Hi Guys,

So this happens. I bought the full set of transmission mounts for my honda city tmo as i can see (i check it out myself) that my transmission mount a bit frayed. was planning to change it b4 cny. but once i got to the workshop and they diagnose it. they say yeah its frayed, but its quite normal for people to continue using confused.gif

so now i still have the mounts with me. i bought it just before cny from hingan, the honda stockist. still have the receipt.
let me know if anyone is interested. i will be letting it go with discount.

if i failed to sell them within 2 months. i will just change it maybe 1 year down the road. laugh.gif

something to share....
QUOTE(cempedaklife @ Feb 17 2020, 09:29 AM)
well well well...what do we know. i always wanted to do this but no time. the first time i did it, it was very cursory and quick so not much affect.

so since my car ages, i feel like the wind sound from door panel is getting louder (was thinking its my gut feeling only), especially on highway.

i took some time last weekend to apply AT205 to the rubber seal at the door and the car body (door frame). i let the door open during applying the whole time so to give "space" for the rubber to recover. took it for a drive the next day and wow. sounds a bit different. even when you close the door it feels......rejuvenated, with the squashy sound of rubber protecting your door closing.

thought its my own thinking too much. but drove a bit today. definitely improved for an aged car biggrin.gif

i have about the same situation, sometimes when the car is on heavy load mostly, it will have this sound, from 1st to 2nd or 2nd to 3rd.
it is more prominent (or i started noticing) when i switched to the only time i use 5w40 instead of 5w30. it is also more prominent if i fetch a few persons and the aircon is switched on. which leads to my theory that it happens more often when the car is on heavy load.

at around the same time b4 i notice, i changed atf filter at engine bay, aircon magnetic clutch. there is once as well months before i make the changes, the car just seems to be relunctant to move to 2nd or 3rd. but happen ONCE only.

now the foreman said its because of the magnetic clutch bla bla bla (since its more prominent when i on the aircon while i still on 5w40), saying that i should have changed the whole compressor instead. could be grinding when the clutch engaged. but bear in mind it does happen at times even when the aircon is off.

sharing an update on this. was suppose to update earlier, but believe it or not, i've been busier since MCO started.
and the fact that i didn't test as long as possible the car on the fix before the MCO kicks in.

so a few weeks before MCO i send my car again for normal service. (engine oil change and ATF oil change).
I got the ATF from genuine honda stockist the same time i got the engine mounting (which I have not replaced yet).
the reason why i'm getting ATF from them is going to be reveal below.

and viola..the sound is gone. and remember i did quite a few number of changes last year before the sound start appearing.

before the change recently, i stumble upon shopee during my free time and it suggested me item to look at.
one of the sellers of honda parts was showing the different between packaging between fake and genuine ATF oil (while promoting theirs is genuine, of coz, lol).

and that got me thinking. and tracing back, since i still have one bottle of ATF from previous purchase left. The ATF i had was referred to ask fake ATF.
and that was the only time i bought ATF fluid online doh.gif
all these while i purchase either from neigbourhood spare part shop, or genuine honda stockist.

i remember a few members have similar symptom with mine. please check yours and try to change your ATF fluid.
hope this helps. i'm in love with my car again. icon_rolleyes.gif

Hello,
Can u share a comparison photo between the fake and genuine ?

Its like this. But do note that im not saying this seller sell genuine product, nor what he said is fact, about such packaging if fake product.

But the one I bought online does have such packaging, and the one got from honda genuine spare part is another packaging. And the noise issue did go away after i replace the atf.

Every 20k for ATF fluid
Every 40k for ATF filter

Thats what i heard rom atf fluid as well. it just that oversea standard, from what i heard is way different. like 40k miles, so just wondering.

as for the atf filter, i only change once, around 110k km i think.

If follow Honda SC procedure, TMO ATF replacement should be 60,000KM.

However, I don't think the ATF can last that long.

My suggestion is also to replace the ATF every 20 - 25,000KM. As for the ATF filter, I normally change them every 60,000KM.

thanks for the feedback. appreciate it. alot. its good to hear real life experience/feedback.

There is rationale on why we replace every 20,000km.

By right if we follow the 60,000km replacement schedule, the proper way is to perform a 3 times drain and refill method to get 90% of the old fluid out.

Since the above method is quite hassle as you need to do the procedure 3 times, it is better off replacing the fluid every 20,000km each time to keep the fluid fresh and gearbox healthy.
*
i know every time we replace the fluid, most of the fluid is still in there.
but after reading your post, it makes it more clear too.
couple with the fact that i have replaced with "fake" fluid previously, i will continue with the 20k/1 year or so fluid replacement.

Nice seeing this car is still getting loved by many here. Im into my 9th year, and i intend to keep it as long as it doesn't have any major issue, in the future, either as 2nd car or ship back to my hometown for my bro.

Actually I bought the original rear Showa shocks from Hingan before. It only cost about RM110 / piece. But it is just the shocks without other items like mounting, bushes, sleeves.

Normally people will reuse the old items but just replace the absorbers.
*
Really that cheap? For showa. I shoud have quoted direct from honda stockist like hingan. Previously i quoted from honda specialist workshop genuine like 2k plus with all the bushes and stuff. I remember the absorbers were quite pricey.

I end up buying shokz by apm when they have promo on lazada on 11.11 and a fellow forummer reviewed it.

Yes. It is that cheap but that pricing was like 5 years ago. Rear showa shocks was rm110 / piece. Front was arond rm220 / piece. This pricing is only for the absorbers without other stuff.

Considering APM or KYB came in a whole set, they are much cheaper compared to Showa.

I somehow felt Showa shocks are too soft. if you go through a deep pot hole, you will get a loud 'THANG!!' on your car.

Harder shocks are less susceptible to that but the overall ride will be bumpier.
*
Ohh. If front rm220 then yeah makes sense.
Used to not being able to clear the bump at my neighbour aeon, even when its news. Now with this new shocks, can ady. Lol.

By the way anyone has this sound like spring on your bed (actually i think its more metal to metal but the sound like spring) at underneath your driving seat while you are sitting on it? It started having this sound lately on and off. Maybe need to tighten a screw or two or spray wd40 just dont know where . Havent have time and bother to find the source yet. Lol.
