A lot of player worth mentioning today.
Cech, Cahill, Azpi, Matic, Willian, Eden. Superb team performance, especially since we weren't prolific at all in front of goal. Btw, for the Chelsea twin towers as mentioned by a fellow forumer here |

Matic MOTM
What a revelation he has been. Countless time in the match when matic gets the ball, in my head I imagine what would Mikel do in the same situation, and it's always completely different. Interceptions, clearances and marking, defensively he got it. And when he gets the ball, he either pings the ball forward or even carries the ball himself when required. I'm trying not to get carried away with him just after couple of matches, but the difference in playing mindset makes a vast improvement on the team performance. From the beginning of the season, Mourinho has been checking off areas that need improvement/fixing. All has been going according to plan so far. Just need few more fixes. After that, like the man himself said, we would be looking forward to win (defend |

I like the dynamic of the team as it is now. Big signings will always have the risk of throwing the dynamic of the team off. The pressure of making the new signing a success inevitably exist in the manager, teammates and the new player himself.
Next season I'm looking at Lukaku. That kid is definitely good enough. First choice or second I don't mind. For next season, either 1.Lukaku 2.Torres 3.Bamford OR 1.Costa? 2.Lukaku 3.Bamford I doubt Torres will stay if someone like Costa comes, maybe can give him back to Atletico |

QUOTE(lol~ @ Feb 5 2014, 04:08 PM) i prefer: Good point, it would be unfair to one of them. We need 3 strikers in the squad, but realistically one of them won't get much game time, almost like 2nd GK.1.lukaku 2.costa 3. if we pick lukaku and bamford, both same age and young.i afraid later one of them are not satisfied because not have enough time to play. costa can be our main striker next season and lukaku can be our super sub for costa.he can play against smaller club.3 years later costa will be 28 and lukaku can be given more time to play i dunno who to pick as third choice.to me 2 striker is enough Either we use our reserve youth player as 3rd striker, or get someone on free transfer. |

Piazon isn't a true striker, but having him as the 3rd option would be a good idea because he can get playing time in other position. He can play any of the four attacking positions.

If like that also park the bus then no should defend already. After lose possession then how? players close one eye, and pretend they didnt see?
Worst thing is not the fans who didn't watch the game, its the arseholes who don't even watch football at all, who get half-assed info from other friends and pretend their expert pundits. |

QUOTE(franklooi96 @ Feb 8 2014, 05:21 PM) Newcastle will be missing almost their whole first team. (Tiote, Coloccini, Remy, Cisse, Gouffran) wont even happen in COC match.Hope we take this chance and start some youngsters and benchwarmers Schwarzer Kalas, Ake, Luiz, Cole Lampard, Mikel Schurrle, Oscar, Salah Ba Rotation policy? expecting 4 or less changes. |

QUOTE(kucingmainan @ Feb 9 2014, 12:31 PM) Somewhat. Willian started behind the striker and Oscar started wide. As the game progress, Oscar came deep regularly, while Willian and hazard took attacking positions as usual. Sounds pretty 4-3-3 to me. |

QUOTE(Ichighost @ Feb 11 2014, 06:15 PM) noone standing out atm i guess. havent really watched any WBA games recently though. Anichebe can be threat, especially with the absence of our top choice CB pairing. Luiz got to much less clumsy and messy with his duties tonight. JM wasn't entirely happy with the team's first half performance vs Toons, so will be looking forward to see a improved start tonight. Also like to be impressed with more players' displays other than Hazard and Matic. |

QUOTE(Ichighost @ Feb 11 2014, 11:26 PM) I don't mind the rotation/resting, and i'm not a mikel hater.. BUT mikel in double pivot is a square peg in a round hole. It just doesn't work. I can go on and on about the double pivot and i have before, but most importantly, mikel is not a double pivot player. if he has to play, i'd be more than happy to see him play bang on the center in a 4-3-3 formation. |

Only managed to watch the full game just now. Very disappointing.
To be honest, I cannot criticize the lineup. I think it was the best one. Oscar didn't do too badly in my opinion. He playing slightly differrent role, but the thing i noticed about him is the workrate not as good as before. Doesn't seem as sharp as we've seen him. Mikel sub was too early in my opinion. Could have swapped the attackers first. We weren't winning/playing comfortable enough to make the defensive change. Not a right time to bring back Torres either. And lastly, after conceding the goal, we should remain playing the ball on the ground. Hucking the ball forward will only attract physical battles which we will lose most of the time, not to mention giving away fouls. Poor response from the team after conceding. |
