Nice high-key photos. However, you need to get a higher and wider wall to eliminate the disturbance of the background.

I like how you composed to give emphasis on the model's long skinny legs. However, the lighting did not do justice to her left thigh. Changing the angle of the lighting might be better.

you introduced too many dimensions into the picture, it is hard to get rid of all of them unless you have lots of strobes/flashes to overexpose every one of the walls/floor/ceiling, and a 1-2 more to fill the subject. Even a 2 dimension picture (wall only) requires 2 strobes/flash to light the wall and minimum 1 flash to fill the subject. I wasnt satisfied with my own shots, I had only 2 flashes and they had to do 4 flashes' job 2 more coming though

btw, how many did you use to take those shots? 1 at lower right and another in front as fill?

hmmm lets see, its actually a shoot for my college assignment. The challenge is only use a max of 2 strobes/flash.

My settings for that shot is 1 strobe with a large softbox and another one with a standard reflector on the opposite to blast on the wall:-

something like this might work:


include only wall and floor, flash @ wide angle

it's good to isolate the backlight from the subject, otehrwise it will spill into the fill light and overexpose the shirt like the first picture....waist gone

Hmmm, will give that a try again, my next project is another kind of lighting, which im having troubles trying to figure out the lighting setup =/ Actually i dont mind if the waist is gone, the shadow would help solve that but yes, its better to get it right on the spot I cant use a dedicated on camera flash cuz i have to use the remote trigger on the hot shoe to trigger the main strobe. The reason why i wanted her to stick to the wall is because i wanted to play with the shadow, somehow i thought that the shadow might work.

I cannot recreate the actual setup "scene" with my puny flashes and my living room is not huge enough for a giant softbox...not to mention no $$ oso

High key dun want shadow ler...your flash/stobe was placed too low ler...should have kicked the shadow to the floor. But anyway, big mistake to introduce so many dimensions at the first place

I was messing with my camera also, i thought I can use TTL + manual flash..but the damn camera doesnt send voltage trigger to the pc sync terminal when using TTL mode...i was hoping to get 3 flash out of 2 external + 1 built in.

U have lots of walls and angles in the 2 pictures but not enough strobe to expose all of them properly to flat out the background...that's what I meant by lots of dimensions and not enough strobe. If you keep it only to the wall and floor, no ceiling and another wall from another angle..I believe u can get away with 2 big strobe with reflector

Those are not lingerie la, that's a cloth designed by Evon herself It part of the whole design

I think Pw is 300+ usd for 1st set (transmitter + 1 X receiver) and USD150-200 for every additional receiver. I'm using ebay RF transmitter/receiver....RM100 a set, RM40 for each additional receiver

I'm waiting for 2 more vivitar 285HV, that gives me 3 X vivitar 285 HV + 1 X sb600 + 1 X reflector
