QUOTE(travis_ckf @ Sep 24 2007, 09:56 PM) Well, that's what you get for stacking two ND8 together and 1 ND grad. Though it can be fixed with the raw converter, but i like the way it turned out. |

QUOTE(kwws @ Oct 1 2007, 09:55 PM) im using Fuji S9500... dude, no worries, you can use a normal cokin P holder on that camera! but for such creamy effect normally hav to expose afew seconds rite...starting from F11 i wonder how many stops to reach few secs lol and about the aperture, there's not necessary to get a creamy effect, most of the superb shots i see in the news paper only used an ND grad, and mostly depends on the availability of the light surrounding the scene. For the shots its around 645pm to 730pm. I went f22 because i wanna utilize my ND8s and learn to use the remote shutter that i purchased not long ago haha... f11 is already essential for taking good landscapes. If you have a remote shutter, all you need is a ND grad filter, then a sturdy tripod and time your shots nicely. |

i tot ND ARE suppose to be neutral? so effectively, how many stops did you get all together? |

QUOTE(Lurker @ Oct 2 2007, 12:08 PM) "Side note: People might ask:"Why the purple/red tint?". The picture below will tell. i tot ND ARE suppose to be neutral? so effectively, how many stops did you get all together? with 1 ND8 filter: Looks like a normal shot, nothing much here. ![]() Exposure comp: +0.7step Now stack two ND8 together and this is what you get: ![]() Exposure comp: +2.7step Now stack two ND8 and a ND8 grad ![]() Exposure comp: +2.7step ND8 = 3 stops Now ever wonder why Cokin filters are cheaper than those Lee and Hi-Tech filters? Hope this explains everything. This post has been edited by R a D ! c 4 L: Oct 2 2007, 03:14 PM |

They doesnt go right with portrait model pics rite...? Correct me if im wrong.. ND Gradual Filters are actually a very essential tool for landscape photography. Normal ND filters allow one to use a slow shutter in broad daylight, like this:![]() Two ND8(3stops x 2) + ND6 Grad and +Polarizer = 8 stops. Exposure compensation +2.7ev Normally ND grad will do the job. But you still can play around with its effect. For portraits... ppl do say:"you have to be creative". So i think someone in this world might found a way to use filters on portraits. QUOTE(Lurker @ Oct 3 2007, 08:17 AM) Not a problem man. QUOTE(lvyk @ Oct 3 2007, 08:25 PM) Thanks.Haha, those color tint can be mimic through RAW converters too. This post has been edited by R a D ! c 4 L: Oct 4 2007, 09:15 PM |
