assuming u have installed from zip file, try these steps:

system->settings->addons->get addons
see if "superrepo all" is one of the many inside listed as enabled.
if not, you need to enable it.
then go to videos->addons to check if it is already enabled or not.

but... as i recently pointed out about football today and kissanime (possibly more). the addons appear ready to enable but somehow they don't, can't get them when u click install. this, i am still wondering why. it only happens if u install xbmc new now. i have another one running a not so recent installed xbmc, both kissanime and football today are working, no problem.

hi sifusss,

I'm facing a major problem with xbmc. First of all, I have a Himedia q5 ii with updated firmware of 1.0.6 chinese version.

After re-installing the xbmc 12.3 Frodo and setting up add-ons (Icefilms & Mashup), everytime when I play a movie xbmc exits regularly at approximately 20mins. What is wrong?

And also playing 720p movies is lagging even with a 5MB Unifi service.

Please advise.
*
the problem u face is common is due to himedia, not xbmc. better ask in himedia threads.

i tried to help but u no reply to post 378, so i tot u solved everything...

any other solutions? thanks
also where to watch for disney movie? thanks again

i am not sure if yr list of drivingmule, superepo and mash2k3 is missing something...

when i get a problem like that, i tend to install a few more from zip.

trial and error. later can disable those u really duwan. this is one major frustration of xbmc - u dunno or can't remember what is where!

my list has these additional; u can try them and see if u will then find what u r looking for:

xunity talk repo
anarchintosh
bstrsmkr
istream xbmc addons
thehighway xbmc addons

disney... cartoons, animation, anime are usually lumped together. kissanime, anime highway, cartoon world, cartood hd shoud have lots of disney stuff.

no....

only mashup of the big 4 can show up at the skin becos it is like an addon once u unzip the main file.

fusion, xfinity n super repo are zips, u unzip some of the files inside one by one, then enable the addons one by one.

e.g 1channel is from fusion, can put in the skin if u wish. istream is from the one in xfinity, can put in skin also.

for noobs, xbmc can be confusing, I understand.... Which is why astro still got biz... tongue.gif

xbmc is not plug n play, need a lot of work to understand and get it to work.
I must have installed and reinstalled half a dozen tImes 12.2, 12.3, ,Gotham beta....!!

tis is wat I hv said a few times here...

no idea why but if u install xbmc new now, kissanime, football today and many others dun work or can't enable.

if installed many weeks ago, they still work.

no matter 12.2 or 12.3, same result.

need xbmc expert to explain....

hallo i wanna ask for some help, i have added the fusion but when i got to system when install from zip, i dont see fusion on the right hand side as what most you tube shows. please help
*
in this case, i think fusion was not dwnlded properly. do it again.

in my experience, this can happen if yr broadband speed is unstable or too weak.
QUOTE(sonyman @ Apr 1 2014, 05:41 PM)
ok noob question again, if i have previous version of XBMC installed on the media player, i need to uninstall it first is it?

only then i can install the downloaded frodo version

that will be best.

anyone know if theres old chinese drama with english subs airing on somewhere add-ons? like witness to a prosecution 1 n 2,apa ntah zhong kui

also would like to ask old tv series there, spellbinder
*
xbmc is not a good place for chinese stuff. little korean, japanese, russian, brazilian or iranian stuff for that matter. mostly usa and uk linked stuff.

anyway, "old chinese drama with english subs" is hard to find whether online streaming or torrenting. old chinese drama w/o subs or w/chinese subs easier to get.

chinese stuff, u need to get to the right places where there are tonnes of them. this, i think can only be done via certain vpn's with paid subscription or free access from built in firmware of certain machines u buy.

everyone needs to make some money, so no free 1-1000, a-z, hd... all the time, everytime.... laugh.gif

thank you, btw how do you add azdrama onto the XBMC, need to add source? or this one is a little different
*
azdrama can be obtained from superrepo or one of those "asian" repos in fusion.

i have to say it is not good, very limited.

btw, you mentioned u are using media player. it will help some of us to comment better if u tell if it is android or wd or veolo or modeo or tablet or watever.

becos xbmc behave a little differently for windows, androids, ios devices, etc... assuming u have installed the right one.

smart tvs are just internet connectible giving u browser and maybe youtube, i believe, little else. an android box will do a lot more.
current android is 4.3, 4.2 will do. 2.2 is obsolete, no?
46"tv... probably more like 2.5-3k. 40-42 can get <2k, i think.

i agree with root that if u hv the budget and time, htpc will work very well, esp for xbmc and browser based streaming.

however, if u want a bit of chinese, a bit of korean, a bit of sports, a bit of natgeo/discovery, a bit of cnn/bloomberg, some live, some on demand, it's hard to get a box that does all of that well. more so if looking for hd. my only suggestion is u read all the threads/posts of people selling diff kinds of boxes and sticks, some tied to paid subscriptions. then make the best sense out of them see if the choice will suit u as everyone has diff tastes and wants. i can count there r at least 6 brands of androidtv boxes for sale in lyn. do not forget as firmware upgrades come along, u need the support and service too.

xbmc is free and good overall for a variety of stuff. esp good for hollywood movies and tv series on demand. not so good for live tv, poor in asian content.

in addition, a lot has to do with broadband speed and stability. i doubt one can stream too much smoothly in hd on say 2-3mbps speed.

one thing i keep in mind... as people dump terrestrial, cable, satellite tv, even torrenting to go for iptv/online streaming, the traffic will grow, more incentive for gomens and enterprises to block the free ones and charge for them. so, perhaps can expect certain legally forced changes in the near future.

for hd movies, i usually go to icefilms->720p hd.
or mashup->hd movies, pick icefilms, dailyflix or yiffy.
47 ronin is 720 hd in all of these, i remember checking them.
i just checked mashup-yiffy, monkey king 2014 is already there, 720 aac2.0.

1080, 720 dd5.1, 720 dts5.1 are rare in xbmc.
most common hd is 720 aac2.0 which is ok for direct tv audio.
for blockbusters, i will want to watch in 1080p dts/dtshdma with home theater.

i still can't get kissanime back but no loss. cartoon hd is also good, has a great well organized and maintained library, all of it work.

Running XBMC Frodo 12.3 on 2 laptops.

1st one - Dell Inspiron N4110

2.3GHz Core i5
4GB RAM
64 bit Windows 7
Radeon HD 6630M

2nd one - Asus laptop

Intel Celeron CPU 847 1.1ghz
2gb RAM
Windows 8
Intel HD graphics

Subscribed to Unifi 5mbps in January, so far the number of times I have experienced lag is negligible. I even tried streaming 1080p movie while downloading a file capped at 200 KB/s.  brows.gif Ironically, the most lag I have experienced is when trying to watch The Simpsons in SD, lol. But switched to different server (MBox) and no problems now. I guess it really depends on the server and maybe how much TM likes you, haha. I think you should just increase the cache size. If you have no choice but to use a slow server, you can rely on that cache.

Sorry took so long to reply, was busy messing around with Tor.

No idea bout Xunity, not using it.
*
tq for response.

it is good to know wat u can do with 5mbps on PC.laptop.notebooks.htpc vs androids, appletvs, tablets...

i also think a lot has to do with the sites u r accessing, makes sense.

which is why one has to be clear wat u want.... live tv or vod, Hollywood stuff, asian stuff, uk stuff, china stuff, sports, rtm stuff...

i doubt there is one machine fits all.... Esp when we try not to pay, like we pay assteruk. tongue.gif

hi guys.. i hav a windows PC upstairs which is connected to my network (Unifi - 5mbps) via Wifi... it seems that while playing XBMC is kinda slow... is there anyway to tweak XBMC in terms on connection speed or something???

my other windows PCs connecting via LAN have no problem playing XBMC...
*
think someone mentioned before that xbmc tends to hog bandwith.

yr 5mbps possibly reaching limit when 2-3 devices in use at same time.

on my 10mbps, 2 androids on xbmc/other streaming, 1pc dwnloading and 1 ipad in use still ok. assuming unifi stable.

for xbmc, u shoud take a look at this - xbmc android supported devices.

NOTICE:
It is highly recommended for users to not make any purchases in anticipation of running XBMC on Android without researching the device you want to buy. If you do buy, make sure multiple people can verify that it works! If in doubt, don't buy that box!
another thing to be careful is service and support.

lastly, why android and not htpc, ouya, iso devices? they also can do xbmc...

in another related thread, fellow forummer ctvtec spoke of buzzy sports in mashup.

thanks to him. just for the record, and if u hv not tried, check out:

xbmc->mashup->live streams->buzzy sports->buzzy channels

there are some good live tv channels there, incl skysports f1, skysports 1-4, foodnetwork asia, travel channel.

most of them work. sd but very watchable unless yr tv is very big.

i see... i really dun know... htpc (or their little bros) need customization, maybe can't get a ready made one...?

just that i have many years with pcs, notebooks, ipads and media players... decided to go for androids to learn something new.

androids on the other hand are common... a dozen brands available, if u haven't noticed. price, support, extras, etc... can check the individual threads.... shouldn't discuss here...

yr comments say u definitely want to get yr hands on xbmc! biggrin.gif

most convenient for tv shows and non-blockbuster movies.

with it, u cut yr sparrows by 1/2 at least.

i watched 13 sins, snowpiercer and the machine recently. shows like these are ok to watch and forget, but not worth extra efffort.
