i have actually tried them one way or another - xbmctorrent, kmediatorrent, pulsar, quasar, rarbg viewer, etc.

they all work the same way - torrenting the packets in the right sequence, playback as soon as the buffer reaches a sufficient level.

so far, i believe:

.. this method works good on pc/htpc.
.. it does not work well on androids because if the path is set to the sdcard, it'll take up 3, 5, 8gb in no time (yr system may crash); it does not work if the path is set to ext hdd - something to do with usb i/o speed or transfer protocol restrictions. the same thing is seen in popcorntime which works on the same principle.
.. quasar is designed to work on androids where pulsar doesn't. still, i failed to get it working properly on my android. anyone who has successfully done that on android with path set to ext hdd, please share!
.. still, i managed to view a couple of 720p and 1080p videos on my box that way - they are actually the same files as when u do utorrent incl dd/dts audio; only that the playback somehow isn't as smooth, a little jerky.

i will try again but at this time, i still prefer to do the torrents the conventional way, esp when it is 15gb or 35gb.

HDD cloner ~ RM100 @lazada, it works like NAS. Dump all your HDD 3.5", 2.5", IDE, SATA SSD USB drive SD from camera etc

Set the path to one of the HDD.

Install sambadroid pro on the android box, all your files can be accessed everywhere, tablet, phone, mac, notebook etc

Quasar gives you different experience compare to xbmctorrent, coz the thumbnail and cover album are available.

Below screenshots are from my vanilla kodi (not superbox)

You can choose which link you want to stream by press and hold the link.

There is setting under addon config you can filter out anything less than 720p or 1080p, so TS/HDcam link will not be displayed

Quasar integrates with opensubtitle for convinience

And it's kida legal coz the creator didn't include the torrent sites (PROVIDERS) in the addon, you have to install separately.

install this under PROGRAM, i only need kickass so i install only one

Thanks for this.. Reminds me of Pulsar, being a fork, it's no surprise.. How about playback or bugs.. Smooth?

thanks to you, i have successfully got quasar working - on the androidbox as well as on the smart tv.

since there is >7gb available on either device, and my speed is only so much, i will not attempt do more than 1080p hdtv, 1080p webrips and 1080p hdrips. i just set the paths to the sdcards, the files get erased upon exit.

a couple of things to check with you:

.. do u get small jerks with the videos, i.e. not as smooth as compared to playback with a saved file via usb?

.. why do i need to reset the path every time i exit and re-enter in order to clear the "quasar cache"... is there a shortcut or am i missing something?
*
1. i installed quasar on my phone, my macbook and android box, of coz on the mac will be flawless perhaps due to ssd and airplay (stereo)
to be honest i do get small jerk on the android box perhaps due to so many things running in the background, my mail, sambadroid, lazada, 11street, miracast and whatapps too.

2. i dont need to reset the path, i set it once and it's there even after i pull out the plug. have you tried to connect with portable hd and set the path there. Could be space issue there.

The current OS from Raspberry Pi (OSMC). I think I've tried to partition the drive using window disk partition tools, and not sure why it can't be partitioned.

If getting the OpenELEC mean that I'll need to reformat my current drive.

Let me snap the picture of the current storage info.

I remember that OSMC automatically creates a folder like 30Gb when i tried last time with my Pi2 + 32Gb microSD + OSMC.
