I'm curious if subscribing to HD pack is better or just get a Astro? HD Pack RM125 per year, Astro Pack RM56 per month.

If you want it to be worthwhile, go with Astro.
If you simply just want to pay less, go with NJOI.

After a long, long consideration, finally I’ve subscribed to NJOI as of today. Simply because it’s non-contractual, and I don’t want any fancy functionalities like the Ultra Box does. Just turn on the dull HD Zapper box and voila; straight to the TV channel I left before standby mode.

For on-the-go viewing, I got sooka app too; even though it only offers live streaming of Korean shows & sporting events, as well as limited on-demand programs. It’s basically NJOI Now 2.0.

But here’s a catch:

I’ve purchased the HD Pack’s 30-day access of RM15 as a requirement. Then I’ve add-on 3 other packs namely Sports Mega (RM70), Kombolicious (RM50), & Popcorn (RM40) Packs. The grand total of all three add-ons is RM160. Of course the prices will subject to change in near future.

Bear in mind that all three add-ons mentioned are already include complimentary HD Pack channels, and they’re all 30-day viewing validity too. Shouldn’t it be subtracted RM15 each from its initial prices? I could save RM45 to RM115 instead.

I think you don't need to subscribe to HD Pack if you subscribe to any of the starter packs (Kids Pack, Kombolicious, Popcorn, Sports Mega, Serbaneka) as these packs includes HD pack by default. You still pay RM160 though but there is no need to add on HD pack as these packs already included these by default.

A HD pack or any of the starter packs is only necessary if you subscribe to any channels/add on packs.

The PL Pack should be reinstated since the football tournament resumed after the World Cup hiatus. Currently, the pack is still not available in the add-on pack listing on the NJOI website, Ch 200, and My NJOI app.

So NatGeo Wild, Tadaa & Boomerang no longer available on ala-carte, only available in bundle(s)

These channels will cease transmission on 1 February 2023.

Ala-carte purchases of the 3 channels are now unavailable as those channels will cease in 15 days to Feb 1, 2023. Agak rugi for those who subscribed to a 30-day access days earlier prior to the new channels announcement, but only watchable for less than 30 days.

As usual, the new channels will come later for NJOI customers, it’s a matter of when.

eGG Network cease transmission on 23 January 2023.

Astro Arena is the new home of eGG Network starting today, Jan 23, 2023.

UPDATE: Love Nature (Ch 550), DreamWorks Channel (Ch 612), and CBeebies (Ch 620) will be available as replacements for Nat Geo WILD, TA-DAA!, and Boomerang (Ch 619) from Feb 1, 2023, at 12:00 am. CBeebies is the only BBC channel available on NJOI.
