Stabilizer link for my previously. Very obvious when mechanic jack it up. Can see the bush koyak. But not sure if no jack up how. Should be easy as well. Try rotate tyre to max and see. Focus on the bush.

Ori is pretty cheap. For stabilizer link. Got separate bush as well. Need to buy separately

Would like to check with you guys whether any of you suffers slow or minimal coolant loss after a few months period? (say like 100 ml over the course of 3 months)?
*
I asked before here in forum i think but not much feedback.

Mine does loss but at what rate i not sure as i dont measure. Every few months i check and topup my reservoir tank. No gut to unscrew radiator cap.

Whats sure is. 2nd service out from SC (3 years warranty, so around 3 and half year to 4th year), while i still exploring outside workshop, the Foreman helped to add water into coolant. A week after, after so consideration, i bring back to sc and replace all the coolant. After that, i bought a bottle of 1L coolant to topup myself. And take notice and disallow anyone to add water during maintenance.

Sept will be my full 9 years. And i have used up the 1L. Left some only i believe. So. About 5 years need to topup 1L.

I got to know it is expected to seep a bit coolant from time to time as in general, the water pump seep abit so it can lubricate the bearings.

But how much coolant lost is acceptable. Its not available anywhere.

Mine also got minimal coolant loss without visible leaks. I suppose it should be fine gua?
*
I dunno bro. But considering outside workshop ada check and pandai pandai add, i think its normal. Lol.

By the way, that day check all my service receipts from official sc all those years ago. Maybe not useful for anyway one.

I just realize SC helped to change fuel filter towards the end of my 3 years. Probably around 50k km then. Didn't realize it and go ahead and change again when mine is around 110k km as per recommendation from here. Could have delayed it. Haha.

Talking about fuel filter, i think no harm changing it every 60k.

Mine was changed once at 40k and then subsequently at 100k.
*
No harm but could have delayed abit biggrin.gif

Anyone here had experience with aircond hissing noise ? Especially in the morning when start car, pls share 🙏🏻

Looking for recommendation aircond specialist in KL / Cheras area. Thanks in advance
*
me..
had it even when under warranty.
sc claim its "normal"

its on and off only. seldom. but most likely to happen when rev higher.

last time after i service my aircon outside, remove all gas, add in gas, add compressor oil, seems to stop.
but now it come back again. after a year i think.

by the way. despite to infrequent noise, my aircon is still going strong (*touch wood*) except when my magnetic clutch failed, which is when i also did all the above.

Serviced on time etc. Dunno what's wrong. I drive fairly slowly.
Never noticed any strong smell other than exhaust during cold start. Maybe O2 sensor?
Long distance can do 14km/l.
*
long distance 14km/l seems okay.

actually driving slow also a problem punya.
its more fuel efficient to get to top gear as soon as possible and then drive it smoothly.
rather than you step little, wait a long time for it to change to the most top gear. laugh.gif

A lot of cars now doesn't come with temperature gauge. Tbh, it is good to have as it allows you to monitor the temp and stop the car even before the engine overheats.
*
yeah..when its new i dont bother much. now.....not so sure laugh.gif
i read that there blue light whenever start up and red light. red light means overheat too late dah or what? biggrin.gif

You will know it is a wheel bearing issue when you jack the car up, shake the wheel at 9 & 3 o clock, and 12 & 6 o clock position. If it moves and there's play, your wheel bearing is bad.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p2nMCRaCspo
*
so i did jack up my car and doesnt wobble.
though i note that doesnt wobble doesnt mean no issue as if wobble means got issue to a certain extent already.

however, good thing is recently one of the road near my area got repave and i notice the wheels are damm silent when going through it.

i guess its my tyres then laugh.gif
using for close to 2 years i think, michelin xm2.
the front 2 are replaced after GST back to SST, after the tax grace period.

XM2 tyres are damn bloody noisy when it gets older. I'm using CC6 which is very comfy and silent but handling isn't impressive.
*
yeah..handling is what's in my mind.
another is...i wanted to but wasnt sure how long i will be driving this car.
xm2 is pretty long lasting. dry rot and noisy liao but still ada bunga

i'm a bit worried about driving in rain for other tyres.
was thinking to give cc6 a chance but all above make me continue with xm2.

also wanted to try yokohama bluearth es but dunno where available for our size.

Planning to change car?
*
Not really. I hope i can drive as well as possible. But at this stage around 9 years old now, cant really predict the future. On whether it will have more major problem or getting a "better" car. I would keep it as long as possible, whether as a second car or send back to hometown for my bro. If it have no major issue

For me as a driver and driving alone is not an issue but i think it slightly uncomfortable ride for my spouse and oldest daughter at 4. Have another daughter of less than one. All of them sit behind with 2 baby seats.

Anyone know what is this? Its right below the filter box.
The tip is like covered with oil, and its the open ended. not attached to anywhere.
Not sure if this is normal.

car no issue for a long time with it like this.

That hose is connected to the gearbox. I believe it is a vent pipe for the gearbox. There will be pressure built-up internally inside the gearbox, thus, that pipe is to allow pressure to be vented out from the gearbox.
*
so its..normal? both open ended and oil stained?

Open ended yes..

Oil stain - mine has got no oil stain wor. Probably you can just wipe the stain off. When was the last time you replaced your ATF?
*
just before mco.
and also changed the filter last year.
maybe its not "dripping" or "coming out".
just kena before during oil or filter replacement.

i not sure.

I wouldn't be too worried about a little oil stain at the hose.

You can try to clean it off and observe to see whether in the future, there's any more oil coming out from that hose.

thank you bros.

Quick update guys...

Out of curiosity, I pull out the gearbox vent hose and found the vent hose was clogged up. I have to take a hard wire and poke through the vent to clear the air passage.

You better do the same to clear up the air passage.

cool thanks

Hi, I bought a second hand city in Jan 2020. Whenever I drive past uneven road, I can feel exactly how is the condition of the road. Is it the sign that the shock absorber needs to be replaced? If so, normally how much does it cost?
*
what year? how much you get it? congrats!

also ask for your stabilizer link to be checked. i replaced it and it improve as well. especially getting lesser sway during corner. but it helps with the feel when uneven road.
but as mention by bro thrust, need to set your expectation right.

btw, make sure your tyres are pumped to recommendation. dont pump too much.

hello, I was quoted below for KYB absorbers:
1. Front shock absorbers - RM520
2. Front absorber mounting - RM140
3. Front absorber damper - RM140
4. Rear shock absorbers - RM450
5. Labour - RM280
TOTAL RM1530. If using Honda stock absorbers then it will be about RM2200 with the same thing above but with added linkage too.

Should I go with KYB? Or wait for DTOX Shocktober?
*
These are the price i got from honda stockist, about 2 years back. shared with a bro that pm-ed me. resharing it here.

i kept the record.
front mounting rm45 per piece x 2
absorber stopper front rm45 per piece x 2
damper rm7 per piece x 2

do note that when i change the part, the foreman was saying i was missing two of something. i'm not sure which. stopper or damper. but he said can reuse old one. so maybe when you buy the parts you can ask how many of each you need.

these are genuine honda parts. i bought this from honda genuine parts stockist. except for absorber, which i get from lazada.
as for labour, my neighbourhood workshop charged rm150 (but previous mix up he quoted rm100 coz he thought older city, end up rm150 include helping me to change and bleed the brake fluid i bought outside). while AR Man Auto in Ampang, a honda specialist charge rm250. i end up choosing my neighbourhood workshop.

i remember when i bought the parts, i was researching, it isn't too far more expensive than online 3rd party parts. so end up buying genuine since mine last at least 7 years (could still be in good condition when i replace).
