I know it has been years back for you, but any chances you still have the purchase link or physical store seller of those mounting, stopper and damper?
*
its physical. any honda genuine specialist should have it.
i think i got it from Capital Genuine Parts Co., Ltd.

Hingan is another popular one. Its quite huge and supply to quite a number of workshop. I saw their trucks most of the time.
Its just that I dont like the attitude of the worker that served me the only time i'm there.

But, their FB chat is pretty responsive, you can ask the price there. If you dont like calling up any store.

Hingan ok ma... I went there many times and they can get what I want.  biggrin.gif
*
can...and i like their fb messenger also..any parts and price can ask. no keep pushing sales as well.
just that. i dont like the guy that serve me la. others i see okay.

that guy, after i tell him what i need, just nod his head. and didnt tell me update me anything, and do other stuffs. i wait quite a while and was parking roadside illegally.
i'm not against the shop. but dislike that staff laugh.gif

i have no qualm to go again, but other places also suits me.

but its weird, sometimes. they say ori no more, got aftermarket ones. i didnt know they can carry aftermarket one when they are genuine parts supplier.
but they will tell you upfront, not cheat you.

*
Whats fuel retainer? But strainer, want ori, better get from honda genuine stockist, quite a few in kl. About rm250-300

Thanks for the advice..actually the oem price is very differ than the SC, thats make me curious too..very cheap..
*
The strainer less than rm300 only. And you change like maybe once only, during your car half life time you drive it. Unless you want to change again before you sell. Or you drive longer than 12-15 years, which is a good thing and cost averaged down over the long years you own it.

But the labor is pretty high. About less than rm200 also. This is out of SC. Better get honda specialist to do.

You use this part for a long time. I would rather get ori. Getting it from genuine honda parts shop and getting it down at outside workshop is much more cheaper than official sc. The part alone you would have saved comparedvto official sc

Haven't tried before but as long as its a new carbon filter, it is always a good thing to have it in your car.

You just need to make sure it is compatible with your City 2005.
*
Not sure what area of advice you are seeking.

If compatability, i always only buy when it specifically say honda city the range within my year. Later buy not compatible, troublesome. Futhermore, its not like its way cheaper, the price is somewhere thereabout. Better find one that specifically say compatible to your year.

If price, like said, somewhere thereabout.

If you ask good or not, nowhere to know, even with reviews. Either you get ori from honda which much more expensive definitely, or you get branded like bosch, which is expensive plus you never know if its really bosch, or you get cheap on like this. Me? I will buy like these but diligently change every year. Its cheap anyway.

guys.

just checking, hows the condition of your head lamp cover?
because i saw many cars (different brand different model) have very poor condition head lamp cover. hazy, yellowish, burned, etc.

i have the privilege of parking in shade in both my home and office. only about half a year i parked outside during work. never change lamp to aftermarket.

my lamp is...quite still ok. wondering how's yours?

but occasionally after the car wash will get turtlewax headlight cleaner and sealant to polished off the lens cover
*
for the past year or so. i started to apply wax to the headlamp as well. just a cursory wipe after i wax my car.
idea is not to let the clearcoat layer erode off. i just got to know about the clear coat last year or so.
wondering if i should do more.

Hi, anyone can recommend any good engine air filter for me?(Shopee or Lazada) It is safe to replace ourselves right?
*
definitely can replace yourself. learn it up.
think of it this way. this car might not last a long time but you still have 30-40 years of driving (depends how old you are). the amount of saving and knowledge is totally worth it.

if worry about part, get from honda genuine part stockist first if need it quick. then start researching online who sell what good product.

remember you also have a cabin air filter.

for me. i am using works engineering mesh air filter. the K&N oil cleaner can still last 2-3 times maybe. so i dont need to buy and replace yearly or so.
but. i dont recommend you this over the normal one or vice versa.

This City TMO can really last a very long time if you take good care of it  biggrin.gif

I've saw some owners posted in FB that they've basically traveled more than 600,000 km on this vehicle. Imagine the durability and reliability.

For Works air filter, technically the filtration is not as good as paper type. You might need to clean the throttle body a bit more often.
*
i have throttle body clean once at around 110k km i think. thats about it. rpm pretty stable. it start idle hunting around that time hence i did the cleaning.
yeah. heard as well about the filter. but already bought years ago so just continue using until my cleaner kits used up. then decide how. i think most likely wont buy another cleaner kit.
the cost of it could well be the same with paper filter for 5-6 years lol.

thats why i dont recommend or not recommend to people. it depends on your own judgement.
to mitigate, i clean it quite often, around 5k km or half year once.

when i say about life time. i dont mean the care. it could be any owner get bored and sell it and get another car.
but simple knowledge about car is about the same with different models.

so thats why better to know about car yourself. laugh.gif

*
where you stay? in kl there is a number of stockist.
get familiarize with honda genuine stockist.
you need it anyway for some big item in the future.

then perhaps get it from them first.
for cabin filter i don't care much la..just get it online.
but for engine, better be a bit safer if you can help it.

at least that's what i think.

Finally remember what I want to ask here.

All these while, i keep lurking in tyre segment without thinking to ask here.

Currently on xm2 tyres. This is my 2nd set using maybe about 2 years. First set is also xm2, before that stock goodyear.

Im comfy with its drive in rain and durability, but it can be noisy after 2 years. And comfortable wise, not too sure.

What tyres are you guys using?
Any recommendations?
Previously wanted to try yokohama bluearth es32 but unsure about its drive in rain. End up stick with xm2

Anybody here ever replace lower arm and stabilizer link or steering rack?
What is the problem symptom regarding all of it?
Because i always sensed my car handling too light recently.
But when i ask foreman to check, they told everything just fine.
Any suggestion to improve the handling? I want to install URB but many agreed the benefit not very significant when compare to the cost..
*
For stabilizer link, i feel the car sway more during cornering. After replace drive on corner become smoother.

You may try on Continental UC6
Quiet n kinda ok rolling resistance
*
QUOTE(Thrust @ Sep 20 2020, 09:00 AM)
Previously I was also using XM2 to replace the hard and noisy Goodyear Excellence tyres that came stock.

The XM2 was great for the first 1 year+. After that, it is noisy and hard as hell.

I swapped it even if there's still 50% thread life left for Continental CC6.

Ride quality improved tremendously. It is also much quieter in the cabin.

The only downside is, the grip is not as good in the wet. Also, because this tyre is classified as soft and comfy tyre, it can puncture quite easily if something hard hit the sidewall.

If you prefer soft and comfy tyre, you can opt for the CC6. However, if you want something harder and slightly better grip, you may also try to Ultracontact (UC) 6 (They have it in 185/55/16). My next set will be UC6.

I normally don't recommend users to use Michelin because to me, I feel that it is expensive and doesn't really justify it's performance. Michelin is more expensive probably because of the marketing cost they spent to promote the their tyres.
*
Thanks both. I am on 175/65/15, standard spec. I don't think UC6 have this size?

I considered CC6 before but what you said is exactly what others said. They are not confident with it in wet roads.

Having said that though, i dont think i have any particular problem with stock goodyear on wet road. Hmmm. Though my driving pattern on wet road might have been pampered by xm2 over the years and i take this for granted. May have to adjust if i consider changing to other tyres.

It kicks in like every 8 seconds. Or it only happens when the temperature is high? And when it cools down it won't happen very frequent?
*
Check out this thread: https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/5027843

to share.
when my car was 7 and half years. my aircon sometimes not cold. maybe once every few months, then it start to be like weekly once.
then i start reading up the internet, asking here, learned that ours have magnetic clutch.

at this time, i start to pay attention to the behavior. it is like you said. one off one off. the clutch engage disengage quite frequently. but most of the time my aircon is still ice cold. and i always turn the knob to "1" and max wind only. unless some one sitting behind then i turn to "2".

so when it start to get warm again. i go and check, true enuf, the clutch does not engage for a long time.
when to an aircon shop and tell them what i found, and one of the diagnostic i saw online is that when clutch does not engage, knock it hard with something, it will engage. and that is the symptom that the magnetic clutch is weak. told the foreman i did it but no luck. he look at it awhile and show me. when he knock, it really does engage. probably i didnt knock hard enuf.

replaced it. and again after that for serveral weeks i take notice about the behavior. same temperature, same behavior from me. but the clutch stay engaged for a long time until i malas wait longer, probably 2-3 minutes. i end up malas monitor.

i can only share what i have experienced. i cant tell if your clutch is really beginning to be weak.
you probably can search for my post here.
