathir but some mix minority are excluded like Peranakan Baba-Nyonya & chitty melaka |

I'm not sure about those top level politicians, but what I know those grassroots politician (ketua bahagian / cawangan, district councilor etc.) do invest in ASx fund Wonder how many politicians invest in ASNB funds. Too small for them? Cheerio. |

Try to max ASB 1st, then only look for others ASx even as1m is full, theres still asw2020 and etc etc all giving above 6% consistently. i think its clear already and i would proceed to plan my funds accordingly. thx to all brothers juz my personal opinion. ASB2 I've no comment right now. Some say it's Mixed Asset fund, may perform lower than ASB but higher than others ASx fund.. |

QUOTE(my44 @ Apr 25 2014, 04:00 PM) Is there a quick way to know if ASB2 already sold out? Wait for PNB announcement? Normally u can know by asking the agents or ASNB branch. They can "check" units availability at the moment. PNB official announcement sometimes very late.. I imagine with only 10 bil fund size, should be sold out quickly, no? Summor it's targetted at rich Bumi who has maxed out ASB. Any ideas? I don't think 10b units can be sold-out so quickly. If really "hot selling" maybe by year end can achieve |

QUOTE(blackswan88 @ Apr 25 2014, 06:01 PM) I heard of ASB 2 has been launched in early of this month, and i would like to do a research on this. I have a few question on this new investment scheme: This post has been edited by davinz18: Apr 25 2014, 06:14 PM(i) If a person has purchased or invested his maximum limit in ASB which is 200000 unit, can he invest in ASB2? Yes (ii) Currently, is there any bank or institution that will provide loan or financing for this investment? If yes, which bank? People say Maybank got, please do confirm 1st (iii) Is there any difference for ASB and ASB 2? If yes, what is the difference between ASB and ASB2? http://www.asnb.com.my/asb.htm http://www.asnb.com.my/asb2.htm (iv) Currently, which bank or institution (such as pos office or Maybank) can allow for the application of ASB2? (i only know that we can apply ASB 2 through Maybank) ASNB Branch, Maybank, CIMB, RHB & Pos Malaysia (v) Is current ASB loan can also used to finance ASB 2? Nope Hope that the ASB expert can help me on this |

QUOTE(rafeal @ Apr 27 2014, 02:14 PM) Hi Sifu's Simple newbie advice, just look at the post above u posted by tbheng. Focus on the highest ROI I plan to invest in this as well. But there are so many shares to choose from. Is there any way to narrow down this. I am a non-bumi, so means i cant just walk in and buy as many as i want correct? The one u said cannot buy as many u want is Fixed price fund. That's one sold-out for non-bumi. If u really want it, u need to try luck & get helpful counter staff to "help" u. It's better if u already got the account/passbook. |

QUOTE(rafeal @ Apr 27 2014, 03:36 PM) Hi, The fixed price fund is ASW2020, ASM & AS1M. Thank you for the explanation. It was a great help. I was under the assumption that all the funds are fixed price at RM1 and are guaranteed never below Rm1. In this case there's not much difference with this and Public Mutual Funds? correct me if im wrong ASG & ASN3 is variable price fund. I'm not expert on PM fund but looking at the PM thread, some funds are not performing well, I assume p/s: look at post #2336 & #2337 on Public Mutual Thread |
