After you cleaned the MAF, felt any difference?

Actually no i guess but my fuel efficiency still then same as new all these while. On PLUS highway la. City very hard to gauge. Plus now really short distance.

I dont mind doing though since its diy and the spray is cheap

MAF cleaner but not liqui moly one but CRC

I saw YouTubers used crc before shouldn’t be a problem too. Let it sit for a while more? Maybe put it under a fan or something. Don’t do anything drastic.

I waited about 30 minutes for it to dry completely and the car can start without any issue.

The back side with black plastic has stain d, I thought its moisture but then when I touch it it is dry.

Performance wise not much difference, but feel very slight improvement in power when moving from still.
*
yeah, probably you wont feel much difference, except for very slight one until you wonder if its just you imagining it. but its good to maintain. kinda cheap anymore, anggap like maintain cabin air filter or engine air filter lor

Update for you guys.. Just done replacing the lower arm and tie rod end. The feel after replacing these parts is great. Steering feel became firmer, less harsh vibration feel on rough asphalt and less knocking sound when going through potholes.

I feel if your car is 10 years old and above, it is worth changing these parts or at least inspect to see whether it is worn out.
user posted image

The blue circle shows the ball joint.. Mine was loose and have free play which means time for replacement.

The yellow circle also shows the bushing is a worn out. You can basically wiggle it front and back.. Under normal circumstances, it should not move as the rubber bushing will absorb the vibration and knocks.

I forgot to snap the worn tie rod end photo but it also has free play dy.

So what are you all waiting for? Go change it and feel the difference.

whats the damage? u get the part from VMag direct?

Parts, labour and alignment.. Around 1100.. I just let VMAG order the parts for me.. Sometimes will get special discount.  biggrin.gif

the price for the denso motor that i replace is pretty standard also. so i think his price not far off from honda stockist. which is great, no need go here and there to buy parts and fix laugh.gif

KYB Excel G... This absorber is a little bit on the hard side but it is cheap and affordable.

My next replacement will go back to Showa again.
*
I see. My next gonna try Kyb ultra rs. But online hard to find for our model. I did found in google that there is a few Kyb distributors at Japan Ipoh. May want to call them up and see if got stock, when the time comes.

If you're looking for a comfortable ride, don't play with KYB RS Ultra lor. Even their normal Excel G is a little stiff for me> Thus, the RS Ultra will be even stiffer.

If you have the budget, best to go for Showa and replace all the absorber mounting, bump stops etc.
*
Lol. I thought rs is better hence more comfortable lol. Then my assumption wrong. Lol.

I changed absorber mount and bump before. I believe they are still well. In any case, lesson learned. I will buy absorbers and go vmag. If mount and bump need replacing, get from him. If not. Money saved.

Showa kinda expensive. Macam not willing to spend lol. And the ori absorber always scratched the speed bumps in my condo.

Actually, if one decides to fully restore the absorber, be prepared to fork out around RM1.2k for Showa absorbers. This includes replacing all the absorber mounting, bump stops, dust cover etc.
*
AR actually quoted me 1.7k (i think) for everything a few years ago, if its 1.2k for everything, still ok wor.

few days ago, i notice this after a cursory check, i notice that the highlighted part has a trace of oil there, seems to be seeping out very little.
there is no dripping, just traces of oil, and considering Vmag helped to cleaned my engine bay previously, now only i notice it.

is this the solenoid valve rubber seal that need to be replaced? seems like in GM2 FB, there is a lot of ppl talking about this, but theirs are more serious, dripping down.
this is something that can be fixed around rm180-200 ish right?

Do check if you have a pool of oil sitting on top of the solenoid gearbox ?

Leaks might be multiple locations according to those city driver on fb
Like spool valve, VTEC solenoid, engine oil caps or engine head cover seal etc
*
i googled spool valve its the same with solenoid kan?
there is no noticeable oil elsewhere, it may not be clear in the pic but its quite clear from what i look the trace of oil is from the highlighted part. it didn't even seep further.
engine oil and head cover is totally different part so I'm positive that's not the case.
in any case, i have replaced my engine oil cap late last year. there is oil around it before and i thought oil might be spilled during engine oil change over the years.
Vmag did say it might spill from engine oil cap so just replaced it since its 10 years + cheap.

i highlight again in orange colour here:

You can send it over to VMAG and ask him to replace all those solenoid seals. It won't cost much.
*
so its really there and called solenoid seals right?

You try clean it again and observe further. Sometimes, those residue could be from outside rain water that went in during your drive in the rain.
*
good advice. haha. I'll see how to clean it. i don't have any degreaser or that kind of product at all.
in any case, its very minor, I'll wait till around april during my oil change as well.
in the meantime, I'll take up your advice.

Spool valve is VTEC solenoid filter
The orange circle area were the solenoid for AT
Bottom solenoid will have a piece of solenoid gasket on it

i become lagi blur with the picture, but good learning. coz a quick google search on vtec solenoid, they all show me the same thing as AT solenoid.
I'll probably spend some time google around this to learn.
thanks.

revisiting this again. today i have another look.
it seems like under this solenoid part, there are other parts further below seems to be oily, so it might be more than i first thought.
i cant any parts above that is oily, but its harder to see going up.

in any case, my plan is still the same, have it checked out during my next oil change. i did check my ATF level. still good.
