no what he means is , he wants to maintain 4x3 scans ratio on his widescreen while seeing video,

just download BSplayer, install codec, and press "A" to cycle through all known ratio from 16x9 to anarmohpic to 4x3, and you can even create custom one in settings. eg 16x10.

if u set a desire scan size, press "O" to scale to size depends on the ratio. hope this clear up..

its very usefull for me as some video are ripp in wrong ratio setting , eg 4x3 then ripp in 16x9 ratio , i just fix it by cycle the ratio with "A" ...viola perfect scale...

I wont be able to get rid of the 2 black bar on both left and right while connecting usi dvi. I watch all my rmvb hk series with 2 black bar at both side as those should be rip in ration 4:3
*
I don't care even if I can't get rid of the black bars as long as all 4:3 videos shows perfectly in 4:3 ratio and don't stretch itself to fit the monitor.

As already mentioned numerous time, you will had 4:3 perfectly. That why you still able to see 2 black bars on both side. If is full screen, how you going to expect a 4:3 video fitting in a 16:10 screen without stretch.

what if i buy another 2 5:4 lcd sreen to complement the one i bought last year, to make a super wide screen?

of course there's going to be borders but hey it's WIDE~

it's be a 15:4 screen, wider than whatever avaiable in the market... but damn the borders..

Well in fact you can buy 2 x 19" and rotate them vertically smile.gif
The ratio will become (4x2) : 5, = 8 : 5 = 16 : 10.

Resolution will be 2048 x 1280. You definitely need a decent VGA card with dual monitor supported.

A 24" Dell Wide LCD resolution is 1920 x 1200, slightly lower than the 2 x 19" 2048 x 1280, but heck both setup will have the same 16 : 10 ratio.... thumbup.gif

If you want to save cost on single 24" wide setup, and wanted to have dual monitor setup to do your works, buy 2 x 17" or 19" with rotatable stand to vertical mode will be another viable solution.. wub.gif

There is no such thing as 5:4. doh.gif

It is either 4:3 or 16:10, where the fǔck you get 5:4 ratio LCD?

So if you get 2x19" 4:3, rotate them and run 2 side by side, it will be (3x2) : 4 = 6:4

Yes, there are. FYI, those normal (non-widescreen) 17" and 19" LCD are using 1280x1024 native resolution which is 5:4 aspect ratio.

u let ur monitor sleep (eg : 15 mins auto-off) then it won't wake up again if u try to wake it up. Have to manually unplug your cable then replug for it to work.

haha u still dont understands what he ask , its very simple, he just want to know how/or what apps to let him adjust/maintain the original ratio scan even when running the app in fullscreen mode, or simply strech maximum fit in horizontal, while maintaining true 4x3 ratio. hence the black bars on side..

eg, Bs player in fullscreen mode, can select multiple ratio, cycling ratio type by pressing "A" , 4x3,16x9,anamorhpic ,etc

.................................

as for ratio types here some refferences,

guys dont argue lah, just say disagree can liao, everyone have rights on commends..
