As an existing customers, should I purchase HD Pack?

The correct question suppose to be:
What's stopping you from subscribing to the NJOI HD pack?

I would like to purchase HD Pack, but I am existing customers. So I need some suggestion about I need purchase HD Pack or not (I would like to watch BWF World Championships on Astro Arena, although CH 831 still available but 831 is SD quality)

Please maintain SD forever. I missed TV1 and TV2 already but I am still having 321, 344, 346, 375.

They didn't confirm the currrent one would be permenant, they already testing the SD version of both channels.

Ya, hopefully SD to be maintained and bring back TV1 and TV2 to SD so that I can watch TV2 Mandarin News and Cartoon for Kids. Can't find cartoon at other channel.

Qash-MBecause of such laggards out there still exists, now it is clear and obvious to you on why Astro still the using old MPEG2 video codec for its SD channels, and also DVB-S modulation on 11062MHz transponder, all for the sake of legacy compatibility for legacy Astro boxes.

Complaining that Astro still uses MPEG2 for its SD channels which has poor SD quality, rather than them using MPEG4/H.264 for SD channels is pointless if there are people who still "support" the remaining few minorities out there that refuses to upgrade to newer boxes. Because...

"My legacy Astro still works fine mah, why bother upgrading? 🤷"
"I love my legacy Astro box, and I'll refuse to upgrade to newer boxes even if Astro offers free upgrade."
"Newer Astro boxes are 'hard to use'."
"If my legacy box stops working someday, I'll just stop watching Astro for good."

In a nutshell, they just synchronise the existing EPG data from Astro website into the My NJOI app.

New update:

From 13 October, 12am, Astro customers on Indian Favourites and Maharaja Packs can enjoy three new top Tamil channels, Sun News (Ch 215), KTV (Ch 216) and Sun Life (Ch 217) on TV and Astro GO, offering more popular Indian shows such as hit movies, comedy clips from films as well as news, sports, politics updates, music shows, and more. These new channels will replace Chutti TV (Ch 213) which will no longer be available on 13 October, 12am. Thank you for your support.

Sun News (Ch 215), KTV (Ch 216) and Sun Life (Ch 217) will be available on NJOI from 20 October, 6am.

Can the old smart card be used with the new box? My old box is dead after I renewed the HD package for 1 year on old card.

Im not sure but i dont think it will. Njoi has its own card.

Ya, the new box comes with new smart card. My newly purchased package is stuck in old NJOI smart card . Approached their CS and they need to investigate and come back on the request.
