mind if i ask u bro.. which is ur favourite camera.. D70? E500? or 350D? haha..
Hmmm, hard to choose from. I cant fully utilize the nikon. I'd say all of them are nice

It's all the same once you get the hang of each camera

The ultimate camera for me is the EOS 5D

The trick with using flash in macro is not to use the flash as your keylight, use it as a fill instead. If you use it as a keylight, the flash to distance ratio rule will apply. You get a properly exposed "area" (i didnt say subject coz ur flash wasnt aimed directly on it

) then the background gets very dark, unless the background is very close to your subject. If you wanna use your flash as the keylight, you will need another flash to fill the background.
OTOH, if you use the ambient light as keylight, the whole background will be properly lit, you just need to fill the subject. Since it is so close to the subject, the flash usually will fire at faster speed and lower power

freezing whatever crap that's there.
Anyway, I don't use flash usually. 90% of my macros were done with natural light only hehe.
hmmm... the problem is place where i go hunting is kinda dark. If i used a high aperture the whole see will be dark. Im not confident enough to use a shallow aperture to compose, that's why i stick to F8-f11 all the way. =/
any other tips to share?

#3. An orange fly. Kinda small actually <---like this one...but how come the green leave doesnt really seem like green to me?
#4. Grasshoppers...<---like this one too, seems like the grasshopper is stalking/spying on something..nice!
#7 <--popping out of nowhere...hehe, nice also
btw, i think u can also try diff angle? try to make the background more blur (a matter of preference

)
Cuz i used a daylight white balance to bring out the greens.

and i guess the flash did the job

was lucky on those grasshoppers shots
