park the bus is like west ham, with no intention to attack.

but today game was different, we do a lot of attacking, few times hit a post.

we are totally lack of set piece taker, really miss mata on this. corner, free kick.. sigh

A lot of player worth mentioning today.

Cech, Cahill, Azpi, Matic, Willian, Eden.

Superb team performance, especially since we weren't prolific at all in front of goal.

Btw, for the Chelsea twin towers as mentioned by a fellow forumer here thumbup.gif

what a great win for us. very crucial especially in this second half of the season.

i really agree with someone who said matic is a direct upgrade of mikel few weeks back. damn, the guy is so good. big in stature and very calm and solid when doing his job during defensive play. the upgraded part? this guy have no hesitation to make a killer pass and know when to go up and provide support and when to stay down. totally admire his performance against a very very attacking side. if matic is given more licence to roam, he will definitely be the next ballack. a midfield general!

cahill is a wall as well tonight. he started the game looking a bit shaky but regained his composure. willian surprisingly look very commanding in his role as our #10. ramires is let down during attacking but his defensive job is top notch.

End to end stuff this morning. However, the first 10-15 mins, I was thinking....oh no....looks like we might kena bash by how Citeh is playing. But as the game progresses, the confident is coming......and by end of 1st half....we were quite comfortable with the lead from Iva!

Gooners might be happy we did them a favor.....but I saw no favor, I only see an opportunity to be on top of them come this weekend.

On one occasion where hazat trackback..the commentator said this is the part where mata cannot give in mou's game

And during the highlight of the game, they show silva didnt track back to his position which caused iva to be very free on the right. (then booomm goal) Abbas also mentioned how far demichelis was on the other part of the field.

Now i understand why Mou really put the emphasis on this thing.

Already started, that is why 4-2-3-1 is so popular now, Lone striker and 2 more lightning fast wing or midfielder ready to counter attack after the "defender(everyone included)" manage to slick the ball out, look at Willian and Ramires work rate, Hazard too, "21st century football" we need 90 minute match non stop runner biggrin.gif

To be fair, with the amount of goals city score at etihad, can't blame!e them I'm suggesting that we will go for a draw. Even myself thought a point is more than good enough. Glad that mou prove me wrong yet again.

Next match against Newcastle at home. Another tricky fixture. Expect a win though with the absent of Remy and cabaye.

Matic MOTM

What a revelation he has been. Countless time in the match when matic gets the ball, in my head I imagine what would Mikel do in the same situation, and it's always completely different. Interceptions, clearances and marking, defensively he got it. And when he gets the ball, he either pings the ball forward or even carries the ball himself when required. I'm trying not to get carried away with him just after couple of matches, but the difference in playing mindset makes a vast improvement on the team performance.

From the beginning of the season, Mourinho has been checking off areas that need improvement/fixing. All has been going according to plan so far. Just need few more fixes. After that, like the man himself said, we would be looking forward to win (defend tongue.gif) the title next season.

Abit off topic: just knew that RDM use special video to inspire players before the UCL final vs bayern last time.
Some of the players did cry..video includes footage of families and their success.

Same like what guardiola did for his barca.

Nice. I always wish our local coach (malaysia) use this kind of "games" to inspire players

Yes mates. That team is the best in europe at the moment. Even bayern lost at home against them and they play wonderful football too. Not hoofing long ball and park the bus tactic. No doubt they will win the league u here it first.

Juz watched the highlight. We were playing very well. Mou got it right tactically 100%. Matic was superb. All 3 chances against the bar and post shud've gone in. Man City was lucky not to concede more imho. Cech in god mode, superbly saved Silva's freekick and Jovetic's curling effort. Courtois, i'm so sorry boy. U gotta spend few more seasons on loan.

This win will really bolster our confidence. Lets just see if Arsenal and Man City drop any points, we will be right there to pounce on them. Come on you blues!

Luiz is doing very well in pivot imho. So i think next season it'll be Cahill, Terry, Zouma and Kalas at CB position. For pivot it'll be Luiz, Matic, Mvg, Lamps, Mikel and Ram. A bit crowded imo. Maybe Ram will be played on the right. Mikel to be sold? hmm.gif

Laudrup axeby Swansea. Can't say didn't see that coming. Lost key players through injury really hurt them. Should have not loan ki to Sunderland as they lost dynamic in midfield this season.

Has been watching Costa play lately for atletico. He is really an all rounder. The thing that differs him with Lukaku is that Costa knows how to defend and track back. I think Mou will give the green light to sign him. But the question is, will Courtois be part of the deal?

To be honest theres 2 sides to Courtois. To be honest I'd rather we keep Courtois, even if it means having to let Costa go. Brilliant goalkeepers are hard to come by. There is a lot of great finishers that can be alternatives to Costa.

Cech has been a great servant for us but he is aging and has shown some signs of cracks. The good thing about Cech is that despite the cracks he is still very reliable and will be loyal to CFC till the end. Can't really guarantee that with Courtois.

Still not giving up my dream of seeing Falcao in a blue shirt tongue.gif

I like the dynamic of the team as it is now. Big signings will always have the risk of throwing the dynamic of the team off. The pressure of making the new signing a success inevitably exist in the manager, teammates and the new player himself.

Next season I'm looking at Lukaku. That kid is definitely good enough. First choice or second I don't mind. For next season, either

1.Lukaku
2.Torres
3.Bamford

OR

1.Costa?
2.Lukaku
3.Bamford

I doubt Torres will stay if someone like Costa comes, maybe can give him back to Atletico tongue.gif?

3.

if we pick lukaku and bamford, both same age and young.i afraid later one of them are not satisfied because not have enough time to play.

costa can be our main striker next season and lukaku can be our super sub for costa.he can play against smaller club.3 years later costa will be 28 and lukaku can be given more time to play

i dunno who to pick as third choice.to me 2 striker is enough

Good point, it would be unfair to one of them. We need 3 strikers in the squad, but realistically one of them won't get much game time, almost like 2nd GK.

Either we use our reserve youth player as 3rd striker, or get someone on free transfer.

What about Demba for the third striker? I assume Eto'o and Torres will make way for Costa and Lukaku ( If Costa does make the swap to SB ). Now looking back I think I rather keep Bamford on loan and continue his development. hmm.gif

We also have Lucas Piazon. Future's looking bright for us with the abundance of talent we have smile.gif

Eto will leave, so does Ba.

I would like our trio to be
1) Costa
2) Lukaku
3) Torres

Bamford not chosen coz for me he is not that complete yet. Has yet to prove himself on the level of the PL. Lukaku has proven his worth in West Brom and Everton. Torres will not be sold bcoz Costa will take time to adjust to the PL. Piazon not chosen as striker bcoz i c him more as a winger or amf. tongue.gif

Costa would fit into the team quite well. With our already sizable Brazilian contingent, he should have no problem with communication.

Whether or not he'll measure up in the PL, we wont know yet.

Piazon isn't a true striker, but having him as the 3rd option would be a good idea because he can get playing time in other position. He can play any of the four attacking positions.

Quite good in dribbling, passing, vission, pace and free kick.

sorry to break the wishful thinking i think bamford is a talent but a grade B talent....somewhere along the level of borini....would be outstanding at italian league or smaller team in spanish league but dont think hell cut it in the epl...

from the looks of thing...i kinda sense jose dont really rate lukaku... dont be suprise if we sold him next season...

piazon....again my thought same with bamford...super talent but prolly wont cut it with epl level...he'll do exceptionally well in an italian or spanish league though....

sorry to break the wishful thinking i think bamford is a talent but a grade B talent....somewhere along the level of borini....would be outstanding at italian league or smaller team in spanish league but dont think hell cut it in the epl...

from the looks of thing...i kinda sense jose dont really rate lukaku... dont be suprise if we sold him next season...

piazon....again my thought same with bamford...super talent but prolly wont cut it with epl level...he'll do exceptionally well in an italian or spanish league though....
*
Bamford is yet to taste EPL experience so it's abit too early to judge. Make or break, it's really depending on how hardworking he is in training.

Lukaku and Piazon were bought by previous manager so it's normal for the current manager to exclude them in temporary basis. Lukaku has already proven himself to be a quality striker in Everton and it'd be a stupid move for Mourinho to sell him away.

Matic as Ballack? I for one sees Petit in him. brows.gif Accurate sharp passing skills, read games and player movement from time to time. wub.gif

I rate piazon very high.
paizon will more talented than kdb.
I sense lukaku will be staying.
as for bamford he yet to be tested on epl not much can be say on him but I think he can reach sturridge level.

I think Mourinho will sell Lukaku but only for the right price. With Mata, you can see that he isn't afraid of getting rid of talent that wouldn't fit into his mold. Not that I'm implying Lukaku wouldnt, but you can tell Mourinho has been eyeing up the likes of Costa, Falcao or Cavani for that coveted number 9 position

Clearly you didnt read what I wrote. I didnt say he was. I said he might not thts all. Everything in football is uncertain.

If Costa does arrive Lukaku wouldnt want to sit on the bench would he? Its why he left for Everton in the first place

I cant tell if mou eyeing for costa, cavini, or falcao.
but I can tell it all was rumors. laugh.gif
Anyway 1 of the main reason y I think lukaku will stay.
It is very rare to have young and proven goal scorer.
so if mou plans for long term I believe lukaku will stay.

Everyone talking about our potential strike force for next season, why not switch the focus back to our 50 million man, he's back in training, yup Torres is back in training.... tongue.gif

Well hopefully LUKAKU and COURTOIS will be back next term and get a chance in the team, it will be very sad if we sold them without given them a chance to even play for us.

Regardless COSTA coming or not LUKAKU will definitely stay, he will fight it out with TORRES for the 2nd striker role, i doubt he will do worse than TORRES. Same for COURTOIS, u want the no.1 shirt ? come in and show us u can dislocate CECH, if he expect CHELSEA to sell CECH and install him automatically as replacement then pls sell him to whoever that offer most money. Just like KDB and MATA, tried and tested, no good then sell.

To be honest, I am VERY comfortable with Eto'o. I rate him the highest among our 3 strikers. His runs are very sharp, which helps us in counter attack.
When Eto is not playing, our players always make some horizontal runs which slows down the play. *Ehem, torres.*

It would be sad if Eto leave us. I read from somewhere that Hazard said Eto'o motivated him before the United match. Professionals like Eto can really help youngsters to develop.

Oh anyway, read this.

Ya agree, scoring or not ETO movement helps the team a lot by making space for the AMs to exploit. He is my first choice striker too among the 3 but still his goal tally was not enuff that means we will have to look for better option next season.

kesian him dont even get proper chance to show his worth by mou, with etoo firing blank in the last few matches, i see no harm in starting with ba.

Seriously, until now, ppl still brand us as 'Park the Bus'. I just can't brain it.

If they label us with it during Mou's first time in charge, I still can understand. During that time, our defence is mean, foundation is build on solid defence and winning 1-0. But now, our playing style is physical in the middle (Matic, Cahill) and fast attacking (Hazard, Ram, Willian, Eto). Our playing style now is to soak up the opposition's attack and hit them in the break with our speedy players. Something like Madrid's style when Mou was in charge.

But until now, when ppl can't score against us, they just say we park the bus. doh.gif

Right now, I'm not no so worried about our PL. If we maintain our form, we will be in the top 3.

The prob now is that Matic and Salah is cup tied. Not available for Champions League. Meaning that pivot we have only Lamps, Mikel, Ram, Luiz. Attacking trident with 1 less player (Salah) too. hmm.gif

^ This.

My united friends see score 1-0 and go "you all score 1 lucky goal then park bus de". Sad perception. Anyone who watches us play knows our style is a farcry from the "park the bus" style we employed years and years ago

If like that also park the bus then no should defend already. After lose possession then how? players close one eye, and pretend they didnt see?

Worst thing is not the fans who didn't watch the game, its the arseholes who don't even watch football at all, who get half-assed info from other friends and pretend their expert pundits.

Looking at our squad. We just need 1 striker that can score 20 goals per season. Some1 as a finisher inside the box. This also explains why we winning 1-0. If we have a better predator we could have won 4-0 against City. brows.gif

guys, just a random thought. i have this 1 very random question and i would like to know you guys' opinions

Juan Mata is the player of the year for the past 2 seasons. last season, where we won the europa league, he was both the fan's player of the year and player's player of the year. the last 2 season, where we won fa cup and champions league, he was voted only the fan's player of the year (the player's player of the year goes to ramires iirc)

now, my question is, the last 2 season (where we won fa cup and champions league), he was voted the player of the year by the fans before our champions league final. do u think the result will change and drogba will scoop the award, shall the event be held after the champions league triumph ??

as for me, yes i voted for Mata also in the official website but if the event is really held right after the champions league triumph, i will vote for drogba instead

how bout you guys ??? biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

I'll vote for Mata. Drogba is god like all season. Nuff said. Mata is starting to catch form and becoming the best player in that am position.

For worst signing, there are a few for me.

Sidwell, he was said to be the next Makelele. But then, he failed to live up the hype.

Wright phillip, all of us liked him i'm sure. But did not manage to force his way into the starting 11.

Parker anf Zhirkov, who did not really broke into our first team too.

Kezman!! He was scoring for fun in the dutch league, but had troubles adjusting to the PL.

I'll vote for Mata. Drogba is god like all season. Nuff said. Mata is starting to catch form and becoming the best player in that am position.

Take a look on this. Surprising some of the player I rated highly are being included. Reasons are also available there. wink.gif It goes back to 90s.

20 biggest flop

And Cavani's representative in England seems to be true as well.

And last, England needs Terry more than he needs England. brows.gif

if arsenal failed to win BPL, blame it to wenger. in summer can spend 42 mill for ozil. but during Jan can only find loan injured player. 1 injured player! bad move.

well..I think they will play their usual game..if arsenal come back 3 goals in second half then we will see their bus.

but above all.

chelsea must win and use this opportunity to leapfrog arsenal.

city 99% sure win already against norwich.

Somewhat. Willian started behind the striker and Oscar started wide. As the game progress, Oscar came deep regularly, while Willian and hazard took attacking positions as usual. Sounds pretty 4-3-3 to me.

Oscar has been quite average the last few games....

Actually I prefer Mata to him but I acknowledge his ability to score on important games and high work rate in defending makes him more suitable for Chelsea no 10 role...playmaking n better assist with better freekick should be hands down Mata...

Oscar during olympic london mmg suka collect bola from deep. That was the 1st time i watch him play..

And hazat..my god..i already believe in him since day 1 and some of us already call him flops just because he is from french league.

Funny. He is definitely a 'bargain flop' now. Haha

Luiz look a bit rusty at the back. OK is the right word to sum up his performance from last night. Sissoko chance due to his positioning. De jong chance, not even try to challenge for the ball. Luckily Newcastle striker not a good one.

Ini aku setuju..tak senang duduk aku kalau Luiz main CB.
IMHO, posisi terbaik Luiz season ni sebagai midfielder..kalau dia buat skill tak menjadi, kurang2 ada CB kat belakang boleh cover.

Not surprising for a Brazilian tongue.gif

Nice videos too, I never knew there were extended ones. Thought there were only the short ones from Chelsea YT page.

I'll also post a video then

Cole should go. Hes been a great player for us up till now but we have others who are ready to take over the reins.

I'm thinking Terry should stay because we would lack a proper leader without him and he is still pretty damn solid.

I'm not too sure about Lampard though, a bigger part of me thinks its time to call it quits with Lamps but he could still offer the youngsters some experience.

still hoping PvA and bertrand can prove their selves for the spot.

What about Lamps? Should Chelsea release him at the end of the season? Now with the surge of players competing in midfield I see Lamps used sparingly

We definitely need to keep Terry. Without him theres no one else that can captain the team on the field. Closest person I can think of is Cech or Cahill but they're not there just yet. Plus Terry is still pretty damn solid

you guys bully Moyes, so bad..:lo:
I want him to stay, and rebuild manU like what he did at Everton - his team that can play his way. ATM is not 100% his fault, he inherited from SAF an entire squad that might not suit him(Moyes).

yea i also hope he will stay. build a new everton in manutd. tight budget and fight for europa every year

Hazard to be rested as well. Bring in Schurrle (Start or Sub) and give Salah (Sub) a chance as well.

Torres or Ba to start and Eto'o on the bench
